Welcome to Hickstead, home to both Seven Oak Stables, and Blue Acre - two rival stables. Both offer opportunities for their clients to reach the highest level of excellence. Each stable differs from the other, so choose wisely and never forget, loyalty is everything... Meanwhile as the stables battle it out, there's trouble brewing at the university. Be careful, if you don't pick a side you may get caught in the cross-fire...

Kendra left Chloe with Tobias - it was odd for the two parents to be off of work on the same day but Kendra had been assigned to work security for the event - in case a fight broke out or a child had lost their parents.
She fixed her vest and opened the tent - signaling to the rest of the crowd that they were open. Kendra began her rounds, checking to see if anything was out of the ordinary. So far, everything seemed calm and everyone was behaving nicely.
Auggie smiled at the cold air caved into his lungs. He was ready for the start of the day. He sat in his char in his tent, nursing a blazing hot coffee. His wife sat next to him, crocheting what looked like another baby blanket. Apparently, a lot of her coworkers were popping soon, so she was quite busy.
People began filtering in, some people stopping by to pick up a business card and a I’ll you later. While he was known for traveling repairs, Auggie sold some smaller pieces like wallets and key chains for things like this.
It was unusual for Shi not to be seen without her usual possy. She was sure someone would make a shitty comment if they saw her, but the others had been too busy to come and she was bored and nosey. Dei had gotten himself sucked into weekend detention the tit, Theia had mumbled something about having to run through a theatre scene with another person for a showcase next week; though she half thought that was crap and the girl had gone and curled up elsewhere for a nap. Mal had been nowhere to be seen- probably in someone else's bed. The rest, she didn't know, they hadn't answered her texts desperately pleading for company.
That was how she found herself wandering up and down the isles, a pastry in hand that she nibbled at as she peered into the tents and stands. Nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing that warranted her interest so far - how dull. She had half expected a kissing booth, everyone loved to jump on that bandwagon following the popular Netflix movie, but if that had been the case she was sure she'd have been asked to partake. Tossing her head over her shoulder, she picked another avenue and strolled down.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CAN WE PRETEND THAT AIRPLANES IN THE NIGHT SKY ARE LIKE SHOOTING STARS CAUSE I COULD REALLY USE A WISH RIGHT NOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Demeter parked as close as she could to the table that had been marked for her, and after setting up her gazebo tent, she emptied the animal crates and other things she needed from her truck and parked it in the parking arena before hurrying back and began to set her adoption stall up.
Moving the table so the left front of the tent, she set up the crates around the inside walls of the tent, to allow people to get a good look at the puppies, kittens, cats and dogs she had brought with her that day. "Will you be alright just sitting there?" She asked the solid Staffy cross, who only had three legs, as she set his blanket on the ground under the table and secured the chain clipped onto his collar to one of the tent pegs. On the table she placed the information booklets about each of the animals and the small box that held the two puppies that she was still playing wet-nurse for.
Looking at the tent, she nodded, happy with how it looked, though before she sat down, she taped a sign on the table above the Staffy's nest: Very friendly, likely to licking. With a nod, she lifted one of the Shepherd puppies from the box, along with a bottle from her bag and sat down to feed the puppy as she watched the people walking around, hoping that some of the animals she had brought today would find their forever home.
Had Eli known about it in advance, he might have volunteered to help for the day. Following his stint in the army and his life of fixing things, mechanics and handy man knowledge, he figured he could have quite easily picked up a tent with general fix it things or something similar. The grandson hanging excitedly off his arm would have enjoyed helping too, but unfortunately he had only found out about it the other day, and instead had promised his son he would take Cole out to see the sights instead. Joe was due to come and find them in around half an hour, having requested to finish shift early so he could spend time with his son and father. He'd been working hard this month, taking on extra work, and Eli was both proud and concerned - he didn't want him to burn out.
"Wants ice cream!" Cole's little finger pointed excitedly toward an ice cream van, churning them out as fast as he could whilst the queue just kept coming. Eli smiled slightly, having been eyeing up the burgers himself, but if his grandson was placated by a mess of sugar, it might mean he got to eat his own lunch without sharing too much. "Alright then," He agreed, gently leading him over by the hand to join the queue, Cole's smaller legs toddling alongside his. "With sprinkles?" He asked, smile widened as the kid started nodding so fast he looked like an impression of a bobble head. Eli laughed, "Okay you got it."
Jude startle woke up Cal in the am. The young boy was jumping up and down on the bed, screaming with joy. Poor Jenna couldn’t stop him fast enough and apologized profusely. Cal just smiled and picked up his nephew with one arm and carried him out of the bedroom like a little rag doll. “Someone’s excited about the festival!”
His nephew let out another giggle before Cal put him down. Jude ran away to his grandma’s room, most likely about to give her the same awakening. Reagan was, unfortunately, battling a little cold, so she would be staying home with her parents and grandma. So it was just Jude and Cal for the day.
While he wasn’t expecting to oversee a six-year-old for the day, Cal wasn’t mad about spending time with his nephew. If anything, it allowed him to leave early. With Jude close by, Cal walked the young boy through the stands. His eyes landed on the pony rides and Cal knew right away, that was the first thing he wanted to do.
“Which one do you want to ride?” Cal asked. Jude looked up and pointed to a brown horse with white spots. “That one, please!” Jude replied, giving a big grin – showing he had lost both his front upper teeth.
Erin smiled as she wandered from one stall to the next. She didn't have much money, she was still struggling to find work - with not much of an education and quite a few gaps in occupation, not many people were looking to hire her. She had no idea what she wanted to do, and she was trying not to feel downtrodden by it, but she was toying with the idea of going to college - she just didn't know what for. For now, she spent time volunteering at the local homeless shelter, having once been one of the people who had used it, it felt good to give back.
Dylan had baby Rae for now, giving Erin a much needed break. Unemployed meant looking after the newborn was easy but she was also home 24/7 and it had begun to drive her a little crazy. She paused at one of the set ups that had cages, her heart drawn toward the cute animals and she wandered over. They did have a scrappy little dog at the flat, and with a newborn she had enough to look after... but... she wandered from cage to cage and then saw the staffy cross sat under the table and her heart gave a squeeze. "Well, hello there little guy,"
Kenzie had taken some time off from the town of Hickstead. She'd gotten herself into a little bit of trouble and had to scatter, calling in sick to the university - and they'd believed it. She'd helped out one of her cousins on a job, shifting some dodgy gear that had fallen off the back of a lorry, and they'd been raided. Kenz had been furious. That wasn't normally her kind of work, and the one time she helps her cousin, she gets herself into shit. She'd escaped the police, but she'd had to stay scarce for a little while.
She'd missed the town though, and it felt good to be back - and not have to look over her shoulder too much. The very day she had returned she had stumbled across this whole thing, and she wondered what she'd missed whilst she'd been away. She wandered down the isle curiously, lighting up when she spotted food and she hurried over to get in line for a burger.
e had almost forgotten what day it was. Between teaching at the school and helping his friends back home write songs for their new album - the man was busy.
After checking the calendar on his phone, he quickly got ready - thankful that his guitar was always in it's case. He picked up the black case on the way out of the flat, sliding his feet into a pair of red hi-tops. It had seemed that Harper had already left as her shoes were gone.
Aaron had to look up where he was going and entered the address in his phone before driving off to the park. Once he arrived, the man consulted a map to see where the stage was located. It didn't take him too long to find and he took a quick glance at what people were offering.
Reaching the stage, he saw that the sound equipment was all ready to go - so he began setting up his own area of the stage.
ulpi looked around and saw there were already quite a few people rummaging around. The smell of food, alcohol and horse was an odd mixture. Thankfully, Una was a well behaved and trained dog – though situations like this would make a decent training center. It would truly weed out the ones that were ready.
She wheeled her way over to the line to a food tent. It wasn’t too terribly long, so it wasn’t going to test her patience like something like this could. Nulpi found herself behind a woman, looking around for someone or something. Well, that wasn’t uncommon for something like this. “Quite the line, isn’t it? What are they offering?” Is that how small talk happened?
Jamie had arrived to the fundraiser, placing his daughter in her stroller before locking up the car. Rosa was asleep - Jamie glad that he had caught her during her nap time. It would make it easier for the man to enjoy the outing.
He pushed the stroller along, taking in the sights and smells of what was going on. Jamie stopped at the horses - smiling at another man and child. "Look at the horses, Rosa." He knew his daughter couldn't talk but Jamie couldn't help but talk to her. "Your paint is very stunning." He said to the man who was standing beside the horse. His mother would be proud that he remembered his horse breeds.
Alana let out a yawn as she woke up to attend to something that she was used to doing. Though today would be the first time to not vend. Jon was running a little something but she couldn’t remember what. Alana got dressed and made some egg sandwiches with tomato, bacon, and swiss cheese. Coffee was picked up and Alana made her way to the fundraiser.
It took a minute for Alana to find Jon, but she did. A smile crossed her lips. “Good morning, sweets! I got coffee and breakfast,” Alana beamed, holding up the two coffee cups.
