Zo couldn’t help but smile and laugh in response. “Don’t worry, it isn’t anything personal. I just need another set of eyes. Fresher than mine now. It’s for my marketing class, and I don’t know if I should keep it simple or not.” Zo opened another file, split screening it with the original one she was working with. They both had similar attributes, but one was simpler compared to the other. The original was a bit busier, and the colors had a bit more punch. The second was simple, with more true color editing.
“Which one do you think draws your eye in?” Zo didn’t know if she was asking the right person, but the point of marketing was to draw anyone in, right? A lot of the fruit marketing made things look delicious, and almost sensual depending on what it was. Thankfully, she wasn’t aiming for that part. Just to make her family’s crop look like the best thing out there.

Zosia smiled when the girl answered with her name and the drink. Roisin had long, dark blonde hair that cascaded in waves. It's a bit dangerous way to dance at the club. Or maybe it was Zosia’s fear. She always liked to have her hair slicked back, since the last time she had it down – a creep yanked on it. A frilly lace white jumpsuit and boots, Roisin was giving more cottage core chic than the city floral Zosia was giving.
“Pleasure to meet you Roisin,” Zo smiled. “I’m Zosia but you can call me Zo. Lucky for you, I just got here,” she added. Zo managed to get a bartender quickly, as most people had drinks in hand. The bartender was one that Zo had seen before, Harper. She was dangerously sweet to all patrons – but could be sharp as a blade if needed.
“Hi Harper,” Zo cooed. “I’ll have a Flutter-By and two shots of Tequila with lime.” Harper gave her signature; you got it to look and two thumbs up before she began preparing. Zo returned her eyes to Roisin. “Are you waiting for anyone tonight?” she inquired since girls often ran in groups in places like this.

Zo was ready for the spring semester to wrap up, but also wasn’t ready for things to go too fast. While the schoolwork was tiring and sometimes overwhelming, it was better than being stuck at home when she didn’t need to be. Thankfully, right now – she could focus on the project in front of her.
The project wasn’t too terrible, a marketing thing. Zo and her class were tasked with taking photos and creating their own advertisement. She had taken a few photos and was now stuck in one of the design labs. Her idea was pretty simple, as it was produced based. Something about cherries, a subject Zo had been able to photograph a bit.
Her eyes were strained, from school and work. Was it already…4 PM? She rubbed her eyes and let out a yawn. After struggling a bit, she noticed another student. “Hey,” she started. “Can I get your opinion on something?”

Zosia gave herself a small glance in the mirror of her room that resided in her sibling’s apartment. She was thankful that her older sib allowed her to stay with them during her school year. It was a shame this was pretty much her last year, but Zo told herself to not dwell on that right now. The nightclub was having a fun party, something to welcome in the warm weather. There wasn’t a theme per se, but it was chatted that pastel colors and all that were welcomed. So, it was very lipstick lesbian to Zo, something she hadn’t worn in a minute. She had been living in jeans and sweaters for the last few weeks.
After putting on a light pink gloss and running her fingers through her hair, Zo gave a cute little kick of her leg and grabbed her small purse and a light jacket. It was still a bit chilly, but the warm air was coming through. She and her sibling made their way to the club, where the music was blasting and the drinks already flowing. Zo didn’t know how long she would last tonight, but it was all about the fun. She could sleep in tomorrow for sure.
Zo found herself following her siblings and their friend group to the bar. There was some fun, glittery-looking themed drinks. A girl, close to her age was holding what looked like a pastel purple cocktail. It had a flower on top, in a martini glass it looked like. Giving a glance at the specials, Zo guessed it was the Blue Moon. “Woah,” Zo grinned. “Looks like they went all out. How does that taste?”

identifying features• Zosia is at the middle, average height of 5'-5". She carries herself a bit bulkier than those around her, mainly from her love of Taekwondo and track. Zosia can read as a girly girl, lipstick lesbian - but also loves the tom-boy, masc look. It all depends on how she's feeling that day, but will often go for comfort for the most part. Her sleek hair is never seen longer than the top of her shoulder blades. She sometimes has the urge to dye and bleach it but is too scared. So, she likes to get fun colored extensions put in. Less commitment.
the personality

She loves being outdoors, rolling in the mud – but also dresses nicely and goes to the art museum for hours on end. An extrovert and introvert, Zosia loves a good party to escape her reality. But she also needs her alone, quiet time – focusing on her hobbies. Her friends and siblings are giving her full self, all the emotions someone can get. Mainly as compensation for the ones she doesn’t show her parents. Zosia is quite walled off by her parents, only showing the things she wants them to see. She’s not particularly happy about it but mainly wants to keep herself in good standing. A decision that makes her older siblings look at her with a questioning eye. Unfortunately, she hasn’t shown any emotional strength to completely leave like they did. It’s also given her some weird savior complex towards her parents, something only recently she has found to be a detrimental trait. She loves her parents and desires to save them from their minds. But after starting therapy, Zosia is finding out the hard way – that there may not be anything to save.
the history
father • Yúzé, owner of Mulberry Creek Orchard, 56 mother • Katarzyna, owner of Mulberry Creek Orchard, 54 siblings • --- --- Li, 25 --- --- Li, 23 --- --- Li, 16 important people • ROISIN ABIGAIL MALLOY , enemy to historical roommate hometown • Born: Chengdu, Raised: Złotna + Hickstead overall history • Zoisa is the second youngest child out of four, born to Katarzyna and Yúzé. She grew up in Złotna, Poland after being born in Chengdu, China. Her mother’s family was a line of talented, hardworking farmers – while her father came from engineering and technology. It was an interesting pair, but it made the family quite well off.
The family moved to Hickstead when Zosia was thirteen, as her parents believed they exhausted their resources in Poland. Her mother and father found a massive amount of plain acreage - and started from the ground up, focusing on species like Figs, Plums, and Apricots. Seeing things like Apples and Pears beneath their energy level to care for and improve.
Zosia never got a reality check about her parents until she was in her later teen years of sixteen and seventeen. She witnessed her parents arguing with their neighbor. Zosia didn’t get a gist of what was happening, but it was enough of a reaction that made her look at her parents in a different light. The interaction made her ask her older siblings, both who ran for Hill when they could. They offered some insight, the main issue being their parents had started to get this weird paranoia over them. Zosia still didn’t quite understand, thinking that her siblings may have been fabricating something to hide the real reasons they were so happy to leave home.
Despite her parents’ odd grasp on Zosia and her siblings, they were quite supportive in their academic and personal life decisions. Especially when Zosia came out when she was eighteen. It was something that had been eating her alive, mainly due to the idea of rejection and disappointment. But her parents were happy for her and gave her resources to use. Their excitement was the same when Zoisa got a full athletic scholarship to Hickstead University for track and field. They did show some concern when she opted for graphic design, but after some explanation – they were onboard for the most part.
Unfortunately, her parents’ behavior towards their neighbors and community got weirder. Large hedges and fencing were put up, almost like a protective fortress. She didn’t quite understand why. Zosia knew her family had a lot of specialty seeds and even solar panels, but were those reasons good enough to have such a prison-like feel to the property? Every time she questioned it, her parents would just say she would understand at some point. Sadly, Zosia still never and hasn’t understood.
Over time, Zosia became a bit apathetic towards her parents’ behavior. Almost like some survival mode. Even though she lived with an older sibling during school, summers, and holidays – Zosia was stuck at home. She became the prized sibling after her older ones cut contact, a title she dreaded.
Currently, in her final year of Uni, Zosia is hoping to break free from her parents’ grasp – but is in a fighting battle with her heart and head. Her brain tells her to leave and never look back, but her heart tells her that her parents are sick and she could fix them.
