his was probably a stupid idea coming to Hickstead University. He didn't belong here, and it wasn't a figurative statement. Zayn Blake literally was trespassing to a degree. There was no student I.D. in his pocket, but in his defense, if the school didn't want street urchins like him invading their space, then maybe they should have put up some fences. He missed college, well, what little of it he had attended before dropping out and fleeing due to hanging out with the wrong crowd. Sometimes Zayn just liked to tease himself - to come to Hickstead and walk around like a real college student once more, even if it felt like a slap in the face.
Maybe it was silly, maybe he should just go head back to the pier and the beach like the bum he was, or go back to hanging out at the skate park where he could chill all day and flirt with the skater girls who showed up. Yet, sometimes, Zayn got tired of the same old stuff. There was a lack of adventure in his life recently, and coming on campus when he shouldn't? Well, that was the thrill of it all. That, and maybe running into a cute girl. As the thought entered his head though, a negative thought entered the young man's mind though, "No uni girl would ever want to hang out with you once they realize that you're homeless and scourging by, Zayn," he thought darkly to himself, before shaking his head to clear his thoughts, his mop of brown hair going with the flow of the movement.
Ignoring his thoughts, Zayn took a right and headed onto the quad now. The large greenery welcoming him with the beautiful sight of green grass, fall foliage trees, dudes playing ultimate frisbee or football, and best of all, girls sunbathing. Yeah, they were fully clothed, but it was still a nice sight. Deep brown eyes took it all in, perhaps too well, since he hadn't exactly been watching where he was going or putting his feet as he tripped right over something or someone. Oh, well, the yelp that escaped them, it was defilingly a someone. Zayn just about face planted into the ground, not bothering to brace for impact as he hit the ground and his legs tangled up in someone or their blanket. Wincing a little, he rolled over and perched himself up, feeling a little dazed as his eyes settled on a girl now, "Shit. Sorry about that. Uh...are you okay?"
The last of the autumn sun fought its way through the clouds and Dani was using her free period to soak up some much needed vitamin D. The brunette was propped up on her elbows, laying down on a blanket on the grass of the quad with her head tilted slightly to the sky, basking in the sunlight. Alone. Her friends were either stuck in class or galivanting somewhere else. It seemed like all of them were in relationships now which was weird. It started off with Jack knocking up his teachers aid but then some how spiralled into the rest of the gang getting a significant other. Deimos had been a shock, she hadn't seen that one coming. . and Theia for that matter. Malachai and Shiloh had always had some strange underlying tension which they were currently working out. She was the last one standing. Relationships had never interested her. Her fear of abandonment was probably to blame.
She didn't mind being alone. In fact, she quite enjoyed time to herself. Well, if that time to herself included her four legged best friend. If she was being honest, she probably preferred spending time with her dog than her friends and she'd openly admit it if they ever asked. A yelp escaped her when her thoughts were rudely interrupted as something, or rather someone tripped over her body, taking half of her blanket with them. "Shit. Sorry about that. Uh...are you okay?" She sat up, massaging her ribs gently as she rested her eyes on the lanky guy opposite. "I'll survive. Do you have two left feet or are you just blind?"
hat yelp that escaped the young woman was probably going to haunt him for a bit. He really hadn't meant to trip over her, hopefully she would understand that. Zayn could never tell with these Uni girls, even back home at London, they either loved him or loathed him with nothing in-between. Even with that thought, and his earlier thoughts in the back of his mind, as brown eyes fell on the girl before him, Zayn Blake couldn't help but to feel a little smitten. Although the fact that she was rubbing her ribcage under that baggy hoodie of hers was a wake up call along with her choice words.
"Clearly, I was blinded by you," he joked now, offering a cautious smile, "Nah. Sorry, that was a terrible joke. I did have my head up in the clouds though. Honestly didn't see you." Somewhere in the back of his mind, Zayn knew he should get up and leave. Technically, the young man was trespassing across campus and the last thing needed was attention to be drawn to himself. On the other hand, this grumpy brunette, in her baggy sweats, was awfully cute. Zayn knew he was defilingly trapped between a rock and a hard place, even if it was his doing, "I'm Zayn, by the way," he prompted now, before asking eagerly, "What's your name?"
