gentle, wise, 'an old soul', kind hearted, a soft nature, optimist, believes in enjoying the finer things in life - like the colour of the sunset over the roof tops, or the cuteness of a lone cat curled in an alleyway alone, not much fight in her, soft, honest, manages to see the best in everyone, no matter what, isn't one to complain or be bitter and have regrets, tries hard, likes to fix things, bit nerdy
LIKES: the finer things in life , fixing things , chocolate , sci-fi movies , reading , people , watching the world go by , being safe , learning , kind and generous people , starry nights DISLIKES: violence , knife and gun crimes , being forced into things , losing people she loves , the unfairness of life , having to sleep without shelter , horror movies , selfish, self centered people , liars , being in pain STRENGTHS: imaginative , compassionate , optimistic , honest , good painter (used to do graffiti anonymously) WEAKNESSES: physical fighting, she's good but she hates it and often yields - pacifist , not street smart , can't lie , see's the best in everyone , seeing people she loves in trouble FEARS: being alone for the rest of her life , not being able to protect people she loves SECRETS: she's been in love with dylan since they first met , wants a family of her own
"WHATEVER YOU WISH FOR YOU KEEP"
STATUS IN SOCIETY: lower class OCCUPATION: youth worker/student support at the uni EXPERTISE: hiding from people who want to kill her , nerdy - has extensive sci-fi knowledge , has a knack for fixing things WEALTH: nothing PROUDEST MOMENT: it might sound a bit odd, but the first time she read a book by herself. she never had a very good education because she was constantly being moved from place to place, and there were no adults who gave enough attention to her to care how she was getting on. so she sort of ended up teaching herself how to read and though it was slow progress, and she wasn't always very good at it, she eventually finished her first book when she was nine years old. MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT: she had the biggest crush in the world on dylan, and so most of her embarrassing moments relate to being around him. There was one time when her joggers - which were a couple of sizes too big - slipped down whilst she was playing with dylan and kat and boom, her pants were on display. very embarrassing.

erin never knew her parents. when she was born, they gave her up without a second thought. all she knew was that her parent's had been young - teenagers probably - because the minute she was born, her mother wrapped her in an old piece of cloth and placed her in the waste bin in an alleyway. it was a day later she was found, barely alive but she made it nonetheless. a survivor they called her.. and survive she would have to for the rest of her life. she was placed in a foster home as soon as she was deemed healthy enough, and she remained with a rather cold couple for several years. they were nice enough, but they refused to get themselves attached, and therefore they simply observed erin and gave her what she needed, but they lacked love for her, and erin grew up lonely and craving for the love people were yet to show her.
when she was four she was taken to a children's home, where being one of the youngest, she was quickly picked on. it didn't matter than she was pretty much still a toddler, she was forced to involve herself in the scraps for whatever she wanted or needed - food, a bed to sleep, a certain toy...all of it. she wasn't a fighter, she hated fighting, was too sweet, because despite everything she still used to laugh and smile, find the simple things in life, enjoy the smallest of things... she was someone who truly lived 'on the bright side of life'. she fought if she had to but generally if something was taken from her she went without, never complained. she was in and out of foster care. couples who thought they wanted her then figured they wanted an older child, some found her too quiet - she was withdrawn and shy, some had considered her a mute for her lack of talking, but really she was confused by the idea of affection, had been so devoid of love that those sorts of things confused her.
by the time she was eleven she'd been in and out of five different foster homes before finally she was settled at a children's home more permanently. there were older children here - previously she'd never been in a home where there were children all that much older than her, but this place was rougher, filled with violence and terror. she was picked on and bullied the moment she arrived for being so weak and small, a little blonde thing. she quickly banded together with a girl named cat of the similar age, who was a fiesty thing and managed to keep the two of them out of everyone else's way and soon they became best friends. erin struggled in the home, struggled to see the good in life, struggled to keep on surviving. she might have been a survivor, but she was not a prosperer. others were good at getting what they needed, at winning things in fights or simply scrounging. she was not. it wasn't that she wasn't smart - she was great in school, loved classes and all, but she just couldn't deal with the mess of the children's home.
she grew up there, with cat by her side, looking out for each other. erin learned to fight, and actually she could be a damn decent fighter, she just never fought unless cat needed her help. when they got older, cat met dylan...and the moment that erin met dylan she fell in love with him. she didn't know what it was about him, but her heart beat for him. the only thing was... cat got there first - ever the fliratious, confident woman she was becoming, and erin that shy little thing, she got the guy and erin could only watch on as her best friend got the love of her life. she was not bitter, but it hurt. she tried to put it out of mind, her best friend deserved a good guy in her life, and she kept at her side even whilst cat discovered she was pregnant. that was like a punch in the gut for erin but she could do nothing about it. she tried to support her...and then something bad happened.
cat was stabbed on an attempt by several of the teenagers to escape. erin had wanted no part, she hated the fighting, wanted to stick it out until she could legally leave, but some of the other's didn't like it. everything was working until one of them - some kid, arrow - stabbed cat...and right there in front of erin, her best friend died. she was distraught, her friend had been the only stable, good person in her life, and out of blind terror, she ran. unlike most of the others she barely made it through every day. whilst they managed to get themselves together eventually, she never managed that. she couldn't get a job, she often got caught when she stole or she felt guilty and gave the thing back. the places she slept were never nice enough, never clean or enough shelter. she barely found enough company and in the end she got herself into a gang only for the need of self preservation. she found herself wandering into hickstead where she soon learnt of daz's gang when he cornered her a couple of times. she was beginning to loose hope, think that one day she just wouldn't wake up...

eli had a pretty simple, apple pie kind of childhood. his sister was already six years old by the time he came into the world, but unlike some kids when they realise they now have to share their parents affections, she was all for it. his father was a naval officer, and he was quick to notice that he only got to see him during leave, trying to make the most of his time with his father whilst he had his attention, and trying not to get upset when his father left again. he was taught from a young age that crying and whining was not accepted as a young man. as an officer of the navy, and a high ranking one at that, cameron instilled strict rules upon his kids, particularly his son, who he expected to grow up with impeccable manners and the correct attitude. his mother was softer, but likewise took no nonsense, and both the children learnt where the line lay and not to cross it almost as soon as they could walk and talk.
His grades were fairely average. he worked hard, studied and completed his homework on time - not one for tardiness - but he just didn't have the brains for anything great. eli didn't know what he wanted from life, and it remained that way until he met a young woman by the name of Alana. he was only fifteen at the time, and they had exams, but boy did he fall head over heels. he'd never really shown much interest in girls, or even guys for that matter, but suddenly his brain exited his head and all he could think about was alana. luckily for him, she returned his affections. they dated shortly but were official within a couple of weeks, went to prom together, said the whole 'i love you thing' and went off to college together. eli studied a range of subjects at college. he already knew he wouldn't be going to uni, so he went into mechanics, of both the automobile and aircraft sort, woodwork (carving and crafting and all manner of making things), among other things. he figured he'd get a job right off the bat after he was done at college, wanting to save money as quickly as possible so that him and alana could move in together. unfortunately, that didn't wholly go to plan. at the age of nineteen, he got alana pregnant. he'd finished college and was into his first year as an apprentice at a garage when she announced the news. needless to say neither of their parents were too thrilled. alana was studying to be a doctor, and only in her first year of uni, and eli wasn't exactly rolling in money with his life all planned out. disappointed in his son's lack of discipline and control, eli's father took him out of his job, despite the fact that eli was old enough to decide for himself, and shipped him off to join the navy.
at first, eli despised it. he'd been told what to do by his father all his life, and if he had a choice he would be back home bringing in as much money as he could for his girlfriend and unborn child. moping about things wouldn't change the situation - his mother refused to go against his fathers wishes, and his sister had no way of persuading either parent otherwise. it didn't take long for him to realise the only thing he could do was get his head down and pull his weight. any paycheck he received along the way, he sent home for alana, who grew bigger by the day. the first opportunity he got to return home for two weeks and see her, he scraped together what little he had left over and proposed to her, eager to make things right by marrying the girl he loved and raising his soon to be expected twins. things didn't go to plan. whilst away at the base, alana went into early labor. out of the two children that were expected, only one survived. the other unfortunately was born with downs syndrome and just didn't make the early birth. the news was not received well by eli, who was upset that he didn't just miss the birth of his son, but that he had lost a daughter and was unable to be there for alana.
the next few years were difficult, but alana and eli stuck through it as best they could. eli came home every chance he got, but he found that he was enjoying his work on the ship, and the money was good enough to support his fiancee and young boy back home. he hated having turned into his father in the respect that he missed out on certain aspects of his sons life, but the navy had become somewhere he belonged, and he wasn't ready to leave it behind. ten years passed since his son was born until anything changed. he was almost thirty years old when his world got turned upside down again. may 15th, at 8:05pm, a drunk driver drove through a red light and collided with the drivers side of a black audi, killing the driver, and severely injuring the young passenger. eli's wife and child. he immediately left the navy and returned home, unable to do so for almost a week after the incident; it was the worst week he had ever endured. alana's family held the funeral in order for him to be able to attend. he had no words, he could hardly believe it was real. alana had always been sweet and thoughtful, careful... she would never harm a soul, and yet someone else's stupidly and misjudgment had wiped out her life in a heartbeat. eli's son - joe - remained in hospital with several breaks and fractures, and a punctured lung, during which time eli moved his life back home, fully withdrawing from the navy he took up a job in construction close to home, resorted his life, and spent as much time as he could at his son's hospital bedside until he was well enough to return home. it was the only thing he thanked god for - that his son was saved.
it was hard going, naturally. eli had been reasonably absent from joe's life, and they had to work to learn how to live with each other, alongside the fact that both of them were grieving. eli frequently got it wrong, and cursed himself for it, but he kept at it, and over time things began to work. his job picked up, he got to know his son and things just...clicked. things changed a little again when eli moved himself and joe down south to hickstead, england, when his son was fifteen. eli's father had a heart attack one afternoon on his way home from the post office, and died on the way to the hospital. he's been having heart problems for a little while, but the shock of his death still rocked eli and his family to the core. when a job opportunity arose to work with aircraft machinery down south he took it. joe put up a bit of a fight, but accept that the fresh start would be nice - alana's spirit hung over them both, and it was hard seeing places they both used to go with her every day. and when his father was gone, the feeling of being haunted became worse. the move was pretty easy, and the job was good pay. things have mostly been settled aside from the little issue of joe falling into his father's footsteps. much to eli's dismay, his son fell in love with a young woman, much as eli had done, and within a year of moving to hickstead...he, likewise, had knocked her up. stern words with his son were given, but it wasn't going to change matters. the child was born - a little boy named cole - and despite the fact that, like joe's twin sister, he has downs syndrome, he's the happiest, most loved little boy in the damn country.

Not exactly interesting at first, Faye grew up in a happy home. She got on well with her parents, worked hard in school, had close friends and generally loved life. But that changed when she turned sixteen. It all started with a guy - yep you guessed it - a boyfriend soon turned ex who got nasty. He started following her places and generally causing hassle, until she finally confronted him and asked him to back off, to which he told her that he'd found out she was adopted. Faye figured he'd just wanted to hurt her because of their break-up, but apparently there was also truth in her words.
She confronted her 'parents', who admitted it was true, but though Faye shouldn't have found the news too awful - after all she still loved them - she knew there was something they weren't telling her. She found out soon after, when the arguments got out of control and her 'mother' yelled at her that they'd only taken her in as a promise to her real parents that they would, and that they hadn't wanted her. Hurt, Faye had run for the door and stayed at a friends house.
She'd hoped things would be sorted out by the end of the week, but then things got worse. Diane, having gone driving to head over to where Faye was staying and try and talk to her, and slid across the road and crashed into the nearby lake. She hadn't survived. Devastated, Faye had gone home, trying to sort things out with her 'father' and learning many things. He wouldn't tell her her real parents names, apparently they hadn't wanted her either or something along those lines, but she discovered she had a brother and so she left to find him. She discovered he was in this town, and so moved to Hickstead to try and regain normality to her life, forget about her fake parents and find out more about this sibling and any others she might have.

she was born in brighton, england twenty-seven years ago, the youngster sister to an already four year old boy named joshua. josh was delighted to have a little sister, and was often eager to aid his parents in helping the young baby whenever she was tired or hungry, or upset. for the first three years of her life, flynn was doted upon and she toddled after her brother everywhere, fast growing attached to him and wanting to follow in his larger footsteps. their baby brother was born three years after flynn, the final addition to the family. this time it was flynn wanting to help with the baby too, and the three siblings grew up as close as any other. josh was occasionally pushed to the back a little - being older, coupled with the fact that flynn - whilst the middle child - was female and therefore protected a little more than the boys meant he lacked attention from his parents at times, but what they lacked, he gained it from his siblings, who adored him all the same. occasionally they fought as they grew older, particularly in their teenage years but they got along more than they didn't. they kept each other entertained, playing cricket or football or cowboys and indians or hide and seek in the back yard or, when they were a little older, in the woods near-by. by all means with the three of them being in separate years, they should have drawn apart a little, however they didn't, determined to stick together. when flynn was eleven her parents started to move a lot, her father was trying to get good enough work to support his eventing career and sometimes it was difficult. their education became spotty, lacked a little as they travelled often for a few years before finally their mother begged her father to find somewhere and settle, and they did - on the outskirts of london.
at first this seemed like a great choice, however one evening it all took a terrible turn. now seventeen years of age, josh had been out with friends for the night and upon working back through the lesser known streets of london he'd been mugged. he hadn't been shot, but the mugger had been unkind, and flynn was awoken at two am in order to be dragged to hospital to find out that her eldest brother had been stabbed in the abdomen. he survived thank god, but they quickly packed up and moved back to the countryside, where flynn met the love of her love. she was sixteen when she first met him, he was two years above her but he was sweet, and kind, and romantic, and swept her off her feet. his name was tom and within months of meeting they were dating. she fell hard and fast for the man, and a few years later down the line, they moved in together. she had always wanted to write, and so once she had finished college and then later, a couple of courses at university she settled down with a meaningless waitress job at a cocktail bar in order to help get by a little, whilst her days were devoted to writing and keeping the place in order. it was difficult though, her and tom had moved into the middle of the capital city - and whilst she'd been dubious about moving to london she soon came to adore it, and they lived a student life -partying often, their furniture mismatched but not a care in the world for them. the problem was, it meant that flynn wasn't going anywhere in her life, and it didn't help that as she hit the age of twenty-one she discovered she was pregnant.
it was way too early for the both of them, and cracks soon began to show in their relationship. upon hearing the news, tom stumbled out of the apartment and left. she heard nothing from him for two days until finally he came back....with a ring and proposed. afraid to be alone, flynn accepted and nervously they set a tentative date for some time before the baby would be born. it was by all means a shotgun wedding, but on the build up toward it the plans got them excited and they found themselves looked forward to it, excited by it. they married each other in love...and a few months later had a baby. one year later, flynn filed for divorce. within two weeks of baby liam being born, tom began to get flaky. he would go to work and come home late, claiming to be out with the boys, leaving flynn to deal with the baby all day every day, and she soon slipped into post-traumatic stress disorder, struggling to keep it together. they argued often, their romance died, their passion fell away. tim would switch his phone off for hours at a time, stop coming home some nights, or come home drunk and ignore the baby, ignore his wife. finally, he came out with that fact that he'd cheated on her. devastated, hurt beyond belief, flynn left with liam for a week and returned to her parents, needing a break, needing to heal. she ended up staying for three weeks, during which after a while her and tom began to talk again, slowly at first, but finally decided upon counselling. they went into it whole-heartedly and the rocky marriage settled a little. the next few months were better, and flynn thought everything would be okay until tom lost his job. liam was only six months old when the arguments began again, the staying out late, the secrecy and it all became too much. once again, tom cheated and this time flynn couldn't forgive him. she took liam and once again took off with her son. instead of going home, her eldest brother offered his spare room, but after only a few weeks she felt bad for keeping him and his wife up when the boy cried and all their things were in the way, so back to her parents she went. she filed for a divorce when she was twenty-three, but at first tom refused to sign. in the end it went to court, during which time she set about finding herself a new job, training in a new profession as a nurse in the hope it would open more opportunities for her.
she earned herself enough money in order to support herself and her son and moved away to sussex, becoming a qualified nurse when she was twenty-four after studying hard. she met a guy and dated him briefly for a year and a half, but tom was regularly getting in the way, either by turning up unannounced in order to try and still profess love for his finally now ex wife (who managed to get the divorce finalised when she was twenty-four), or try to take the now two and a half year old child away on the idea that it was 'his weekend with liam' when it wasn't. flynn's new boyfriend mark struggled with the ex constantly being in the way, and not only that but occasionally struggled with liam too. he didn't like coming second to flynn's son, nor did he like having to deal with a child, and no less a child that wasn't his. they began to argue and flynn quickly broke up with him just after she turned twenty-six, afraid that they wouldn't make it through the rocky patches and once again she would end up in a lifeless, dead end marriage and then with a second ex-husband who constantly harassed her. for what felt like the hundredth time, flynn packed up and moved herself and her son to hickstead, where she managed to get herself a cheap apartment and two jobs as a nurse and waitress, learning how to struggle through as always with two jobs and a now almost five year old child. she still struggles from time to time, her jobs make it hard to balance work and family life but she manages and she wouldn't change her son for the world.

she was born of two catholic people who were already married and who already had a two year old daughter. they were a good couple, happily married, both of them volunteered for charity in between working in a florists which was how they'd originally met. marian's parent's had owned the shop, and they'd hired william when she was sixteen and he was eighteen. they'd flirted on and off before going out, dating for only a year before they married and a few years later they had two daughters. hazel was a good kid, she played nice, she was sweet and she liked to take care of people right from the beginning. her and susan got on pretty well throughout their years, despite the occasional little tiff as sisters did, they were close, and susan helped teach hazel many things over the years.
up until she was eighteen, hazel worked in her parents shop, her sister was more ambitious and after school she went off to university to become a hot shot lawyer. hazel remained happy at home, working in the shop and learning how to ride on the side. she has always loved baking however. flowers were not her forte but cookies, cakes and bread was. she began to bake more as she grew older before deciding that one day she would like to own a shop. she began to save money, and with a little help from her parents once she'd decided on her dream, she moved out to england to buy a little bakery. she'd always loved england, and when her family had had a little trip there, a modest little holiday when she was fifteen, she'd adored it and promised to return there.
moving away from her family had been hard but the benefits called out to her, and she soon had set up shop and was really getting somewhere. of course, a few years later her world was finally completely when she happened to meet tristan. as he happened into her little bakery one wintry afternoon in the hope for some warm bread she hadn't been able to help getting all flustered and flirty, and he'd left with not only a loaf, but also her phone number. a few dates later and she'd decided she was already falling in love with the man. he was everything she could ever have wanted and more, and apparently he felt the same about her, for he proposed to her within a year and just a while later they were married. she had always been rather christian, and so she hadn't had many boyfriends, and one of her beliefs was in the idea of sex after marriage. she moved in with tristan once they were married, and ever since she's lived happily along side him, content with her shop and her husband.

hannah's parents never really wanted her. they were too young when they had her, had never planned her or a future together and she'd pretty much gotten in their way. they had a lot of money, and so they mostly left the kid to her own devices as she grew up, giving hannah every she might need - food and toys and such - but they never really spent much time with her, and hannah grew up alone. she never really seemed to mind, she was a surprisingly happy child, though she was always lacking care and she thrived to try and make her parents love her.. to no real avail.
in the end, they gave her away. they put her in a children's home when she turned 6, no longer wanting to keep trying. she went through an almost mute phrase, being passed from her parents to the childrens home was tough on her. from a house where she was often alone, to suddenly being thrown into a place with lots of other kids who weren't very nice and had to fight for everything. she'd never fought for anything before. she barely spoke a word for months, trying to adjust, trying to adapt and learn how to fight to keep what she had or get what she needed.
she toughened up during those years, until she got to the age of fifteen where she couldn't do it anymore. she couldn't live at the kids home anymore, and so she cut school and tried to get a job. she wanted to be able to move out and to get away from people. she managed to get away, she was lucky - she'd always had a good singing voice even if she'd never told anyone and she got a job singing in the local club, earning enough to buy herself a small apartment.. and then she ran like a bat out of hell away from the kids home and never looked back. she'd had her scraps, the occasional night on the street, her life had hardly been brilliant and she'd had her dark parts, done bad things, but she was desperate to get away from it all and she managed to.

Holly was born on a particular snowy evening in December, and earned her name from the moment she opened her eyes and pointed vaugely toward the sight of a holly tree just outside the hospital window. She was always a people person, but was a quiet girl and kept to herself at school, sticking with her close best friend and perfectly happy to blend into the background.
Things were okay until she was eleven - and that's when the problems started. Holly was diagonsed with mild OCD, something she didn't understand but it was not a particularly severe case but it did appear to be worsening. What made it worse, was that over her younger years Holly developed a barrage of heath conditions - from discovering her intolerance of lactose, to the discovery of her Anemia and then the diagnoses of her Asthma. Her parents began to fight, and at first it started over Holly's conditions, but it then began to transpire that there was more to it than that. Her father had been off having affairs and the arguments escalated. Over the next five years, Holly grew up in World War Three. She couldn't stand living at home and she'd take days off and disappear, coming home drunk at all hours. She went through a brief 'rebellious' stage, doing anything to take the attentions of her parents arguments away from each other and to herself if she could but it never really worked.
When Holly was seventeen she tried running away from home. it worked for two weeks, but she ran out of money and knew she had to go home. When she got home, it was to find her mother and brother alone - her father had left. Things settled after a year, and it was better for a little while. Holly left her rebellious phase behind and decided she wanted to help people - though when she realised she disliked the sight of blood she went into Physiotherapy. Once she was into university at eighteen, Holly moved out and got her own apartment - which she shared with her older brother for some time to share costs.
When she was twenty she got her Physiotherapy license and began working as what she wanted to do. She'd learnt how to deal with her OCD and tries not to let anyone see it and she hates talking about her childhood.

Up until she was seven, life for Izzie was pretty good. she had two adoring parents who loved her more than anything, her mother was a surgeon and her father was the head of a company, so they had a nice house and they didn't have to worry about money troubles. Then when she was eight, things went bad. Her mother had some sort of break down. Izzie was never told why and she was too young to remember.
Izzie's dad helped at first, took care of Izzie's mum but within the year he was saying he couldn't do it anymore, and he walked out.. leaving Izzie at nine with a mother she had to take care of. Izzie tried to step up to it, did her best over the years and never told a soul. She couldn't have friends over because of her mum, couldn't go out except for school... she resented it as she got older but she couldn't do anything about it.
When Izzie was seventeen she had a bad experience with a guy. She confided in him, and he was there for her, he helped her with her mum and managed to help get Izzie's mum into a care home so Izzie didn't have to look after her anymore or worry. But it left Izzie with no place to go, and the guy started to get weird. He wasn't the guy she thought he was, he started dealing and trying to get her into it, and trying to control her life and when she wouldn't he got mad at her. She tried ending the relationship but out of nowhere he stabbed her and left her ... Izzie was saved, picked up by a bystander who witnessed the ordeal and recovered in hospital.. to discover that she'd been pregnant when her boyfriend had hurt her, but the baby hadn't survived.
Desperate to get away, and become a doctor, Izzie did everything she could damn well do to get into medical school, and she did. She passed everything with flying colours, studying really hard and making it into an internship, and then as a full doctor.

Jason's childhood was filled with anger, depression, fights, denial and protection. His real father died just before he was born, and his mother latched onto the next man who would have her - Patrick. It could have been happily ever after at that point, Pat adored Jason and his mother. But Jason's mother was unstable, it was later believed she had some kind of condition, and she was frequently off the rails and ended up having an affair with a man named Henry. Nine months later, along came Damon. Henry was a big beefy angry man and Jason hated him from the off. No matter what he was told, Jason would not think of Henry as his father, and in the end, the man gave up on him and turned to Damon, his actual son. Jason instead, turned to his mother, latching on to the only source of love in the family that he had. Though she loved both her sons equally, Jason adored her and was the only one who could deal with her strange mood swings and fits of depression.
As they grew, Jason learned to protect Damon. His brother was quiet and withdrawn, and needed a big brother to look after him. When Henry turned to the bottle however after an accident that left him in constant pain, things changed for the worst. He became violent, and the more the tension rose, the worse their mother became and the more Damon withdrew. Henry turned on Damon, telling the boy he was scaring his mother by withdrawing, and slowly, he began to poison Jason to see the same view. No matter how fiercely he protected Damon, his beloved mother would always come first. He took more beatings for Damon than his brother would ever know, but in turn, he hit back at him too, verbally mostly but turning to physical on the days yelling just didn't cut it.
Then it hit it's head. One evening, Damon didn't come home. Their mother was already having a bad day and she freaked out, losing her mind and saying she couldn't stand it. Henry let loose his anger at Jason, nearly killing him, and then when Damon appeared, he let loose at him too. Somehow, Jason managed to stand up and stop him, despite feeling like he was about to keel over. The problem was that in the midst of all this, their mother couldn't take it. She came out of her room with her hands over her ears, wailing, and got hold of a knife without them seeing. Jason saw her first and went for her, trying to wrestle it away, but Henry was on top of him, still blinded by rage. Jason wasn't sure who had the knife when it plunged into his mother. All he remembers was the hot rush of her blood over his hands and that the strange sobbing sounds were coming from him.
He left after that, moving south to Hickstead. He didn't stop to grab anything, he just left without another word. Damon somehow followed him not long after, and Jason kindly offered him a room to rent - if only to fuck him over. He had an eye on Damon's girlfriend and when the time was right, he pulled her in, encouraging her to have an affair. He hadn't expected to fall in love with her, nor to get pregnant. But it happened. He didn't want a commitment or a child, though Ashley swore the child wasn't his. When she claimed she had proof, he let her go, deciding her and Damon deserved each other. He moved on with his life and met Hiedi, finally settling somewhat into a happier life.

jessie's had a pretty ordinary life so far. she was born one bright sunny morning on the 17th march, twenty-four years ago to two farmers. she was born in devon, and her parents owned a large farm primarily sheep and cows, expanding hundreds of acres. they had a couple of horses too, and three dogs, and at some time a cat - who enjoyed irritating the dogs. jessie was born the third oldest, having two older brothers, then then became the middle child as her parents went on to have two more children; both boys.
jessie didn't mind growing up with four brothers, in fact it was what caused her to become involved in what might be considered guy sports - snowboarding and such. of course there were times when her brothers happened to be a little over protective with her being their only sister, but she didn't mind. over the years, jessie enjoyed growing up on the farm, she was carefree and enjoyed helping her parents, who over the time taught her to ride on one of the ponies they had.
she watched as her oldest brother went off to university to become a lawyer, making the entire family proud; they were all farmers, jessie's parents and parents parents.. and their parents... and they were delighted that their son had done so well for himself. of course, they were happy that their other sons stayed on to learn the family ways...
jessie herself had always wanted to delve into science - and she tried hard in school to get the grades, but whilst she was smart, she wasn't quite able to get what was required to be a technician, and she soon realised that the demands required weren't quite what she wanted, so she signed on to be a lab assistant after finishing college and a couple of years of uni, to get some experience whilst she continued with criminology.

they used to be quite a happy family, living in the middle of london as children wasn't easy but they went to the park often and went to a nice school and all. their parents adored josh and jade, who happened to be twins, josh being two minutes younger than his sister which jade never let him forget. however their parents just weren't happy with their lives - their jobs really. they didn't want to be stuck inside at desks their whole lives, and yet with two young children at the age of four they couldn't travel half way around the world. at first they tried, they took their two children travelling around england and a few other places with them to begin with, but it wasn't fair on them, and their education soon came to lack in places, and so when the twins turned eleven their parents decided it was time to drop them off at their aunt and uncle's whilst they went off to explore the world.
they sent regular cards and letters and presents and called a lot. at first they came home practically every week but soon it became every two weeks, then every three until sometimes they were gone for months at a time. the two children never felt a connection to their aunt and uncle, both were quite strict and old-fashioned christians who just didn't care enough about the two, and so life at home was often tense. josh and jade stuck together throughout it, but as they grew older josh began to resent their parents lack of interest in them both. whenever they rang there was a tension that never used to be there, they were drifting from their parents - they were strangers with their own flesh and blood. even their aunt became more a mother than their own mum, and their uncle more their father despite their strict-ness they still became kinder and more loving toward the two twins.
the last time they spoke to their parents they were both seventeen. they'd received a call from them that they were going to be going to japan for a few months, that they'd call a few days later. the problem was that a few days passed and there was nothing - at first that was normal, they'd gotten out of practice of sticking to deadlines anyway, but when a few weeks and then months passed..and suddenly it was a year the kids knew something was up. it was then discovered that something had happened to their plane, and as their bodies hadn't been found they were told they were classified as missing. several others on the plane had turned up alive hence why the authorities were holding out hope, but as soon as they found out josh declared their parents were dead and that was that. jade still holds out hope but it's been four years now, and there's been no sign.
after college, she decided she wanted to become a teacher - having a particular love of physics and psychology, and so she went to university in london for a year before obtaining a placement - preferring to learn on the job instead of sit in a classroom and watch someone lecture at her. she's actually quite the little genius, finishing her schools with the top grades. she could have gone anywhere and done anything, but she wanted a modest place to work, and a modest job. she chose the hickstead university because in all honesty, living in london wasn't her thing, especially after an incident that happened to her when she was nineteen. she'd been walking home late from her friend's one evening, and she'd headed down a road she walked all the time that wasn't quite one of the mains. someone followed her, and then that someone suddenly had a friend and before she knew it she was cornered. they mugged her, luckily the worst they did was take her stuff and knock her around a little, one of them had had a knife but when she'd given her bag up voluntarily they hadn't stabbed her, and she'd gotten off with a few cuts and bruises, but after that london scared her and moving away made her feel better whilst josh split and went up north to study instead.

joel was born a bastard child, but he never that change things. his mother had an affair with a married man who had a whole family already - she was strung along like a fool and left dangling when she was knocked up. joel's father wanted nothing to do with his son or the woman he had claimed to love, but joel's mother picked herself up and managed regardless as a single mother. joel was not an easy child. free-spirited and hard to pin down he was never naughty and always smiling but he rarely understood the word 'no'. he was always toddling off and exploring, going places he shouldn't, never able to sit still. his mother had him tested for adhd but apparently he just had itchy feet.
growing up didn't change things, he went to school most of the time but had the kind of friends that would follow him anywhere and even encourage, and when he had the ideas to leave school grounds to go exploring a place he'd seen that looked cool or interested - old houses - abandonned ruins - lost tracks - off he went. his grades suffered but he just about scraped through with passes. he didn't want to bother with uni, but his mother nudged him that way for the sake of it. only bothering with a couple of years, joel went for something he knew he would enjoy - sports. aside from his love of adventure, he absolutely loved being busy and active, trying everything under the sun and finding a love of adrenline. he often came home - past curfew - with cut knees or scrapes and even the occasion broken or dislocated bone. it never stopped him.
as soon as he passed his teaching degree, joel left home. with only the money in his pocket, he took a backpack and went travelling. he spent years living off the land, living off the money he made from fly-away jobs, meeting all kinds of people. he got himself in trouble plenty of times, though only thought it dire enough to call home a handful of times, he rekindled a relationship with one of his half brothers - kyle - when travelling across america. he didn't stick around long but kept in touch following this. eventually he joined kyle in hickstead, many years later. he lied and said he needed to settle down, but in actual fact he'd gotten himself in trouble and had been on the run, wanting to lie low (accidentally mixed in with a drug cartel and fucked things up for them without meaning to). he picked up a job at the university and popped back off to travel in degrees when he was sure everything had settled back down for himself - finding he liked settling a little now he was older.

STATUS IN SOCIETY: working class OCCUPATION: dancer/dance teacher at the university EXPERTISE: dancing WEALTH: moderate PROUDEST MOMENT: scarlet's first steps - it would have previously been the first dancing competition she won with luc but her daughter makes her proud every day. she can't believe her and jasper made something so perfect and watching her get to her feet felt like a miracle. MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT: falling in front of the judges and the regional finals for an important competition back home. she had a wardrobe malfunction which had never happened, her heel got caught and she went down. luc managed to save her from hitting her face, but the dress ripped and she gave everyone a good flash as she went. luc covered her up and everyone was nice but it was televised locally and super embarrassing.
Kara grew up the eldest sister in the household, the third of the bunch, and had a pretty wonderful childhood in her eyes. She spent her life running around the neighbourhoods with her siblings, playing games and laughing. She did well at school, she made an effort and kept her head down, never causing any trouble and making sure to look out for her siblings. She made a cluster of friends, but her true friends were her siblings - with only a couple of years between them, it wasn't difficult to get along; aside from the odd usual family scrap.
When Avery started hanging out with a slightly older lad called Luc, Kara's interest was piqued. She didn't have much interest in dating as she hit her teenage years, though she found herself the attention of a few boys in her year, she just wasn't interested. Then there was Luc. She welcomed him into their little family bubble without any reservations and though she wasn't sure what her feelings were, she loved having him join in their games. When her older brother, Dustin, announced he was going off to join the army at fifteen, it was like a kick in the teeth. It was the first time the family truly argued. Her parents refused to let him go, he was underage, but Dustin and his stubborn sense of duty to his country wouldn't let them stand in his way. As he left, Kara found herself turning to Luc, terrified for the safety of her eldest brother.
She had been dancing since she was a child, and she put everything into it when Dustin left, pouring her heart and soul into dance to try and alleviate the worry. When Luc's little sister died in a horrific accident, it was her turn to take care of him, and the way that he had supported her when Dustin had left, she supported him through every moment. She shared her love of dance with him and found him to be a natural. Before long, they were climbing through the ranks and entering competitions - and winning. It was tough going, but Kara's family were always supportive and cheered the two on from the side lines. Somewhere in amongst all the lessons and support, Kara fell in love with Luc, as did he, and they seemed to fall into dating. She thought her life was set - dancing with the love of her life, married with kids a few years down the line, and a little house in the village she grew up in.
It all fell apart when the war came. (( no relation to real life )) Their little village was caught in a line of fire and invaded. They didn't have time to run, they didn't even know it was coming. Luc managed to get them to a safe space, though Kara's parents refused to come, saying they would cover their tracks. There wasn't much time, but her and her siblings made it out, hiding away for several days until Dustin and some of his fellow army crew found them, and got them out. She will never forget the terror of hiding in the abandonned hay shed on an old farm for those four days. It was cold and damp, they'd have barely anything with them, scared to fall asleep in case they were discovered, scared to look outside in case they were seen.
Dustin gave them no choice, and Luc encouraged them to leave. They were set to escape to England, until the fighting stopped. Kara hated leaving France, her world was in turmoil, Dustin told them that their parents had been found but were killed but wouldn't let them go home to see. She didn't want to leave Luc behind, but he wouldn't let her stay, promising that he would come and find her, but that he had to do his duty to save his country. She left with the rest of her siblings, taking up the role of mother to her younger siblings, wanting to look after them. It felt like her family slipped through her fingers - Dustin returned to the army to send home money, Avery then went and joined him, and before long Joe was off as well. Leaving the sisters behind. She did her best, pulling herself together to get a job teaching dance at the university and making their new house a home. When her brothers slowly returning in various degrees of injury, she did her best to look after them.

katerina was born to two modest Italians who fell in love many years ago when they were younger. She was the youngest sibling and she would always be so, for her parents were content with just two children. Matthieu and Katerina were born two years apart but they were always close as children, learnt of the world together even if mattieu was older - he was quieter than his sister, whilst Katerina was always the more adventurous one. Their parents doted upon them but Katerina and her brother were never spoilt - they were taught good values in life and Katerina soon began to help her mother with the housework as she grew, and studied hard at school.
Whilst at school matthieu found an adoration for politics and law, but his sized fell in love with stories and writing. She had written many a story as she grew older which her parents had always cherished and praised her, thinking it was a gift. Her mother was a talented painter and whilst she taught Katerina the same talent her daughter was never quite as good with a brush. Pen and paper on the other hand? That's where the magic happened and by the time Katerina was fifteen she'd already decided upon writing - in particular, journalism. Her father disagreed, journalism meant travel and he had always wished to keep his family close to him - so close in fact that he attempted to arrange a marriage to one of the family friend's sons, Pablo.
Whilst Pablo was a lovely, honest, hard working young chap, Katerina and him held no affections for the other, they were hardly friends. Arranged marriages were not all that uncommon in their part of Tuscany, where fathers jut wanted the best for their daughters. Katerina protested at first, but for her fathers sake she agreed on one date with Pablo. She certainly found him to be a nice man but there was no spark, and outraged when her father refused to accept this she scraped some money together for a brief escape to America.
It was there she fell in love with freedom - her first taste of adventure. She knew little English but she met a boy of her age - seventeen by then - called Sullivan at a local stables. She had been taught to ride in her youth though she'd never had much time to really delve into it as much as she wished. At first she was uncertain of the boy but over her time in America they be and close and he taught her of his language, his city and slowly but surely he worked his way into her heart. Of course it wasn't soon as she'd realised that her father arrived, saw what was happening, forbade it and dragged her back to Italy.
He was not always a nasty man though he occasionally threw a belt buckle her way if she severely misbehaved, but he was a proud family man and he did not wish for his daughter to marry someone not of his choosing. For two years Katerina worked quietly on her studies, began earning at a small job in town and helped her mother with housework. She thought she might not be able to live this life forever and was considering her options when she was told of her father finding someone new for her to marry and that she was to be shipped off to England to be this stranger's new wife.

Her past has always been somewhat shady. When she was a child her parents never made a long enough impression upon her for her to feel anything other than hatred for her. Her father left the moment he found out her mother was pregnant, and her mother was an abuser of all sorts - alcohol, drugs, physically abusive... she had the whole package. Though at the time she didn't realise, she later found out her mother had been under the influence of a dealer. Still, that didn't excuse how she treated Kenzie, and at the age of five she was finally discovered by police and taken into care, her mother was taken away and she never wanted to find out where.
Kenzie didn't last long in care, she despised it but whilst there she encountered something she didn't expect - a half brother. His name was Leon and he was one of the coolest guy's she'd ever met. Before he even knew who she was, he tried to take her under his wing, being three years older than her and already been in the home for four years. He knew the place inside out and he'd worked his way up there. He taught her a lot of what she knew now - the fundamentals; how to pick pocket well, how to fight, how to steal, how to lie. She learnt quickly and fast, growing up to be one of his close friends, helping him when him and his mates went out to steal. No he was not a good influence, but he was the best support and friendship she'd had yet.
She was in and out of foster homes up to the age of fourteen before she gave up. Her brother left and after that she didn't want to know anymore - he was out and she was stuck in a place she despised. She ran, hard and fast and found herself miles away and completely alone. Without meaning to, she lost contact with Leon. At first it was tough but she soon found her way, using what she knew and what she had, creating fake I.D's and moving on the moment any shit hit the fan she travelled most of Canada and some of America. She found it harder to keep under the radar and when opportunity arose to escape Canada and go across the ocean to England she took it, getting into a little bit of personal investigator work when she found herself reunited with her brother and in need of extra cash.
