Archie listened to his sister vent to him once more when he tried to offer her a solution, as in, he would fess up to stealing the food which rightfully so, he should if she was getting in trouble. But it seemed that his offer to help just ended up with different type of dig, "I like to think I'm done with drinking the three gallons of milk a week." That was besides the point though, Archie knew exactly what Leonie was feeling - the weight of her parents expectations - there was no escaping it for her, and truth be told, he wasn't sure how to help anymore other than being annoying. To his credit, he was being very good at it.
His sister's eyes narrowed at him for daring to be both annoying and sarcastic. The teenager wasn't sure as to why he was so deserving of a look though when she set herself up perfectly for that question: "Not just who.. but what..." - a pointed look at the salt shaker - "For all I know, you could be one of them too." That did it. Archie rolled his eyes with all the muster he could just to make a point, "Its official everyone. Leonie Wagner has officially lost her marbles." At least he offer of pizza was enough to call a truce, only for Leonie to politely declined. Hazel eyes stared at her, uncertain if he truly believed her, but decided it was best to not die on a hill today, "Alright. Suit yourself."
What Archie didn't appreciate was the gentle poke in the ribs, "Ow!" Dramatically, he rubbed his rib cage now, "What was that for?" Actually, it was probably for laughing at her. But now he was just being whiney for the hell of it. At least his new found crush seemed to distract her, as she offered her two sense. The idea of teaching someone to ride was an interesting one, although he doubted Oliver would go for it if his two friends hadn't convinced him yet, "Maybe if I was already sitting on one of my horses and he could hold on..." He mused outloud, "He's also at the pool a lot, lifeguarding or something...I guess that would be creepy if I showed up there though."
He heard the snort, although whether it was going to the pool or him feigning the idea that he could act out to have them move - he wasn't sure. Although Leonie soon made her feelings quite clear, "Ah, yeah. Frankie can do that also. But that requires her to escape rehab and I'm sure Mum sent her to the best of the best." Archie gave some thought to his sister's annoyance at being in Hickstead, which honestly, he understood. It wasn't Germany. There was a heck of a lot of rain. She got dragged out of her own university for this, "You know...maybe you just need to meet someone. A distraction to make you happy?"

Archie Wagner couldn't remember the last time he had been on a boat, let alone sail one. He had always preferred to be in the water verses on the water. Yet his sister convinced him that they could take on the Regatta Doubles together and win. The young man was nothing short of competitive, but perhaps seeing his sister talk to an attractive boy at the dock yard a few weeks back convinced him that he owed her one.
Still, he found himself hesitant being in charge of everything but steering once they were free from the anchors. He had a few crash courses in the weeks leading up to this at least. Green eyes looked to their competition for a split second, and then the starting gun went off. Archie sprang to work as he heard Leonie's voice bark orders. Archie ran about, loosing the sails and tying ropes, trying to gage everything about the wind along with his sister.
He def tripped up a few times as well, but hey, he didn't end up splashing in the water. Leonie, do her credit, was carrying them both along to the finish line. She looked like a pro. Then again, Leonie Wagner always looked best in the classiest of sports - dressage, now sailing. As the wind began to gentle, green eyes realized where they were, "Shit, Leonie! I think we crossed the finish line."

Archie smiled, at least the girl seemed to think that they would get along without any issue. Waffel picked up his canter in the other direction now, the gelding side eyeing the other pair in the arena - clearly jealous that they appeared to not be cantering. His polo ponies often seemed to be funny like that, lazy every day escape the day of the match. Archie got though, training one on one just wasn't the same when they were with the rest of their team. His mom really hadn't thought that when she shipped them all out of Germany and to England, "They'll take me next year. The university that is. I gotta finish up my other schooling though. This was my final year in school, whereas in England, it seems I should have already been in University." He didn't mind though, not like he had his life figured out anyways.
When Izzy brought up his own parents, it actually gave him some pause. The teenager didn't want to rag on them, but honestly, it was like his parents didn't understand him or his siblings. Sometimes, it was fun to joke that they were all swapped as babies when they were born with others, because none of the Wagner children seemed to match their parents in personality and drive. Archie finally shrugged, his green eyes still on Waffel shuffling through his canter, "They're...alright. Bit harsh and strict. I think my sisters and I turned out a little different than they thought we would." Still, the thought still made me smile wryly.
Arche could see the pros and cons to dual hatting it in the equestrian world. He had to hand to Izzy that she had it all figured out, it had taken himself a while to figure out what to do after he learned how to sit on the horse. He supposed he was always hte rough and tumble sort though, he liked being part of a team and the scrimmage of it all. Yes, show jumping looked fun and fast, and dressage looked elegant, and western, well, it was its own ballpark, but none of them seemed to speak to Archie like the polo field, "You ever feel like you don't have an identity though by doing both? Like...pulled between the two?" The teenager stepped towards his gelding now, breaking the circle and Waffel began to slow down - from canter to trot, and finally to walk. They were done - with moving at least.
"Ah well, the Argentinians appeared to have cracked the code to having a sturdy but fast horse that could handle all sorts of weather," Archie said with a grin, shrugging, "But maybe that's just me. Everybody in the sport has their opinions. A few of my teammates still use english breeds and thoroughbreds. Just feels like its preference. I admit though, two of mine are from South America - only one is European." Speaking of his polo ponies, Waffel was walking towards him now, head hanging low with his ears pointed forward. The teenager greeted his pony like an old friend, giving a good pat as the horse rested his large head on Archie's shoulder now, allowing his breathing to settle, "Yeah - Molly seems to run a kilometer a minute...but that's okay. It works for her. Do you know much about her non-horse riding friend? Oliver?" Hey, it was worth a try.
Green eyes looked to Izzy now, if she understood why he was asking, she wasn't cluing him in. Instead, she seemed more preoccupied with the time - rightfully so. He smiled at her question, "Depends on the city or town, but if you grew up here, I think you'll be just fine." She and Quennie seemed to slow down now, and Waffel banged up against his head now, attempting to rub himself. Gently, Archie pushed the gelding's head around - knowing that he would have to wrap everything up soon, "Ah, well good to know about the scenes then. If you and Queenie are wrapping up, Waffel and I can walk you back to the cross ties. Should be enough a of a cool down before he gets put back into his stall til breakfast."

Archie merely chewed on his food thoughtfully as his older sister launched into a complaint about how boys had it easy when it came to food while girls just ballooned up by staring at their food. Somehow, he doubted that was really the scientific reason behind weight gain and metabolism, but knew better than to say anything. As her big brown bambi eyes locked on him, expecting an answer to her life thoughts, Archie froze like a deer himself. Finally though, the teenager offered her a big dramatic shrug as he continued to devour the wrap, nearly finished. Such a shame too - he didn't feel the least bit held over. Unfortunately, Archie seemed to have bigger problems all of the sudden thanks to his big fat mouth.
"You're the midnight food thief?" Well, shit, he was in for it now. Although Leonie was lecturing him, her tone was still cheerful and playful. Guess he wasn't exactly a dead little brother walking. Still, he owed his sister, "Alright, alright. I'll tell mum I'm the gremlin. Maybe this will work in my favor and she will buy more food instead of less." Since, there never seemed to be enough in the house, defilingly not on the plate for him. As Leonie finished her food, she placed her silver ware down gently, looking all knowing as she confirmed there were indeed spies. Archie snorted, green eyes rolling, "Oh yeah?" He leaned in now, "Who are they, Leo? Who amongst us right now are spies?" Now he was just egging her, but hey, what were little brothers for?
He chuckled as the use of his smile, "Yeah yeah, I'm sure that will win them over." Archie wasn't sure if he had ever won anyone over with his smile other than his parents, but it was a nice thought to have. Green eyes watched as Leonie's gaze dropped to her plate during their conversation. Either she wanted another slice or she was annoyed with him: "I'd forget too, it's easy to." Damn, a bit brutal. He decided to switch gears now, or else they'd be daring each other to leave the table first in a good old Wagner family silent argument, "I can go get you another slice of pizza if you want - they have them here." Hopefully it was a good enough peace offering, a 'sorry i was dumb and said stupid shit because i have it easy' sort of thing.
Granted, he was still studying his wrap and now it was nearly done, it was also to avoid looking at his older sister. But he could feel her gaze on him, he could feel that stupid infectious smile of her beaming off. And then, he confessed, his green eyes looking up to Leonie now as she learned forward, beckoning him to tell her everything. A laugh escaped him, "I don't know - you're kinda funny to laugh at when you're left hanging." Archie knew he was probably going to get sucker punched for that, so he continued on, "I don't know much about him. His name is Oliver - a year younger than me so secondary student. He doesn't, however, ride horses. I guess he was at the barn to visit friends." And with that, he stuffed the last of his wrap into his mouth, savagery and all - allowing his sister the floor now to give her thoughts. If there was anyone Archie cared to share escapades of his dating life with, it was Leonie.
As for not wanting to move, Archie wasn't sure if they had much of a choice on that front. Not until the three of them were deemed adults, whatever that meant by their parents standards, "Well, if you do want to leave here at any point, I'll make sure to act out." Archie joked.

A chuckle escaped him as Oliver admitted that he couldn't help himself, somehow, that didn't surprise him, "It's fine. The teasing keeps me grounded." He replied back with a grin. Unlike his parents, and maybe his sisters, Archie was often okay with a good rib about his background. While in Germany, there was a line drawn in the sand, out in Hickstead, those lines blurred and society allowed for him to hang out with who he deemed fit.
As the other boy's nudge against his shoulder lingered a few seconds longer than typical, Archie could feel his stomach flitter a little bit. Thank god his hands were resting on the dock, otherwise, his palms probably would be disgusting for Oliver to touch all of the sudden. Green eyes glanced over at the other boy now, eyebrow arching, "Slow down? What's that?" he asked with a grin, "But no, I haven't tried it before. I'm more of a rough and tumble type with my sports between polo ponies and water polo. My family's more into fast cars and big yachts."
His gaze held Oliver's for a bit longer, before daring to ask, "Want to show me though?"

Archie knew he shouldn't be surprised at all by all of this drama he appeared to be hearing, or at least, opinions on certain riders. After all, he had yet to join a barn that didn't seem to have something going on. Plus, entitled riders just came with the scene. Even at his polo barns back in Germany, there had been no escape. A snort of laughter escaped him when Izzy proclaimed that he didn't seem half bad, "I try. I also don't like drama in my life so I try to avoid it as best as I can." After all, he got enough of that at home. His gaze looked to Waffel for a moment as the girl asked her horse to canter, but the gelding appeared unperturbed by someone else going faster than him in the arena. From their conversation, Izzy was finishing up her mini rant about this Kennedy, clearly she had something to get off of her chest.
Even with the distraction of another horse and rider, Archie was pleased with how this morning lunge was going. While he knew Waffel should be fine with any horse around, given his sport, the young man knew that every once in a while, his horses liked to show a bit a spunk. Clearly, it was too early in the morning for such nonsense, "Ah! Well good luck on your exams then. Maybe I'll be joining you next year then with those worries," he joked now, "As for parents - well, unfortunately, I think we may just always been stuck as 'their children' in their eyes." Archie knew his parents had an unfortunate way of showing it, his sisters certainly could have done with some better support, but he wasn't sure if any of them would ever been seen as adults in the eyes of their parents.
It was a little surprising to hear the young woman say that she didn't scroll social media, but everyone was different, "Nothing wrong with that. Just means you're not a screen zombie like the rest of us." He joked now. Green eyes kept watch as Izzy turned her mare now, giving them space. Even Waffel seemed to notice the possible invasion as he leaped forward now, giving a bunny hop and a kick even though the pair hardly came near them. The move merely made Archie shake his head as he got his gelding back on track now, "I have not. Figure I'd leave that to the Americans," Archie said with a grin, "But I got to ride in some South American saddles when I was in the market for growing my horse squad. So I think you're the more worldly one for saddles." As for her comment on Molly, laughter escaped him, "Yes. I think that is it. The coffee IV's."
Once Waffel calmed back down, they were into the last leg of their lunge - cantering. The gelding seemed to be doing well after his one small hissy fit, and thankfully, it was a steady canter and on the right lead as well. Archie couldn't help but to smile when Izzy claimed over the Christmas Markets of Germany, "You should try going. Short flight at least. My home, Bermen, is probably my favorite. But I think Munich and Berlin can rival it. I think just the gothic buildings of my town make it all pop, especially when it snows. We Germans do it better than the Austrians though, and don't let them fool you otherwise." He stepped in, closing the lunge circle and then pointed, asking for the chance, to which Waffel snorted and tossed hsi head, but obliged - looks like the Polo Pony knew it was coming to an end as well, "I guess I'm boring too. I ride, swim, and just like to hang out with people," Archie said with a laugh, "What do you like about hte art gallery though? Is it a date spot or a hang out spot?"

He couldn't say he was surprised by Frankie's laughter to his near death experience or the fact that she called him 'smooth'. Okay. Maybe he was being a tad dramatic. She had just startled him, that's all. His eldest sister wasn't going to get the best of him! So Archie just grinned up at her, "Don't you know it." It was funny, for a moment, he almost felt like it was back in time - before everything went to shit and their parents ruined them with their upbringing. But it didn't last long, mainly because Alexis was brought up, and the discussion of their cousin who certainly had not been kidnapped brought Archie back to reality.
It was hard to not pry information from Frankie when she said she had run into him in town, just like Archie had. No doubt it was also an accident. Resting besides her, green eyes watched his sister as she let out a good old fashioned (and non lady like) snort. Damn. Well, he certainly would be hanging on every word of hers: "He ran away, he didn't get kidnapped." She said with a roll of her eyes. Classic Frankie Wanger tatic. Soon she carried on, "We just chatted about being the black sheep of the family." Ouch. The teenager wasn't sure what to say to that. He had hardly thought Alexi was like that, but his eldest sister, well, that was a harder statement to argue.
Instead though, he went with the truth, "I know." He thought for a bit more before saying, "When I ran into him, he told me not to tell anyone. So you must have ran into him after me." Boy, he was feeling like quite the Hardy Boy all of the sudden. Green eyes looked away from his sister for a moment, staring at the pool water, "I'm sorry you feel that way," he commented now, glancing back up, "That you're the black sheep." He knew why, he just...wished he knew why she did what she did, but maybe there was no understanding all of that.

Archie looked up from his sandwich warp, staring at her and there was no doubt in his mind that he must have looked like an overstuffed chipmunk. He managed to swallow now, figuring that talking with his mouth full would earn him a look from the classy Leonie Wagner now, "It's a side affect of being a teenage boy," he said with a grin now, "Don't tell Mum, but I have been raiding the pantry when she goes to bed. I'm somehow always hungry." Thankfully between two forms of polo and a metabolism, Archie appeared to be fine for now. Thank god too, he wasn't sure if he wanted to end up on a diet like either of his sisters or whatever stupid beliefs their mother seemed to have. The young man rolled his eyes, still playfully grinning, "Mum's not here to judge us on our savagery, Leo." Knowing his sister, it was probably easier said than done though. He felt like he had an easier time cutting loose when they weren't around their parents unlike Leonie, and Frankie, well, she was a special case.
At least his smile was winning her over - that was one thing the Wagner children were good at, it was smiling. All flash and award winning, the dangerous sort that could melt hearts. Leonie's was just as dangerous as his even after finishing off a piece of pizza: "You can wear it on a badge and everything." Archie chortled, good thing that he hadn't taken another bite of his food or else he would have been very very ungentleman like, "I defilingly will as soon as I meet a graphic arts student." He promised, finally allowing himself another bite of his wrap. Too bad his mouth hadn't stayed full enough for him to have made an idiot of himself to Leonie though. The teenager really did feel bad about it, like, kicked puppy bad. Clocking his sister roll her eyes made him feel a bit better though as she followed up with a nudge, "You're my brother, it's impossible to overstep." A weak smile played over Archie's lips now, "Yeah. I suppose so. I just...forget sometimes how I've had it easier compared to you and Frankie."
It was almost welcoming that they were back to bantering now, or at least, somewhat bantering. Green eyes watched as his sister tilted her head, thinking over his words before commenting that nobody had caught her eye. Archie couldn't decide if he was surprised by that statement or not. But Leonie didn't give him long to ponder it as a sly smile appeared on her lips: "Does that mean you have?" Suddenly, his wrap had become incredibly interesting, "Uh...maybe. Not on campus though. I met a guy at the barn. He, quite literally, ran into Mokka's ass." Although it was the horse's fault, and maybe Archie couldn't be mad at the polo 'pony' per say, given that at the end of it all, he ended up with a phone number. As for the chatter about Hickstead, a laugh couldn't help but to escape Archie, "Roots? You're making us sound old and frail. I feel like we don't have to worry about roots yet." Granted, he didn't have the weight of an empire sitting on his shoulders.

Archie had to get out of the house, the tension in the air could have been cut with a knife it was so wound and tight. And like any male in a female dominate household, he excused himself. The morning had started out good enough, everyone seemed to be more or less getting along when he left for the barn this morning. His mother was being polite, his sisters both appeared to be being polite, so Archie thought everything was fine. But clearly, something went down, because once he got back to the barn, it was chaos - the sort of dangerous chaos that had yet to be unleashed but you could feel it just simmering and waiting to be released.
It was probably poor form of him to leave, but seventeen going on eighteen soon, he was practically an adult - and quite frankly, everyone else in the household was an adult, and he didn't' want to referee it at all. Archie always seemed to get along with everyone individually, but once they were all thrown into a room together, he couldn't stand it at all. Maybe that was the curse of being a baby. So the young man found himself leaving once more and heading downtown to wander, figuring if he returned to Blue Arces, people might ask questions that he didn't feel like asking.
As it would have it though, he bypast downtown and ended up at the pier to watch the seagulls and taste the salt water breeze. Somehow, it felt grounding. Walking along the pier, Archie could feel his brain switch off - well, at least, until he saw someone he knew. Green eyes caught sight of one Oliver Deak. A friend. A boy that he often hoped would stop by Blue Arces even though he didn't ride. He walked over now, and before he could say anything, Oliver spoke first and looked up at him. Archie blinked for a moment, "The yacht? No I was..." and then something dawned on him, "You're teasing me, aren't you?" he asked with a grin, settling down next to the other teenage boy and nudging his shoulder against the other for the briefest of moments in a hello, "I didn't know you fished. I feel like I learn a new thing about you every time I see you."

The scoff that had escaped Izzy said it all, and he could not help but to chuckle a little bit when it came to the girl's comments, "I'll keep that in mind." Archie replied now, before adding on with a teasing tone, "Also, remind me to never get on your bad side." The other teenager clearly had no problems speaking her mind, and while the young man never minded such a trait in an individual, he certainly didn't want it directed at him. Still, he felt a bit of curiosity tug at him, like all ill-tempered statements caused, "Is there history between the two of you? Or is she just that sort of person?" Archie was willing to bet the later but still felt the need to confirm.
Between the two teenagers, it would seem that both of their horses were getting a good work out in despite the time constraints. Archie cast a glance at his watch, and knew there was a chance that he was going to have to start wrapping it up soon. Thankfully, Waffel started to do the very thing that he wanted out of the gelding, and that was lowering his head while extending the trot without even an ask. It didn't happen very often without louds of encouragement, but when it did, Archie always considered it a win, "Ah true! I didn't think about that. I can't really fathom concentrating on university right now anyways."
It was curious to hear Izzy say that she thought her parents cared too much. Archie couldn't even fathom such a thing. He supposed their parents cared about them, they raised them well enough and did love them, but sometimes it felt like he and his sisters were cared more for like prized race horses than children, "Ah, I guess I can see how too much caring would be overbearing. I don't think I have that problem with my parents." Sometimes, Archie found it hard to complain about his parents - mainly because he knew there were worse ones out there - such as the Alenkos. As for her next question, Archie merely shook his head, "I doubt it. I feel like my parents are only german famous verses work famous. Maybe you've heard of my sister - Frankie Wagner - she...she's like a socialite and IG famous?"
Archie couldn't imagine borrowing a trainer, but he suppose he would have to do that if he wanted himself and his horses to stay in shape until he found a club, "Ah I wondered about the western - given this isn't America. Sorta funny to see the western saddles in Europe." It was making its waves in Germany as well, but the teenager knew well enough at the FEI games that the Americans always rang supreme. He got Waffel to change directions once more, and the gelding obliged, extending the trot and his neck. Clearly the horse had caught on now and the more well behaved he was, the faster he got back to sleeping with his friends. He nodded at Izzy's next words, figuring that he would meet the owner at some point here, but if it took a while, it certainly wouldn't be the end of the world.
The question of how much energy did Molly have made him laugh, "I think she had a lot - like say...that battery rabbit? The energizer bunny?" It felt like an ample description of the girl - going off on some rant about how there was a ghost horse or pony haunting the lands that needed to be put to rest. Archie supposed that he wasn't surprised that the other teenager admitted to being a local, it seemed to be 50/50 as far as natives go, "Oh. I miss the food," he said with a grin now, "We also moved during Christmas market season so I think that bothered me a little. But it is what it is. I'm sure I'll make new discoveries here." He got Waffel to turn again, once again but asked the gelding to move into a canter now. The polo pony shuffled quickly into the canter now before relaxing into a rhythm, "So, besides riding - what do you like to do around here?"

Archie could understand where his sister was coming from when she coolly played off his opinion about their mother. As the baby, and perhaps the only boy, he seemed to be spared a lot of the trifle that his two sisters got. He wasn't entirely sure as to why, but at the same time, Archie knew better than to question it or bring it up to his parents. If he did, well, that would be an invite to something that he did not want. So he let the conversation end there without any more argument or defense of their mother. Besides, there were more important things to consider - such as the free food he was being given now, even if it was Leonie's discards.
He took her food the second she gave him permission too, and unwrapped the chicken salad wrap now and took a huge bite into it, figuring that he could be a little savage given the current company was merely himself and his sister. Green eyes could not help but to notice how thoughtful Leonie looked as he ate, and he had no doubt on what was going through her mind - how they could behave the same way and yet get treated so differently. The teenager did feel bad about it, he even felt bad when it was directed at Frankie, but at the end of the day, Archie was clueless as to what to do about it, "You know, you can ditch the fork and knife."
Somehow, he doubted she would, but it still felt right to tell her - even if it was merely for brandishing at him now instead of the freedom to eat with her hands like a normal twenty something year old. A grin played on his lips given her confirmation that he was far better company than their mother, "Even on my worst day? Wow, now that is certainly a compliment." But the fun and games between the two Wagner siblings only seemed but to last a minute before Archie appeared to have put his food in his mouth. A dark and stomry look clouded over Leonie's features, and immediately, the young man felt guilty about it: "Like I need the reminder."
Her words made it even worse. Archie wasn't sure on what to say, so all what he did was take another great mouthful of that wrap. It was down to a quarter now, and it hadn't even been five minutes. He found himself mulling over how to best express his regret when Leonie was already saying sorry. An eyebrow arched, before the teenager merely shook his head, "Nah, don't be. I overstepped." And that was certainly the truth. His middle sister didn't need a reminder that she was the future face of their family's fortune - Frankie's escapades made that certainly clear. At least they could move onto new topics now - freed from the topic of their mother, and that of Hickstead.
Green eyes watched as Leonie looked over her pizza once more, appearing to revel in it before asking a curious question: "Should I have?" It was a good counter question, one that gave Archie some pause in his chewing, "I don't know. It's just a question. You have a whole giant campus to meet people on." But perhaps he was also just pondering it merely because it felt like he had met someone at the barn - what it might be, Archie had no idea, but it felt like something. As for Hickstead, he smiled, "Character? Do you mean quaint?" the teenager asked with a grin, "I don't mind though, for the record. Its kinda nice compared to gothic looking Bremen. I think my horses might actually enjoy it too."

Archie thought today would have been about minding his own business, and keeping clear of any family drama. Unfortunately though, that just did not seem to be the Wagner way. For a few moments, it felt as if the sun was eclipsed by the moon, or at least, a few clouds - which was odd, since the teenager had been convinced that it had been a perfectly cloudless day. Curious, he opened up one green eye to see what was going on and caught sight of a familiar face smirking down at him, "Frankie?" He asked now stupidly. Of course it was her, he would know his own sister from a mile away.
He had a moment, forgetting that he was actually sitting in pool water, as he tried to sit up, only to have the water swallow him whole. But it was only for a second as he came up now, wiping water from his eyes and pushing his mop of wet hair from his face. Francesca was already making herself at home now by the pool's edge, dipping her feet and legs into the water. He didn't quite mind her presence, unlike Leonie who always seemed to be angry, but Archie still felt like maybe he should have his guard up. Instead though, his eldest sister said something that caught him completely off guard once again, which appeared to be her specialty, "Did you know Alexi is here in this drab little town too?”
Archie was certain he should play dumb, after all, that had been what Alexi had wanted. Instead though, the seventeen year old merely blurted out, "Did you run into him too?!" The question immediately, felt stupid. Of course he had, one - because she was Frankie, and two - her phrasing said it all. Slowly, he swam over to her now to chill besides her while still remaining in the pool, his arms and elbows resting on the side of the pool, "I saw him at the University last year when I was looking for Leonie - he didn't really seem to be being held against his will like a kidnapped royal. He told me to keep quiet though..." And then, curiosity got the best of him, "What did he say to you?"

Laughter escaped him when Izzy decided to mildly interrogate him over who could have possibly been so rude to him at the barn and informed him of her suspicions. Archie wasn't really surprised by such a question, no matter the barn and no matter the country, there were always those sort of barn people and his new friend had just given a name, "I don't know, maybe? She was in such a huff, I didn't catch her name. Brown hair, had an affinity for pink plaid and a large dark bay stallion. I'll keep that name in mind for the future if I run into her again." The incident had been over two weeks ago by now, so the teenager had long forgotten it. He made the equestrian life work because he was laid back, he didn't really feel the need to drag out barn drama, just to move beyond it.
He stepped into his 'pie' now, asking for another change of direction which Waffel compiled to. He would see those ears trained on him now, the occasional twitch of the ear towards Archie along with a slight gaze. The polo pony was warmed up and ready to work, and not a moment's too soon because as his green eyes caught sight of the time. Another ten minutes and he would have to wrap everything up unfortunately. School was such an hindrance sometimes, "That's exactly it," he confirmed with a smile, asking Waffel to extend his trot now with a flick of the whip, "Although its odd here, they send you off to Uni at seventeen it looks like. So a little different, but nothing horrible. I'm not sure what I want to do with my life anyways so maybe I'll use that next year for self discovery." He nodded, "Oh yes. Full name is only for my parents. I am sure you're the same."
Izzy's comments made him grin about parents. Looks like he wasn't the only teenager here that had to live under a microscope somehow. The more he talked to her, the more Archie was beginning to like her, "Ah clingy. At least you know they care," Archie said now, "My parents? Very strict. Something happened with my sister, it's why we moved out here. My parents wanted the three of us out of the spotlight for a bit." And then he just realized how odd that sounded, "They run a business. We are not celebrities or anything like that." And he wasn't even going to bring up his missing royal cousin. It didn't surprise him to learn that he was the only polo player at Blue Arces, Hickstead in general was a little out of the way for the sport, but he was good enough to train on his own and make visits to the club an hour away, "I have to drive a lot to the matches and clubs, nothing local around here. But english and western? That's quite the cross train. You and Queenie must be well balanced."
Having Waffel change directions yet again at the trot, he made sure that the gelding new to keep the trot extended as he gave the polo pony a little more length now to the circle, all the while tomake sure to not crowd Izzy and her horse, "Ah, I have not met Naomi yet. Another rider gave me the tour, a very exuberant one. Molly I think." He didn't mind though, he didnt have to be waited on to make a decision. Well, as for those life decisions, "Nothing wrong with staying close to home...for me? I don't know. I have to see what happens with my family. I'm fine staying here, but I would be lying if I didn't say I hope to eventually move back to Germany." He flicked the whip again, asking for the canter and Waffel sprang forward. Green eyes watched closely, "I feel like I have my whole life ahead of me to figure that out though."

Archie Wagner couldn't believe that the end of summer was here. In just a few weeks, he would be joining his sister Leonie over at Hickstead Uni now that he had successfully completed Hickstead Secondary School just a few months ago. The school system had taken some getting used to for Archie, as it had differed from his schooling back in Germany, but with a little help from his new found English friends, the teenager had made it work. Summer had seemingly been carrying on like normal other than when his eldest sister and her whirlwind antics breezed through the Wagner Household - her breakout from her rehab clinic still fresh in everyone's (namely their mother's) minds. While he did his best to stay out of it, the Wagner women made it hard.
Although, what had been unique about the situation that landed them all in Hickstead was that Frankie was sticking to her guns that she had been drugged, that she would never go beyond her limits. Her sheer determination to stick to the story soon had Archie beginning to believe that there was actually a lot of merit to this truth. And while his mother and other sister, Leonie, seemed to still think otherwise, Archie was beginning to wonder if Frankie needed to be cut some slack. Granted, it's not as if she had been doing her best since moving to Hickstead to appease their mother also.
A sigh escaped him at the thought, as he leaned back into the water and allowed himself to float along. Even in the hot days, it would seem that people had little time to be at the pool and were more occupied with vacations outside of the tiny town of Hickstead. Archie didn't mind though, he probably needed his quiet to shed his brain of all of the thoughts in his mind, from Frankie and Leonie, to Alexi, and lastly, Oliver Deak. Archie had never had so much going on in Germany, all what he ever did was worry about polo and his horses, now though, it felt as if there was too much going on. Closing his eyes, he simply allowed the water to carry him in the pool, unware that his moment of tranquility was about to come to an end.

Archie could not help but to laugh at the girl's remark about how not everyone would be as kind, "Ah, yes. I have had a run in with a few of those people here." He got it. Horse people could be weird sometimes, and see themselves in a class of their own. With all of the horse shows coming up on the horizon as well, the young man tended to find that they pushy personalities escalade with it. Thankfully though, he had managed to remain in good graces here, probably because of how he had been raised. Archie knew well enough how to get himself out of trouble with the rich and elite, "Oh?" he asked at her question, "I'm glad to hear my accent is good enough to pass for a native." And with that, the young man could not help but to laugh, "I'm from Germany actually, an industrial town though. Doubt you've heard of it. Different school system though. I don't think my mom thought that through when she relocated us. It was a bit of a surprise for the transfer when I found out that per Hickstead and Willow Bridge, I should have been out of Secondary already by their standards."
A snort escaped Waffel as he picked up the pace of his trot on the lunge line, and Archie couldn't help but to notice that it might have been a reflex of Izzy and Queenie's. Guess he wouldn't be the only one who was catching the polo pony's attention then. Given it was lunging though, the young man wasn't too surprised as he stepped in and moved the small horse to change directions. Waffel was quick to oblige as always, the transition abrupt like it was in a match. As Izzy explained the full origins of her name, Archie simply flashed a grin in her direction, "I'll keep that in mind. I know all about the dangerous tone of a parent using a full name." Her name was much more smooth than 'Archibald' though, and probably sounded better than his own when she was in trouble, "Good time with your parents otherwise?" Perhaps it was a prying question, but often he couldn't help but to wonder how other teenagers might have been raised differently to him.
The tables being turned on him caught him off guard, at least when it came to his horses, but he supposed that while it was easy to spot the jumpers and dressage riders, polo might be a little different. And being nationally ranked didn't make much of a difference, "I play polo," Archie said now, "I believe they consider my three a little on the smaller side now, but what they lack in size, they make up in heart and speed." Green eyes looked to the horse and rider again, particularly concentrating on the saddle and the gait, "I take it you...jump?" The young man wasn't entirely sure that he wanted to bet money on it though, given the horse itself looked like something he'd see at a western show in America, but the saddle and being ridden by an English girl made the whole thing a conundrum to a degree. As for being here, "Ah! Well yes, I'm new. But that's awesome you've been here for a while. Perhaps you can show my the ropes of Blue Arces who and who not to annoy." Because those sort of people exist everywhere.
Izzy's opinion on interior design made sense though, like art, it took an eye to make it all look good. And Archie knew that his parents certainly employed them. While his parents had no shortage of money and tastes, how to make all of their collection pieces flow and not look like hodge podge collected in a room required help, "I can see that. At least you've given your future some thought then." He couldnt' say the same for himself beyond Polo, and while he knew that his parents wanted him to partake in their business, Archie couldn't help but to wonder if it was best to just leave it in Leonie's capable hands, "You think you'll stay local once you graduate?"
