The last of the autumn sun fought its way through the clouds and Dani was using her free period to soak up some much needed vitamin D. The brunette was propped up on her elbows, laying down on a blanket on the grass of the quad with her head tilted slightly to the sky, basking in the sunlight. Alone. Her friends were either stuck in class or galivanting somewhere else. It seemed like all of them were in relationships now which was weird. It started off with Jack knocking up his teachers aid but then some how spiralled into the rest of the gang getting a significant other. Deimos had been a shock, she hadn't seen that one coming. . and Theia for that matter. Malachai and Shiloh had always had some strange underlying tension which they were currently working out. She was the last one standing. Relationships had never interested her. Her fear of abandonment was probably to blame.
She didn't mind being alone. In fact, she quite enjoyed time to herself. Well, if that time to herself included her four legged best friend. If she was being honest, she probably preferred spending time with her dog than her friends and she'd openly admit it if they ever asked. A yelp escaped her when her thoughts were rudely interrupted as something, or rather someone tripped over her body, taking half of her blanket with them. "Shit. Sorry about that. Uh...are you okay?" She sat up, massaging her ribs gently as she rested her eyes on the lanky guy opposite. "I'll survive. Do you have two left feet or are you just blind?"
"Business? Well then, guess I'm safe then. I'll still try and give the guy a wide berth though when I work on scheduling for the next semester." She smirked slightly and nodded. ”Yeah, avoid him if you can.” She agreed. "They defilingly are. Probably should have retired by now, although I do hear that there's a criminology professor that brings his dog to class." She grinned ”Wait seriously? That I have to see.” She loved dogs. She currently had her own living illegally in her dorm room. "Ah well, considering your devoting your weekend morning to writing over here in the on the second wing, I think you're safe at passing." She smiled, taking the praise. ”Thanks, hopefully that rings true” She’d never been the most academic growing up, considering the uproot of her life but she had managed to scrape by in her entrance tests and get into the campus. "What made you pick business though?" She shrugged her shoulders. ”It’s one of the majors I need to apply for the marketing course. . and I figured a career in the business department would make the most money.”

"A third assignment? That sounds like overkill to me. I don't think I've had the luxury to take a class with him though. I take it he's a professor to avoid then?" She smiled when the guy agreed with her. She wasn’t being overly sensitive on the matter then. ”Right!? Like we don’t have enough work to do already. He’s alright I suppose. . just likes to pile on the work. He’s one of the business studies professors.” She explained. She quirked a brow at the Cheshire cat smile that appeared to grow at the mention of her name. "Teddy, pleasure to meet you, Dani.” She returned the smile. ”Likewise Teddy.” She repeated, hoping to remember his name.
"Art Student, with an independent study in comic design. Although I'm stuck taking an English class. So I've made it my mission to try and teach the old bat that graphic novels are indeed an English art form. It's been an uphill battle thus far when all what he wants to talk about is the Jane Austen and the like." She smirked slightly and nodded. ”Yeah some of the teachers are definitely stuck in their old ways.” She agreed. "What do you major in? I can't say I've seen you before.” She shifted the laptop onto the arm of the chair, giving her space to curl her legs up on the seat to get into a more comfortable position. The guy gave off the vibe that she’d be chatting for a little bit longer. ”I’m just about to finish my A levels in Media & Business studies. . hoping to start my Marketing degree in September if I pass.”

Danielle sat at the vanity in her hotel room as she finished applying her makeup. It had been too long since she’d had a proper night out and she was in the mood to go all out. Makeup, hair, dress, heels. All of it. The one nightclub in town had long gotten old and it was only on rare occasions she would make an effort with her outfit and appearance. It was always full of the same people and she was definitely not trying to impress any of them. The city however was a whole new sea of fish. Multiple clubs meant more fun. She stood up and moved over to the bed, singing along to the music coming out of her phone that was plugged into the wall. Dani stripped down to her underwear, pulled on her heels then slipped the little black dress laying on the bed over her head, sliding her arms through the straps. Moving back to the mirror, she ran a hand through her hair, setting it in place with some hairspray before applying a light pink lip gloss and checking her reflection. "are you going to take hours and hours to get ready like last time? because if you are i'm going to go start getting drunk down in the hotels bar." She smiled and rolled her eyes at the sound of a knock and her best friend’s voice coming through the door. ”I’m ready jackass” She shouted back. She grabbed her phone and bag from the table, turning off the music as she headed out of the door. ”I don’t take hours and hours to get ready. It doesn’t take long to look this good.” She smirked.
After typing a decent intro to her assignment, Dani paused for a moment to plan her next move, absentmindedly pulling a piece of hair over her shoulder and twirling it around her finger. "One of your professors already through a paper your way too?" A voice broke through her own thoughts and brown eyes lifted from the screen, landing on the boy opposite her. He’d been so quiet she hadn’t even noticed him. "And here I thought Professor Brown was the only jerk to do such a thing." She half smirked and rolled her eyes. ”Yeah, Mr Nelson thinks our brains need exercising after half term. The 2 assignments he’d dished out before we finished for Easter clearly slipped his mind.” In all fairness, the tasks had been pretty easy in comparison to some of the curriculum on the course so she hadn’t minded. This new assignment however was proving difficult already, which wasn’t a good sign. She rested her head back against the armchair, her attention still on the male. ”I’m Dani. . what’re you studying then?”

The brunette pulled out her phone and scrolled through the different social media apps while she waited for Maverick to arrive. She half jumped at the feeling of something on top of her head and glanced up, smiling when she realised it was Mav. "oi oi." She eyed the bag and boxes in his arms and watched him put them down. "so how many brownie points does this win me?" She flipped open the pizza boxes and grinned. ”many many brownie points.” She picked up a slice of the cheese and took a bite, savouring the flavour. ” soo good.” She looked at Mav and lifted a brow as he drank from the whiskey bottle. ”No mixer?” She half smirked. Using her free hand, she reached into the bag for the fruity liquor, pulling it out in one motion before twisting off the cap and taking a sip.
Danielle headed out of her dorm room after saying goodbye to the cute curled up ball of fluff on the end of her bed. The labradoodle was out for the count and would be for some time after the run they had been on this morning. There had finally been a break in the rain they’d had in the past few days so she had seized the opportunity – although she didn’t mind running in the rain, her dog had other ideas. The brunette shifted the tote on her shoulder as she locked the door behind her before walking towards the common room. She needed to finish an assignment for class but she was in desperate need of a change of scenery.
Staring at the same four walls was driving her insane but she knew if she went to hang out in one of her friend’s dorms, she would end up being distracted and the coursework would be forgotten. Reaching the lounge area, she moved over to one of the armchairs and sat down, placing her bag onto the table in front her and pulling out her laptop, opening it up on her lap. Sighing, she propped her feet up on the coffee table and began tapping her fingers against the keys.

Dani slung the beach bag over her shoulder as she headed out of her dorm room, saying a quick goodbye to her dog as she did. She still didn't know how she had gotten away with hiding a dog in her room for so long. It wasn't exactly like she hid him. She was discreet about the times she took him outside and off campus but she was still fairly certain a few staff members had seen her leaving with him. She wasn't concerned about any of the students seeing him since half were to scared to get on the wrong side of her and the company she kept. They always came in handy, she could look out for herself - she always had, but back up was always welcomed.
She pulled her beanie down further onto her head when the cool autumn wind hit her face as she stepped out of the dorm building. She'd arranged to meet Maverick at the beach to eat pizza and drink alcohol - two of her favourite things, however she didn't own a car so she was doing the twenty minute journey on foot but she didn't mind. If it wasn't for the bag, she would have probably jogged there. Dani slipped her earbuds under her hat, into her ears and pressed play on her phone. Music would make the walk more bearable.
Reaching the beach, she looked around the car park to see if anyone else had decided to do an evening beach visit but it was deserted. Perfect. She wasn't in the mood to get dirty looks for drinking out in public. She walked onto the sand and found a nice spot before pulling out a blanket from the bag and laying it on the ground. Mav had questioned the idea but she wanted to be comfy and not get sand everywhere. She would probably be doing cartwheels and rolling around in the sand after a few drinks but sober dani had higher standards. She dumped the bag down on one of the corners then sat down to wait for Mav.
