“She likes the idea, but if I take too long – she’ll throw a fit. I guess I keep her too long from her hay, or that sweet, sweet dust pile.” Nat stopped the water and opened the canister to put some shampoo in. Pippi seemed to roll her eyes but managed to stay still as Nat began spraying her down.
“So, how long have you been riding at Blue Acres?” she asked. Might as well get to know this person a bit, if she was allowed to. Nat liked to converse but was okay if someone asked for silence. So far, Jessi was willing to humor her. Despite riding here, Nat still didn’t know enough people around here on a good friend basis. She was friendly, of course – but never did the bestie thing.
Around spring break, but I think there's another thing happening around it too. Something your boss is doing? IDK. There's so many rich people things..I think a suit will suffice.
Natalie couldn’t believe she was dragged into a formal gala. Not that she didn’t mind them, but it meant Charlie would most likely be there. She didn’t know why it bothered her so much that he would be. He was probably feeling the same way about it. Maybe if Mrs. Renée Hahn wasn’t hosting a fundraiser for animals – then the chance of Nat being there would be a big, fat negative one thousand. But since the rich and ass kissers would be attending, Natalie wasn’t able to avoid seeing Charles in a suit. It appeared that a lot of the law students would be at the event due to the connections and networking chances.
The young woman found herself sitting in a penthouse suit of the Silver Stag hotel. Harlow and Kennedy were running behind due to their separate riding lessons and needing a three-hour freshen-up session. It wasn’t the first time the three women would be experiencing a luxury event such as this. However, Nat couldn’t help but wonder if the other had caused any grey hairs for her Sister in Law.
While from a wealthy background, there were things that Harlow and Kennedy did that made zero sense to Nat. Maybe it was because Ama was her family, so she received benefits that the others didn’t. Mainly her formal wear came at a heavily discounted price. Or she had first dibs on Ama’s designs.
It didn’t take long for the ding of the elevator to be heard and the chattering of her friends to come barreling through. “Dang, at least making me sit here and almost eat all the chocolate was worth it. I see you both decided on a blowout before a dress fitting?” Nat teased, popping a white chocolate-covered pineapple piece in her mouth.
SIL is hosting a fancy shin dig. I'm sure Ky already told you. But I hear some networking people that would interest you, will be there. Wanna go? We can be miserable together.
“Well, I think all equestrians could say that.” Natalie laughed. Pippi tended to show off if a camera was involved. Prancing, as Natalie was trying not to fall off right away. That was a hard lesson learned when Natalie asked someone to film her the first time riding Pippi.
“Ah, this is Pippi. She’s only behaved now. I can’t guarantee this good behavior will be leaving with her after her bath.” Once Natalie felt most of the chunks of mud were off, she placed her comb back and started the hose to wet Pippi down before going knuckle deep.
