A rocky childhood, though there were a string of good memories throughout. Home life was relatively settled for Leo's first few years, right up until he was out of his toddler years and approaching double digits. His father was laid off work, and had to scrounge for two jobs to replace the wages he had previously been getting. His mother quickly became overwhelmed with having three children, the housework, and then having to pick up an evening job to help pay the bills - from there things began to deteriorate. Leo did what he could to look after his siblings, being all but one minute older he counted himself as the eldest of the triplets and the one that needed to protect. He tried his hand at making their meals and looking out for them - but he often burnt the microwavable pizzas, and forgot to cut crusts off the sandwiches. Their mother eventually walked before the kids were ten, up and vanishing one day with not a trace. She never contacted them again.
Left with a hell of a lot to handle, Leo's father forced responsibility onto him, and Leo took over most of the care of his siblings wherever possible. Helping them with school work though he wasn't the smartest of them, and packing their lunches. Lily ended up taking over the more maternal side of their lives when she saw how much Leo struggled; likely in their best interests when it came to cooking dinner. As they neared eleven, their father finished descending his slippery slope and became a fully fledged alcoholic - lashing out with mostly his words and then eventually he brought in his fists at whichever child was closest. Leo soon learnt when the temper tantrums were coming and how best to get his siblings out of the house before they could bear the brunt of their fathers anger. They took to going to friends, and when a few years older, parties - not one for drugs, Leo tried the odd thing but stuck to drinking socially but never more than that - he refused to become like his father.
The only thing that came from the family that was good was the cousins. They lived over in Ireland with Leo/Lily/Logan's father's brother (their uncle) and his wife. Leo got on like a house on fire with all of them, but him and Chris had a particular penchant for trouble and pranking. They visited the cousins for some school holidays and sometimes they came to them, but the visits petered out when they were older, their father stopped caring, and the teens had other things going on. Amber was never part of this - unfortunately, her father - also brother to Leo's dad - did not wish to be involved with the family or have much to do with them. Amber reached out to Leo once for help, but Leo couldn't stand to help her at the time. They had too much going on at home, and he was worried his siblings would try to help and get themselves in more shit. He always regretted it later, when Amber would have nothing to do with them, but Leo did what was best for his siblings at the time and he stands by that.
The only real constant in Leo's life was horses. He found the yard by accident, and along with his siblings he worked on the yard in his free time in exchange for lessons. He tried to pull his life together as he hit his early teens, discovering a love for quirky/difficult horses and finding that he did well with them- fearless and taking no nonsense, he did well and took on Kalona - a wild and reckless stallion who had come to hate people. It went well for a year, during which Leo took him out to compete - but a freak accident sent them into a rotational fall that nearly left Leo paralysed. He tried to return to handle Kalona when he was back on his feet, but the horse had reverted back his own ways, and Leo had been terrified of losing his ability to walk. How could he protect his family in a wheelchair? He gave the horse up, and Logan secretly took him on instead - the cause of many arguments later on as Leo was afraid Kalona would kill him
As Leo hit his later teens, he started to dream of getting out. His father frequently lost his jobs and tried to steal money from Leo and his siblings and their hard earned cash from their part-time occupations. He began to stay out more and more, keeping an eye on his siblings to make sure they weren't left alone with their father. When Lily received the inheritance of Seven Oaks from a long lost relative, Leo refused to leave at first. Logan wouldn't go until he finished college, and Leo didn't want to leave him. He sent Lily off to the countryside to be safe, and eventually managed to drag Logan down with him after his brother fooled Leo into going out without him, and Leo came back to find him beaten to a pulp. He got him drunk so he wouldn't know what was going on, packed their bags and shipped them both off to the stables with their sister.
He made a life for himself there - being foolish enough to sleep with a woman called Emily who - nine months later - graced him with baby Maya, she left not long after giving the child over to Leo and eventually passed away in a house fire. Leo gained full custody of Maya, met his now wife - Bella - and has been settled and happy ever since. When James came across from Ireland to join the family, they learnt some suprising news that he was actually their half brother - James' mother had slept with their father and managed to hide the truth for years, up until a routine blood test turned into a DNA test. Leo welcomed James in - who he had seen as his brother regardless for years.

lexi was born one summer evening to two hands-on, well adjusted italian's. her father was of a hard working, middle class family, and in typical uptown girl fashion, he fell for a woman of higher class - lexi's mother. her family had money, a lot of it, though she spent her time in the garden, with a love of flowers and all things green-fingered. her family was unimpressed about the match, but her mother gave them no choice, despite the threat of being 'cut off', she was in love with marcello and refused to let him go. they married young, eloping to avoid the family drama, and set themselves up with their own little house. marcello wanted to take care of his wife off his own merit, despite the temptation of her inheritance, and he managed it - some years after their marriage, he gifted his wife a shop for her to be able to sell the beautiful flowers she arranged.
though an only child, lexi was not overly-spoiled; there was some element of it, but she grew up strong minded, kind and with a heart somewhat made of gold. she did well in school, though she was not exactly academically gifted, and spent a lot of time partaking in after school activities - enjoying being fit and active. she was a popular kid in school, with a large group of friends, but she was never mean. when she hit fifteen, she was scouted by a talent agent in a modelling company and interest was posed. she'd thought about modelling before, having been told she was pretty and about the right shape for what they would look for. her parents were unsure if it was a good idea, especially at her age, but they indulged her, and everything seemed legitimate when they went to check out the company.
lexi modeled for two years. she enjoyed it, enjoyed the attention and looking good and the other girls were not bitchy or catty, but supportive. during this time, she developed an unhealthy habit with food. a flyaway, rude comment from an asshole photographer got it stuck in her head that she was overweight and due to lose her contact. she stopped eating. it took a while for people to realise anything was wrong, she was not generally a liar, but she found ways to hide her lack of eating, particularly with how much time she didn't spend at home. it was noticed eventually, before it got to hospitalisation the first time; her friends covered for her, most of them had similar eating disorders and understood. her parents threatened that if it turned this way again, they would take her out of modelling. she promised it wouldn't.
but it did. still struggling, without the support she needed, she fell back into old habits and this time, took a short stint in hospital at the age of 17. her parents were beside themselves, and did everything they could to support her. she argued with them about returning to modelling, desperate to get back to her friends. she worked hard to prove she was okay, mentally and physically and some months down the line, her parents relented. she was offered a shoot in england and she jumped at the chance, using it as time to take a breath and decide if she wanted to continue with this way in life. her parents were not happy to see her go abroad, still worried for her - but they needn't be. whilst over in england for several weeks, she ended up getting injured at her shoot and her return home was put back several weeks - during which time she met the love of her life, and decided to give up her career, give up italy, and stay in england with her now husband.

A rocky childhood, though there were a string of good memories throughout. Home life was relatively settled for Lily's first few years, right up until she was out of her toddler years and approaching double digits. Her father was laid off work, and had to scrounge for two jobs to replace the wages he had previously been getting. Her mother quickly became overwhelmed with having three children, the housework, and then having to pick up an evening job to help pay the bills - from there things began to deteriorate. Lily knew Leo picked up the slack - doing what could to look after her and Logan, counting himself as the eldest of the triplets and the one that needed to protect. He tried his hand at making their meals and looking out for them - but he often burnt the microwavable pizzas, and forgot to cut crusts off the sandwiches. Their mother eventually walked before the kids were ten, up and vanishing one day with not a trace. She never contacted them again.
Left with a hell of a lot to handle, Leo's father forced responsibility onto Leo, and Leo took it. They took to going to friends, and when a few years older, parties - Lily never really touched drugs, but she enjoyed the drink and the socialising, finding herself naturally drawn to people and enjoying dancing and chatting.
She met Luke in Primary school, around the age of 6, Luke having picked up Logan as the shy triplet's only friend, he was inducted into their lives quickly, almost like an extra limb. Leo and Luke butted heads right from the word go, but Lily liked him - he was funny, he was charming and he looked out for Logan when her and Leo couldn't. Luke grew up alongside them, and over the years, feelings developed. Lily tried to hide them, to squash them down, but she soon realised she was in love with him when they hit their teens and she couldn't stand to see him with anyone else, and couldn't stomach dating herself. How could she not, Luke had been in her life from almost the word go, spending almost every day together, laughing together and playing games together - and looking after her. He had been one of the few good constants in her life, aside from horses, and she couldn't help herself. By some miracle, he seemed to feel the same. What started out as stolen glances and scary feelings turned into hidden touches and then developed to secret kisses. Neither of them felt they could tell her brothers - Leo in particular, and both of them were afraid of what could happen - of ruining their friendship or Logan and Luke's brotherhood. In the end, they couldn't deny their feelings. After a tipsy night together they admitted they were in love, and told the others - Logan was supportive and unsurprised, Leo was not best pleased but dealt with it in the end.
The only thing that came from the family that was good was the cousins. They lived over in Ireland with Leo/Lily/Logan's father's brother (their uncle) and his wife. Leo got on like a house on fire with all of them, but him and Chris had a particular penchant for trouble and pranking. Lily was relieved to have a girl in the family and stuck herself on to Ashley whenever able to. They visited the cousins for some school holidays and sometimes they came to them, but the visits petered out when they were older, their father stopped caring, and the teens had other things going on. Amber was never part of this - unfortunately, her father - also brother to Lily's dad - did not wish to be involved with the family or have much to do with them. Lily never knew that Amber had tried to contact them, though she tried in later years and got told to - essentially - get fucked.
The only other constant in Lily's life was horses. She joined the yard when Leo found it, and along with her siblings she worked on the yard in her free time in exchange for lessons. She loved the freedom horses gave her, and having something to focus on - competitions to work towards. She didn't love the difficult one's like Leo did but she did enjoy riding all different types and learning to improve her skills. She found she enjoyed all disciplines and dabbled a hand in eventing with a horse she loaned from the stables, doing well on multiple occasions. When Leo had his accident, she was terrified for him, and though it made her nervous to return to the yard she couldn't give it up - and Leo encouraged her not to stop riding, no matter the scare of what had happened to him.
As Lily hit her later teens, she started to dream of getting out. Her father frequently lost his jobs and tried to steal money from Lily and her siblings and their hard earned cash from their part-time occupations. Lily began to stay out more and more, like her siblings - often spending nights at Luke's, with or without Logan, or she joined Leo at his parties. One day, a letter came - out of the blue, she suddenly found herself the owner of a run down, barely going stables in the South of England. A distant great aunt Claire, had bestowed the yard upon her - though Lily had no idea why and had no recollection of ever meeting this person. She did all the research and ensured it was legit before telling her siblings and Luke, wanting them to come with her. Logan wouldn't go until he finished college, and Leo didn't want to leave him. Desperate, she went to Luke and begged him to come with her - but he wouldn't. He didn't want to leave his education either or his parents, and though she understood, it broke Lily's heart. Leo packed her off, forcing her to go - if she didn't accept the offer, she would lose it, and he promised to take of Logan and they would come down to join her soon. She tried to make things work with Luke, but long distance was difficult, and in the end they decided to take a break.
Not a few months after Lily had left London, her brothers came down to join her. Following a party where Logan had lied and said he was out, Leo had come home to find Logan beaten to a bloody pulp and barely breathing - he'd immediately taken him and their things and hauled them down to Lily. Whether Logan liked it or not. Lily was delighted to have them, though she still missed Luke, and they settled into life together, giving a half share to each brother to help. Roughly a year after her brothers had come, Luke suddenly reappeared into her life - Logan picked him one day and Lily came home to find him there with packed bags; he was moving in. She was overjoyed to see him again, and though they started as friends, old feelings quickly resurfaced, and following a bout of secret dating, they once again came out to the others as in a relationship - and eventually married.
When James came across from Ireland to join the family, they learnt some surprising news that he was actually their half brother - James' mother had slept with their father and managed to hide the truth for years, up until a routine blood test turned into a DNA test. Lily welcomed James in - who she had seen as her brother regardless for years, and gave him a gift of a share in the stables.

A rocky childhood, though there were a string of good memories throughout. Home life was relatively settled for Logan's first few years, right up until he was out of his toddler years and approaching double digits. His father was laid off work, and had to scrounge for two jobs to replace the wages he had previously been getting. His mother quickly became overwhelmed with having three children, the housework, and then having to pick up an evening job to help pay the bills - from there things began to deteriorate. Logan often kept to himself, trying to stay out the way and not make trouble for anyone. Leo was always trying to take lead, and Lily often argued with him for control, Logan was never going to step up to try and play the oldest. Their mother eventually walked before the kids were ten, up and vanishing one day with not a trace. She never contacted them again.
Left with a hell of a lot to handle, Logan's father forced responsibility onto Leo, and Leo took over most of the care of his siblings wherever possible. Helping them with school work though he wasn't the smartest of them, and packing their lunches. Lily ended up taking over the more maternal side of their lives when she saw how much Leo struggled; likely in their best interests when it came to cooking dinner. Logan spent his time keeping his head down and trying to avoid his siblings having to do anything for him, his room was ridiculously neat and tidy, he tried to help Lily with the food when he could and tried to keep his brother out of trouble, and arguing. They took to going to friends, and when a few years older, parties. Logan hated parties, and when he could get away with not being dragged, he went to Luke's. Sometimes, Luke dragged him out regardless but they spent a fair bit of time at his house, playing games and studying.
The only thing that came from the family that was good was the cousins. They lived over in Ireland with Leo/Lily/Logan's father's brother (their uncle) and his wife. They visited the cousins for some school holidays and sometimes they came to them, but the visits petered out when they were older, their father stopped caring, and the teens had other things going on. Amber was never part of this - unfortunately, her father - also brother to Logan's dad - did not wish to be involved with the family or have much to do with them. Logan tried asking Leo once if he'd ever heard from Amber - he had no idea how to contact her once they stopped visiting, but Leo had always been caging in his responses and Logan felt there was something there he wasn't being told.
As with his siblings, his only constant in life was horses. He worked alongside his siblings in exchange for lessons, and found his patience and gentle hand did well with the nervous horses. He spent a lot of time with some of the unbacked youngsters, even though it was some time before he got on board those types of horses. He enjoyed the variety and seeing their steady progress, and he became known for picking up the horses riddled with anxiety and nervous habits. When his brother had a sickening accident on Kalona, he spent time with the animal, seeing what the fall had done to the horses' mentality. It was the cause of many arguments later when Leo claimed the horse was dangerous, but Logan refused to give up on him, eventually buying him for next to nothing to work on him in their own time.
Logan didn't dream about getting out, he thought that was his lot in life, and he tried to keep out of his father's way. He wanted to finish school and college and go off to a good university. That was his plan, and his way of 'getting out'. Leo began to stay out more as they got older, and Logan's head retreated into his books and his studies, turning away the opportunities to party. When Lily was gifted the stables, Logan refused to go. He didn't want to take it as charity, it felt like a cop out. He tried to get Leo to go with Lily, caring for their safety, but he refused to leave. Logan was frustrated, he was the quiet one but he was not a baby and did not need sitting. It all came to a head one evening when Leo went out on the promise from Logan that he was going to Luke's - he wasn't. He wanted to finish a project at home, the same night their father was on a particularly bad bender. Leo returned home to find Logan beaten half to death. Without Logan's consent, Leo got him so drunk he had no idea what was going on, packed their bags and took them down to Lily's new home.
He resented it at first, his hard work at college was lost, considered as a drop out as it was impossible to transfer without his father's consent at the time. He eventually found that he didn't need to finish his college degrees, and that his dream of uni faded, the horses and the yard taken over. He began to make a home for himself, and a life, and though he never thanked his brother for what he did, he stopped resenting him a long time ago.

Luc's childhood was all about trying to grow up to be the man his father wanted him to be. Adam Beaumont was a proud man, filled with masculinity and a retired Sargent from the French army, now a craftsman. He wanted his son to be strong and make him proud, to do good for his country and his family name and join the army after his father. As a kid, Luc idolised his dad, hung upon his every word and did everything he asked in order to make his father proud. He was respectful and honest, hard working and a sweet little boy who was adored by his mother. Then his mother had a child unexpectedly when he was four.
He doted upon his little sister Elise, giving her his complete attention, loving to help his mother with her - feeding her, playing with her, settling her. His father disliked how much time he spent with his sibling, believing he should be out playing with the other boys his age. He was pushed out of the house each afternoon after school, sometimes much to his disappointment, and told not to come home till dinner. He tried to please his dad and in the effort he made friends with a young boy around his age named Avery. He fast became friends with the boy, going round to his house and one hot afternoon when water bombs were involved..he met his big brothers, and his two sisters. One of which was Kara.
He fell in love with her the moment he saw her, even at such a young age he could not help but think he was going to marry that girl. As they grew older he remained friends with Avery, hanging out with him as a teenager, becoming better friends with Kara. It was hard to remain cool around Kara when he grew older - as a teenager his feelings of the crush became stronger, but he was too anxious to ask her out and simply had to watch her date other guys - jerk guys. He thought he would never be able to ask her out, even Avery supported him for his crush despite the fact that it was his sister - Luc had always been a good guy and he became a good man, loyal and trustworthy, honest, cool headed and intelligent.
Then it happened - in the worst way possible. When he was nineteen, his little sister died. Luc had always looked after her, been protective of her, supported her and been there for her. She had been in the car with her friends and her new boyfriend. Luc had always been unsure about him, he had a good judge of character and the guy had been respectful but too... unpredictable. Still, Luc had never stopped Elise from making her own choices but he would always regret the day she died. The guy had only just passed and Luc had been dubious about her being in the car with him, but he had let her go whilst their parents had been out at work.. and then whilst playing video games with Avery he'd received the call. The guy had crashed his car, and Elise had died on impact. There was no hope, no chance she might pull through..that had been it. Dead.
He'd taken the news hard, much harder than anyone could ever have believed and he rushed to the hospital to see for himself. He had had to know if they were certain, if it really was her. Seeing her there, cold on the slab pulled him into reality. His little sister was dead. She would never see her sixteenth birthday - never learn to drive, never have her first drink, never become an adult, never get to get married or have kids or grow old.. and he would. Life was unfair. He'd flipped and gone after the guy, the only thing that had stopped him from killing the guy was Avery - who'd followed him and held him back when the punches became too much. The guy was only a kid anyway, but he had gotten away fine...he still got to live. Elise didn't.
His parents struggled, they didn't blame him but Luc felt they did deep down. He would always blame himself. He didn't know how to help himself and sank into a place so dark he thought he'd never see the light... until Kara. Kara saved him. She taught him something she loved. She shared with him her love of dancing and suddenly things began to get better. It was hard and a long journey, he knew nothing of dancing but he was a natural and over the years he improved fast, came to love it, came to love her. She saved him from himself, and brought him a new passion. They became dance partners, and whilst they began to win trophies and such his father was not so happy. He did not want some gay dancer son, he couldn't accept it. His mother encouraged him however, glad to see him better and finding herself better too.
When the wars came to France, Luc tried to ignore them. He didn't want his illusion to end, to shatter. Of course when they invaded the villages, he encouraged his friends to leave. He loved Kara and she had grown to love him too, he had planned it all..planned to marry her, gotten the ring from his mother and all. He had figured his words and the setting and all, they had been almost there and then it had all been blown by the guns and canons. The day he had been going to ask her to marry him was the day the Maccarran family ran. He never got his chance. The last thing he got to do was kiss her and tell her he loved her, before he told her to go, to leave ...that he'd be fine. He helped Dustin when they had to fight to get out, finding their parents dead and fearing for his own...but fearing for his love and his friends all the same. They escaped.
Luc tried to get his parents to leave but they refused, and all he could do was lock up the house and sit with his gun with his father, shaking like a young boy with fear. They survived...just...but it was a long battle. They lost many, they lost much and when it was over and the war moved on he found himself shattered once again with no Kara to help fix him. He couldn't dance without her, the magic wasn't there with other partners and he couldn't love it as much without her. In the end, he did what his father wanted - he joined the army. He was hard, arduous and gritted, a lot of his softer side was lost to the harsh-ness of the army. He helped to fight in the front lines and returned only a few months ago when the war returned to his home town. Once again they were driven out, but Luc couldn't do it anymore, the wars were getting worse and he feared for his life. He still couldn't get his parents to leave with his stubborn father but he could save himself, so he moved to England.

Marnie's family was relatively close-knit and generally quite happy as she grew up. There tended to be very few arguments and so Marnie was lucky in the respect that her parents were happy together and she had a first hand view of how marriage was supposed to work. The only thing was that her parents were religious and therefore fairly strict and tradition. She grew up knowing how to cook and clean and generally take care of the house hold, alongside her usual school work. Her parents where firm on their views of dating and that there should be no sex before marriage, and Marnie for the most part agreed.
Her parents were apprehensive when Marnie met Kyle. They were young - attending high school, and Marnie had had eyes on Kyle for a while, but she'd never believed he'd like her back. She was popular, part of the cheerleading squad and had a lot of good friends, but she was the quieter, softly spoken girl of the bunch. She'd always blushed and ducked her head when she was caught looking at him. So she was surprised when he asked her out, though naturally incredibly pleased. He was the perfect gentleman, and over time, his charm and honestly managed to win her parents around to the point of approval.
Right up until she became pregnant with their first child - Jackson. Her parents did not approve in the slightest, were incredibly disappointed in her and though they couldn't condone an abortion, they tried to force her to give the baby up for adoption. Marnie was stubborn. She loved Kyle with all her heart, and she wanted the child - education or no education. She had Jackson and a year later they were married. Marnie was happiest than she'd ever been, and once Jackson was a little older she became interested in advertising, dabbling her hand in working when they were able to hire a decent sitter.
A couple of years later, Marnie became pregnant with Harper. She left her job, knowing it was going to be tough to have two kids with both parents busy working. Not long after she became pregnant, Kyle was offered a job over in England. It came as a surprise, she was still relatively young for such a position, but it was too good to turn down. They packed themselves up along with young Jack, and moved across the pond, settling into a modest house in England. She had Harper a few months later, and stuck to being a home maker so that she could look after things at home - Kyle worked long hours and she wanted to be home for the kids and to make hot dinners. She sometimes missed working, and picked up odd jobs here and there - often volunteering for local charities. When Sam came into their lives a couple of years ago, she accepted him whole-heartedly into the family, trying to help him heal from the past horror his life had been. Not long after he settled into their home, she fell surprisingly pregnant a third time and their little family was made complete with the arrival of Kiara.

Monique had a tough go at life but she surprisingly doesn't begrudge it. She was thrown into a children’s home before she can remember, though she has brief memories of a mother who hated her. There was never any physical abuse but her mother would say awful things to her, and often neglect her. She thinks the police may have been involved but she's too young to remember - all she knows if she spent some years in a kids home. She was later transferred to another when she was older, partly because of her age and the ages of the kids with her, and partly because she'd been picking fights and causing trouble. In the second home, she met Ash and Arrow - two lads who at first she was at odds with, but after besting Ash in a fight she earned herself some decent respect and came to think of them as her family; her brothers.
They planned a way to escape when they were old enough to know they needed to get out - she had to have been around 16 at the time. It went wrong. Arrow ended up stabbing one of the other kids, and Ash managed to get out without them and Monique following suit - losing both Ash, who disappeared, and Arrow who was left behind. She wandered the country for some time, picking up work and lodgings were she could but it was hard graft being under 18 - not many people wouldn't question her. Only six months later, someone picked her up and dragged her back to the children's home - kicked and screaming. When she got there, she found out that Arrow had also managed to escape and was back to being on her own. She tried to get out several times but in the end, the only way she managed it was by turning 18 and being set loose. She worked her way back down the country, making change as she could - before catching wind of where Ash had settled from an old friend. It surprised her to find both Arrow and Ash in Hickstead, their differences settled, and she joined them without too much fuss to make a new life for herself.

There isn't really much to say about Quinn's past. She was born here, in the very same town that she lives in. She was the only daughter to two fairly nondescript people who owned a simple newsagents, and her life was pretty simple. She did well in school and knew from the beginning that she wanted to help people. She liked to help others and had a naturally maternal, caring nature. Whilst she did like being sociable and meeting people at parties - mostly for the conversation and the dancing, she worked hard and studied well - becoming a nurse with apparent ease, though realistically it was that she put in the hard graft.
The only event in her life that had significance happened just after she turned seventeen. On her way home from college, there was a freak accident where the train came off the rails of the track. A piece of sheer metal caught her across her lower abdomen. Desperate to help the other people, she managed to work her way free, but in doing so, caused more damage. Not long after being able to help a couple of people with their injuries, she collapsed and upon waking in the hospital, was informed that due to the damages she was unlikely to ever be able to have children. It hit her hard, having always wanted a family and the white picket fence life, but she threw herself harder into her work to try and distract herself from the pain of what she had lost and after some years and several therapy sessions, she came to accept her life as it would be.

peyton was born one wintry november evening, and perhaps it would have been a warning to her parents that the thunderstorm outside might be an indication of the daughter they carried so carefully in their arms. she was a difficult baby right from the off, crying all the time and often for no reason, crawling all over the place, almost down the stairs at one point. once she could hold a crayon she was all over the walls, and as soon as she was on her feet it was a damn issue trying to keep her in the house let alone her bedroom and playing with her toys. her parents struggled greatly, yelling at each other, yelling at her, exhausted, underweight and really really struggling to keep it together. peyton was diagnosed eventually as having adhd, but knowing the issue didn't always help. her parents struggled to keep her interest and focus and stop her from focusing her attention elsewhere. they couldn't control her, and it was damn lucky that they didn't have another child to deal with.
when she was five, they tried putting her into clubs with her school, but she wasn't interested in arts and often made trouble with the other kids, she was hard to keep in control due to her parents lack of authority from the beginning and therefore teachers struggled too. eventually they discovered gymnastics, and when peyton didn't completely throw a fit or despise the activity they realised they may have finally found something to help her. the teacher - mrs. swanson - was kind and sweet, and always managed to get peyton to focus and work hard. she had a quiet authority which the young child could relate to and therefore did not act out so much, and she progressed rapidly. as she grew older she became better, however her school work always suffered. the teachers didn't know how to deal with her, and the moment a teacher made a bad impression upon peyton then often she would no longer pay them any attention within their classes.
as she went to secondary school and turned fourteen a few years later it all got worse. whilst she had progressed incredibly at gymnastics, her school work was going down the drain. she continued to act out in classes, refused to work properly, often never focused and disrupted the class so much that she was usually taken out of them. it wasn't entirely her fault, she struggled and she did try to focus and pay attention but her head thought otherwise and she couldn't do it. she thrived in sports but only because it involved high activity, unlike maths which she barely attended anymore anyway. she soon discovered alcohol, falling into the wrong crowd and going out to parties frequently, often not coming home till late or not at all, getting drunk, flirting and eventually sleeping with guys well before her sixteenth birthday. she wasn't a bad girl exactly, she just stopped caring about school. the only thing she ever focused on anymore was her gymnastics.
when she got to sixteen she dropped out before her exams, much to her parents anger. they didn't understand and they had always struggled to support her and keep her going. instead she said she wanted to join the army, and they reluctantly allowed her to, thinking it might help her get her condition under control. she survived it for two years. she loved the training, the physical exercise of it gave her a thrill, the courses gave her a rush and she was always up for it. even the combat was fun, but the idea of war was not so pleasant. she could throw a fellow trainee down in the mud in hand-to-hand combat, but she doubted she could shoot a stranger in the face. she was sent out only once to the front line and though she did the job she hated every second and in the end requested to leave early. she knew it wasn't for her and so she left, returning home with more control over herself. the army had taught her a lot, but now she was back in hickstead she grew restless. upon working hard at the gym one day she discovered yoga, and upon several years of practise she became a yoga instructor, loving that it helped her find peace and control. she returned part time to gymnastics and found she had enough money to move into her own flat and begin her own life.

FATHER(S): Jeremy ian reed - 58 - baker MOTHER(S): karen jane reed nee peters - 58 - dressage rider STEP-PARENT(S): none OTHER HALF: dating RAFE XANDER CALLAHAN - 23 - personal trainer/student SIBLINGS: none CHILDREN: none
roxanne was born in the centre of london 32 years ago. her parents were happy with a girl, although they hadn't actually planned children, and as neither wished for another child, roxy for their only daughter. her father worked in a well known chain bakery whilst her mother competed in dressage on a beautiful mare by the name of Excalibur. however when roxy was three years old, there was an incident at the bakery that caused some anxieties - some london gang took an interest in it, started harassing workers there until finally they sent it up in flames one night. scared of the area they were living in, karen begged her husband to pack them up and move them elsewhere, and so they settled for the southern outskirts where he soon brought his own little bakery.
roxanne was ambitious right from the beginning - her parent's weren't very driven themselves, happy with the lots they'd drawn in life, but she wanted more. she wasn't arrogant and actually she was brought up with proper manners and how to respect people. she used to go into her dad's bakery and watch him cook - help him even when she got older, but cooking wasn't her forte. she worked hard in school right from the beginning of her education, and found during secondary school that she thrived in business studies - a subject she went on to study at college (along with maths, english and french) and then at university. she really got stuck into the work and earned herself an apprenticeship at an important company in london which she's worked for ever since, working up the ladder toward ceo.
the problem was it meant relationships took a back seat for her. she went of a couple of dates here or there with guys she met but a lot of them only wanted one night, and the couple of times she let herself slip and spent the night with them, they didn't call her back. it was frustrating but mostly upsetting, and it put her trust in men right to the back of her mind. a few years into her job at the company, she met a nice man, ambitious like she was, who took interest in her and after a few dates things went well. he was reliable, he called and met her when he said he would, and he promised they could keep work and pleasure separate. they were together for almost two years, during which she climbed further up the ladder whilst he did not and cracks began to show in their relationship. he was tired of her putting her career first, jealous that she was thriving and more successful than him. she tried to rectify things and thought they could have worked if he hadn't had done the impossible - he screwed her over. he set her up at the company, and on her head she lost thousands of pounds. it hadn't been her fault, it had been a set up and luckily her boss found out and she was saved from the chopping block, whilst the guy was fired instead, but she vowed not to let a man do that to her again. she lost control and she couldn't let a guy get under her skin again.
She spent the next few years working on her career, moving from place to place until she settled with her office in London. As CEO she was in charge of running the place and she made the move for their benefit. The a few months everything was fine...and then she met another guy. On the way back from a business trip in America she happened to pick up the wrong bag - identical to her own - and in doing so met her future husband. He was a charmer, and driven just like her. Their romance was whirlwind, head over heels and they were married within the year just before Rox turned 27. They were happy for two years. During which time everything seemed to just..work. Their time off seemed to fall together, and on the times it didn't she was able to go and cheer him on at events, or he was able to come on trips with her and make use of the hotel room. She was on top of the world. Then it all went to shit. She was there when the accident happened. It was the scariest thing in the world, and for a second she thought she was going to lose him. In the end she did, but not with death. The months that came after where a struggle. She suddenly found herself having to support a household with only her income, she couldn't be in two places at once but when Will really began to hit rock bottom she was put under pressure from work to stop taking any further time off or passing up business trips. Something had to break. Rox had no idea how much longer she could take, especially when Will turned to drink; she struggled to find the time to work, care for her husband, and sort out the house and shopping and not get fired.
It came to a head in the end. Rox had to go on a business trip, that or get fired and lose everything, and during this time Will began a short affair. It just so happened the girl happened to be a friend of a friend, somehow she happened to be out on the one evening that Rox managed to get out of the house for an hour, happened to be on the table next door where their mutual friends all mingled as a group...and then she happened to brag about the affair. Rox couldn't believe it at first, she hadn't even thought Will had been going out of the house, but the more the girl talked and talked the more it sunk in until she couldn't deal with it anymore. To her credit she didn't flip out...just one quick slap to the face, leaving everyone in shock...then she left. She hadn't bothered to wake Will. She'd packed her bags and waited until morning when he woke hungover in order to tell him she was leaving, that she knew about the affair and she was done. Rox didn't want a big show down, she had to leave. She still loved him and it hurt, it hurt like damn hell. She threw herself into work full fold, moving the business to Hickstead and filing for a divorce. She left everything up to the lawyers, wanting no part and no drama in the divorce.

Sam didn't get a good start in life. His mother - sweet and kind, died giving birth to Sam. She had always been quite sickly, and she'd been warned against having a child, but she hadn't been able to say no to Sam. His father, who loved his mother dearly and lived his life for her, blamed Sam and was never the same following her death. He'd always had a penchant for alcohol, but he was sucked into the vortex of alcoholism following his wife's death and spent most of Sam's childhood abusing him - from physical beatings, to locking him in his room. Sam was known as 'the weird kid' in school with his ill fitted clothes, sometimes unclean, and the fact he sat at the back of the class and never participated. He was conditioned into being a quiet, withdrawn kid, always in and out of hospital. There were many acquisitions into his home life but somehow, nothing ever stuck to his father, and each time Sam was left with his father without hope.
When he hit 14, his father bullied him to leave school and become a go between for him in black market deals and the occasional drugs run - his father was not a dealer, but he would take any job that offered decent enough cash and used Sam as a scape goat should the deal go wrong. Sam took the brunt of any deals that went wrong - which happened on occasion - and stopped bothering to fear for his life the third time he found himself staring at the sharp, pointy end of a knife. At 15, one of the deals was busted by an under cover cop. Sam was taken for questioning, said little and refused to give his father up, and ended up behind bars with a two year sentence. A part of him was relieved at first, to be away from his dad, but he soon found that even in prison, he couldn't escape his eye.
His father had contacts, and he used them to warn Sam about speaking out, and what he would do if Sam snitched. If anything, prison life was more accommodating than home life. Sam attempted to put himself back into education but when his father visited to warn him he'd be going back to work when he escaped, he saw no point in trying, spending two miserable years avoiding conflict and trying to not get stabbed. He managed to make vague friends with his cell mate, but he was so conditioned to fear people - particularly men - that it was hard to get many words out of him.
Upon his release, his father did just what he said - came and collected him, and sent him back to work. Sam tried to refuse, knowing that if he got caught again, he'd be right back in jail with no prospect in life, and the following argument sent him back to hospital. A young doctor by the name of Kyle took interest in him, concerned over the amount of visits Sam had had over the years. It took time, and effort on Kyle's side to pry but eventually, he uncovered the truth about Sam's history, and when confronted at the wrong time, Sam's father made a show of his true colours. Gaining Sam's trust, Kyle and his family took the kid in. He thought his father would come after him but for some reason, he upped and disappeared instead; he's unsure if Kyle somehow had a part to play in this. Since then, he's started to come out of his shell, meet people, make friends, talk to girls, and he will always be grateful for what the O'Hara's did for him- in Sam's mind, the family entirely saved his life.

shiloh hasn't exactly had a difficult life, not really. when she was little, both her parents were happily married, and they spoiled her rotten. shi's father was a very important business man who earned a lot of money, and so he owned a large house with beautiful gardens, and could afford anything the family wanted. shi never went without in anything...except one thing. her parents. she lacked real attention from them in all honesty. when she was young, she was brought up primarily by a nurse - shiloh's father went back to work long hours and her mother, sarah couldn't really cope alone...not with the shop too.
shiloh was a rather lonely child. with no siblings but such a huge house to herself she often took to making her own games or playing with the nurse. she often longed for a brother or sister but it was never going to happen. her parent's slowly began to fall apart as she grew up, and eventually, her dad stopped coming home. by ten years of age, shiloh was primarily alone, and so when she got to school, she surrounded herself with as many friend's as possible, throwing herself into a social life and finding that people liked her. she was pretty, skinny, rich and she could bite if she needed to, but she wasn't nasty without reason, was generous and genuine...and soon everyone wanted to be her friend, and she found confidence within her that never left.
this only increased when she moved up in years and soon she discovered boys. her parent's may have loved her, but they loved work more, and so finding a lack of affection she sought it elsewhere - in friends, and in guys and even, eventually, girls. she was dating by the time she was fourteen, and in fact she was sleeping with her boyfriends only a year later. her parent's became more devoted to work the older she got, thinking that her age meant she didn't need them anymore when in fact she needed them more than ever. she became independent, practically brought herself up - especially when her parent's eventually divorced just after her sixteenth birthday. she was glad, whenever they were together they fought and she hated it.
her father kept the house, her mother moved away to the flat above her shop, and after a short battle, her father won custody. to try and keep his daughter entertained for the hours and hours he was at work or out with different women, he brought her a horse and threw lessons at her. she came to adore cobalt, but she still missed her mother, and she went to visit her occasionally and help in the shop. she decided to stay on in education, finding that she was a talented singer and dancer and that she loved them both as well as acting. she still hated that her parent's were so absent from her life, and continued to try and seek out love elsewhere, but all she tended to get where short relationships, flings, and constant strings of one night stands - not that it mattered considering she had a huge house to herself and she had to fill it somehow - either with a guy/ girl or a party. still, she hopes to graduate from university and move away from her parents, or hell hopefully get her dad to move out and just give her the place.

theia has always been the 'wild child' of the family, a little eccentric, hard to control. even as a child she was a little terror, always climbing out of her crib and getting lost. she worried the heck out of her parents, but theia didn't care. as she grew older, she realised that her parents had always craved a boy, and so when damien had been born they thought that their family was set. however two years later along came theia - surprise! they hadn't planned for her and though she was never neglected, she always felt that there was a difference in the attention she received and she resented her family for it.
whilst her brother received praise for everything, love and attention, she generally felt that she was the lesser child, and everything she strived to do to make them proud never made much of a difference. after a while she gave up, taking to lashing out, pushing back and driving them to the brink instead. she would get into trouble at school, stay out all night and stagger home drunk the next morning, meeting boys, and allowing her grades to fall below pass marks. it worked for a while - her parents focused on her if only to try grounding her, or telling her off, and though she pushed back, deep down she knew it was the only way to get them to notice her. as she grew older, with no attempt to change, they began to let go - feeling that they couldn't get through to her. rather than persisting they eventually gave up, and stopped giving her attention for her failures. the only person theia felt really cared was her brother damien. he was the only one who could get through to her when she did something reckless, the only one who could get away with reprimanding her.
the family moved to hickstead when her father got a new job, and it happened to coincide with theia's wish to pursue a career in acting; this university was one of the few that was known for it's success and her parents passively encouraged her with this being one of the few avenues she would actually put work into. theia knew that her parents only agreed because of her brother - who had sway over them that theia didn't and had just joined the local hospital on an internship; that theia's wishes just happened to be in the same area was a bonus.

Zira was born in Spain, the youngest of a family of four. Two brothers, both of whom took their role as older brothers seriously; more serious than Zira needed them to, but their hearts were always in the right place. Her father owned a bar, he was the head of a motorcycle gang that became well known in their home town for running quite a lot of the businesses. It was questionably bordering on a Spanish mob, though the words were never spoken. Zira grew up in not just a family of five, but a family of many - the crew looked out for each other, always had each others backs, and never took shit. If her parents or brother's weren't around, someone else would be - whether it was too get Zira something to eat, or to stand up for her to someone else. Zira didn't care if her father did bad things, he was always there when she needed him, and he always looked out for her. She loved her mother, who taught her how life worked, how to handle herself, how to be a confident and strong woman, and command a room full of men, but she was a daddy's girl through and through.
With two brothers and a family of bikers, her after school hobbies tended to involve tinkering with cars and bikes, and she mixed martial arts - which was coupled with boxing once she decided she enjoyed hitting bags - and people. It was an excellent way of working out her aggression, and she stuck with both sports throughout her life. She was always more of a tom boy than a girlie girl, preferring jeans and leathers over pretty skirts and make up. Romance was another thing she never really understood. She thought it was cringe worthy, and spent much of her life sticking to one night stands, and avoiding anything related to commitment.
At sixteen she dropped out of school to join the family business, working behind the bar for some time, doing the odd jobs for her father - though he didn't like to give her anything that meant putting her in danger, and it frustrated her. She didn't want to be treated differently. She spent time picking up other jobs in between, working in all sorts of places from clubs, to restaurants, and garages working with cars; the issue was, she wasn't qualified, and many of them sent her on her way, unable to promote her.
Nothing really stuck for her until she discovered bounty hunting. A friend of her father's retired from the occupation and several conversations over beers sent Zira interested enough to go and look into it. She had to work hard to gain a couple of qualifications, but once she was done, she was away. Her parents weren't overly happy that the job took her away from them for weeks and then months at a time, and in the end she moved to England to follow the work, promising to keep in touch and let them know she was okay and if she needed anything. For now, she's enjoying her freedom and independence.

Cora lived a rather uneventful life... well, no that's a life, but she wished it could be true. She was born to royalty - her father was the third eldest of five sons born as Grandson to the Queen of England. For him, it meant he was highly unlikely to be picking up the crown any time soon, but it did mean he grew up heavily in the public eye. He was arranged to marry Charlotte, who was deemed an appropriate enough union, becoming a Princess in her own right through the marriage. Together they had four children - two boys, and two girls, with Cora being the third of the bunch. She grew up barely knowing her parents, other than for lessons in royalty and discipline, she rarely felt affection from them. Her care was generally left to the household nannies, who had aided in the bringing up of all the siblings. Her young life was spent learning the difficulties and formalities that came with her title of 'Lady'; and the movies make it much more fun than it was. From lessons on conduct and etiquette in amgonst the hours of 'general' schooling, Cora grew up an incredibly intelligent and well versed young woman in all areas of knowledge; fluent in four languages, excelled at Maths, Geography, history and culture etc.
The issue was that Cora never wanted to be royalty. Whilst she never lacked for anything, and did not miss out on a childhood exactly, she never got to be normal. She didn't make many friends, the only other children she met being her siblings or the other royal children, and her parents were always busy, rarely seen except for occasions and meal times - most of the time. She hated the constraints of her life, never able to go anywhere without body guards, if her schedule would have even allowed her to go anyway that wasn't already authorised by her parents. She hated all the standing and waving, feeling that her life was spent being prim, proper and just something pretty to look at - useless. She was able to get off to university at Cambridge, and briefly enjoyed some sort of freedom, though she didn't get to pick her own topics - law, politics and languages would not have been her top choices but she came away with a first in all regardless.
Back at home following her less-than-wild time at uni, Cora began to push back. She hated being back under the thumb, and the fact that she couldn't even step out to go shopping without shadows, without paparazzi following, without her parents slapping her on the wrist for every time she even breathed wrong. In order to try and distance herself and give herself a little room, she got into charity work. She liked helping people, and would splash the every flowing cash extravagantly to help any cause she could get her hands on - throwing fundraising balls and galas, giving healthy donations to struggling charities. It even managed to allow her to get out to other countries and get her hands dirty - putting up shelters, buildings, fresh water to third world countries. But she was dragged home every time eventually to fore-fill her duties in the family. More recently, her parents have been discussing finding her a match for marriage - with both her brothers now married off, she has no excuse to hide behind. Trying to find a way to escape before they could force her down the isle, Cora found a smaller cause for interest and took off to Hickstead - home of the horse people - where she might be able to help following the catastrophic barn fire.
