Em gave a light smile, “She and she will probably have my attitude until oh God how old was I when I mellowed out, oh never mind that thought but anyways.” She gave a laugh and looked over at him before taking a drink of her tea, he spoke again and she nodded, “I’m making notes in my head of everything to get and where also don’t tempt me to stop by your work if your never not responding I might just do it and give you an earful.” She winked and laughed, Em couldn’t imagine having to deal with putting together furniture now or post, heck she could hardly function now. She was starting to get that waddle and the pregnancy brain was becoming real, like scary real. “I mean I really shouldn’t do any more shopping but it never hurts, baby girl needs things and I could always use things for my classroom and to decorate my home but I should definitely be keeping an eye on the time so I’m not late to work either, though I have some leeway.” Smiling she looked at the stalls as the passed by, stopping at one to buy a pack of llama themed security blankets for baby girl and a couple nuks as well as a fruit and veggie sleep n play. “ you have to be so terribly bored I’m so sorry, oh and don’t feel like you have to be in a rush to get the furniture done there maybe sometime.” She laughed, “ok for torturing you show me one stall that you are interested in and I will get you something from it as a thank you and for being my hero in my time of need.” She took another drink of her tea and looked over at him waiting.
“Well thank you but I would have been fine with a little boy too, now I’m going to be dealing with a mini me and the attitude oh goodness someone better be praying for my soul when she is a teenager.” Em spoke with a laugh, he spoke again saying he was jealous that she would get to have good BBQ and she gave him a smile, “I would so bring some back for you if it wouldn’t go bad and maybe I will have to try that place out one of these days, I guess I have been such a homebody lately.” She gave a little frown before looking at him as he began to speak again. How could someone not be understanding that life happens and you couldn’t always be by your phone? “well I guess you found the one person who understands that life happens and you can’t always be by your phone.” Smiling she nodded, “nope you can’t now but I will forgive you if you do “ Laughing she rolled her shoulders once he took her bag and the comfortably walked in silence while she window shopped all the while waiting for his response which he finally gave her. Em smiled, “no not IKEA and just tell me what kind of beer you like and I will have it stocked in my fridge and it won’t be take out fried chicken it will be homemade that’s the only way.” With a smile she waited while he ordered his coffee and then spoke once more, “sounds good to me and not a rush per say just would like to have it done and set up, there’s always a possibility I could go a few weeks early or even be pass my due date.” Em didn’t want to seem like she was in a rush to get things done but it was just something on the list. “Well shall we continue our walk?” She spoke again looking at him.
“I’m doing well Olympia and yes almost time not quite, I hope you are doing well too?” She questioned catching the little snort by Olympia for the look she had just given. Em found herself looking down at her next remark her cheeks a slight pink color, so they were just friends well it was wrong of her to assume anything else, “well thank you for the invite I think it sounds like fun and no baby daddy in the picture that’s a bit of a sore subject and part of the reason I moved over here, he was not a great man.” Em gave a smile and watched as Olympia seemed to get lost in her own thoughts for a moment of time and then jump into the forgotten gifs from the baby shower the teachers had thrown her, “oh yes I’m so sorry I keep forgetting to grab them I have been so busy with planning the math bowl and getting the kids ready for that, that it just simply slipped my brain I will grab them today before I leave,” she smiled again and looked at Jax and the flowers he was holding, he definitely had a talent in that department they were beautiful arranged and just the right amount of color but not too much. “Oh I am sorry for intruding on your guys conversation I definitely did not mean to step on any toes.” Em spoke once more looking between the two of them.
She blushed at his comment and then gave a light laugh, “I mean double stuffed Oreos aren’t terrible they actually do hit the spot every so often and no I wasn’t trying to keep it a secret just found out last week actually and besides my parents I didn’t really have anyone to tell .” She smiled and adjusted her bag on her shoulder, watching him as he spoke about how it will be a good thing, “maybe it will be but only because of my parents and maybe a little bit for the food too, good ol BBQ now I’m excited.” She spoke with a laugh as he spoke again and Em nodded, it could be quite hard to stay in contact but she tried for the sake of what friends she did have but to her it just seemed they didn’t want to give her the time of day anymore. “im not holding that against you, you have a life and are dealing with family issues im patient and can wait and look we met up on our own fate is funny that way.” Em spoke with a smile as they started to walk, she found herself smiling at his next comment, “actually if you wouldn’t mind carrying my bag for me it’s getting a little heavy.” She slid the bag from her shoulder and held it out for him to take and when he did she found herself rolling her shoulders, “thank you,” Em spoke taking a sip of her tea, scanning the booths as they walked by them on the way to the coffee booth. “Jax would you be willing to come and help put together a crib and a few other things?” She asked softly almost seeming embarrassed to be asking such a question.
As he spoke, she gave him a nod, “dealing with family can be a disaster sometimes but it can also lead to great things, things you may have never expected to find.” She spoke watching him closely as he seemed to zone out, Em was curious about what was going on in his mind, but she knew better than to push things, in the past it had never gotten her anywhere. He seemed to snap out of it, and she watched as his eyes scanned over her making her feel a touch self-confident. She gave a light laugh and her cheeks flushed, “I wouldn’t say glowing far from I feel like an overstuffed Oreo, but I know she is healthy and growing.” Em placed her hand on her stomach and gave it a small rub, “not much actually just trying to get her space squared away and of course my mom wants to throw an elaborate baby shower so I have to fly home for that, not that I really want to, but I can’t say no to mama bear other than that just working.” She paused and looked at him and then laughed, “wow don’t I sound so lame and unexciting I should probably change that.” Em smiled and shifted her bag. "Then again kind of hard to change something when there isn't much fun for a pregnant lady and people only think to call you for a sober ride home or call you and forget you moved across the ocean.” Em gave another light laugh, "miss your tea is ready.” The women at the stand spoke Em turned and gave a smile taking the tea and stepping off to the side to take a sip of the fresh beverage, “care to walk around before I have to see myself off to work?” she asked looking at Jax.
“please remember to do your math packets and return them to me next week.” Em managed to get out before the last bell rang and the kids packed up there things and bolted. Shaking her head she sighed and started packing up her own things into her bag. Dropping it over her arm, she grabbed her cup of water and flipped the lights off heading out of the classroom and meeting up with another math teacher they made their way to the staff lounge. Em hadn’t quite figured out why all the teachers liked to gather here after the day was over but here they were talking away and sharing their days. She and the other math teacher found a spot to sit and talk about next week and the upcoming math bowl. When all of the sudden she heard Jax name from another teachers mouth and she just happened to look and there he stood. What on earth was he doing here in the teachers lounge and were those flowers? Em was so confused by the whole exchange between them, she raised an eyebrow what was Olympia to him? She thought that her and Jax had really hit it off, maybe it was just wishful thinking on her part but she was going to find out. Standing she made her way over to them, “Jax what are you doing here?” She asked looking between the two with a raised eyebrow.
She had been up for quite some time now and was one cup of hot coco in as well as a cup of tea in when she finally sighed and decided to get herself ready for the day. After a relaxing shower she wrapped a fluffy towel around her and went into her closet searching for something cute to wear. Ultimately Em decided on a orangey colored dress and stripped cardigan with black ankle boots. Dropping the towel she changed into her undergarments and slipped the dress over pulling it down. It was what some would classify a body con style dress but it fit her just right and showed off her baby bump in the cutest way possible. Though these days Em was starting to feel more whale like then human like she was always told to embrace her bump and so she finally decided to, she grabbed her boots and cardigan and headed back into the bathroom. Drying and curling her hair before applying a little bit of makeup. Looking at her phone she still had plenty of time to stop by the farmers market before needing to head to work. Zipping her boots up she made sure everything was unplugged and grabbed her favorite clip incase she got tired of her hair being down. Grabbing her bag she tucked her laptop, folder with the kids graded work and her clip into it and grabbed her lunch bag and water cup and headed for the door. It wasn’t a terribly long drive to the market for her and surprisingly finding a parking spot wasn’t bad either. Em started her walking among the stands finally spotting one were she could get some tea when someone bumped into her and the voice sounded just like Jax. The one she had never heard from, she thought that maybe she had scared him off or that she brought to much to the table. “the one and only.” She smiled, “how have you been Jax?” She questioned softly resting her hand on her bump.
She raised an eyebrow and watched the man curiously. “Yes they are yours and sorry to hear that you have a lot going on in your life.” Ember spoke still watching him and then he spoke again, “well it’s nice to meet you Clayton.” She watched as he pulled his phone out, frowned and then shut it off, welp that was one way to solve problems but to each their own. “So if you’re a recent move to how long have you been here for?” She asked she was merely curious and trying to make a friend or two. Heck she wasn’t even sure if Clayton would want talk or even want friends. Ember was more thinking that he would ask her to leave him alone and get the hell out of his face, which she was probably sure was the higher of options at this point. She sipped from her cup before setting it down and crossing her own arms like he had, if he was going to be that way she could be that way too.
Ember took another sip of the drink before cutting into her Danish. She had been watching the man that had came into the Café, he seemed like he was in a million and one places and whatever had come across his phone seemed to make him let out a breath before he shook his head and stuffed it back in his pocket. With a raised eyebrow Ember finished her Danish and watched as the man got his drink and sat in a chair with a grunt instantly closing his eyes. Well then if that didn’t say don’t approach she didn’t know what else would. She shook her head and gave an eye roll before her phone chimed she picked it off the table and saw it was her mom she sent a quick message off saying she would call when she was home. Stuffing it back into her pocket she decided she had nothing better to do and stood grabbing her cup and walking toward the man, sitting across from him. “you seem to either be unfriendly or a lot on your mind but I can’t quite put my finger on it, I’m Ember just moved here and you are?” She asked taking a drink of her hot coco deciding for once in her life to put herself out there what was the worse that could happen, he calls her a name bullies her some more? It seemed to be the norm in her life, did she trust a soul not to do that no she didn’t, it would take some serious trust earning before she would believe someone couldn’t be so cruel with their words. Crossing her legs she waited to see if the man would engage or not.
The women casually strolled down the street with a cup in her hand. Her dirty blond hair was pulled back into a low and side pony so her cream colored hat covered her ears. She peered into the windows of the shops seeing if anything peeked her interest, she hadn’t been here that long and still had much exploring to do and that was what she had set out to do today before she started her new job. Emberlynn stopped and entered a small shop with a small smile, she went over to the baby section and started looking at everything, it was still hard to believe that she was about to embark on the biggest journey alone and she was still wrapping her head around it, wishing this had all been with the right guy and not the wrong. With a soft sigh she picked up a cute footie onsie with a farm print on it, she dropped it over her arm and continued to look, grabbing a rainbow one and one that had cows on it. She found a cute pair of booties and two blankets and brought them up to the counter giving the store owner a friendly smile and her card as the baby items were placed in brown bag and handed over she thanked the lady and headed back outside, her bags perched on her arm and cup still in hand, she finished her drink and carried on down the street, coming to a small Café she entered. Ordering a hot coco and a Danish. She took a seat at a table close to the window and watched as people walked up and down the streets going in and out of all the stores. Her attention turned as a steaming cup was placed down in front of her and her Danish she gave the women a friendly thank you and proceeded to take her coat and hat off, before taking a sip of the hot coco which tasted just like home. She truly did miss home but would never go back, she didn’t want to chance anything and risk the safety of her baby, this truly was one hundred percent a new start for her and she was going to embrace it. Taking another sip she heard the bell ring above the door and looked up to see a man come in.
