boyd jagger reid the basics full name • boyd jagger reid nicknames • boyd, bee, reid, jaws (skating circle; due to his smile and his ability to sink his teeth into anything) age • fifteen birthday • july 13th 2008 occupation • secondary school student/ aspiring professional skateboarder gender • male sexuality • undecided the appearance face claim• rudy pankow identifying features• blonde messed up hair with a free spirited stand of hair always falling in front of his eyes if his cap or headphone don’t hold it back. the personality likes • skateboarding, winning, his family, playing board games (if he wins), fast food even though it’s not the good kind of carbs, smooth and well maintained skate parks (preferably designed by his dad), showers, swimming, running, kicking back when time allows it dislikes • losing, being dyslexic, homework, unfairness, taking a bath (no time for that stuff), chalkboards, holes in the toes of his socks, annoying judges/officials and getting point reduction for being careless in his moves or tricks. strengths • reliable • friendly • driven • funny • super competitive • passionate • responsible (most of the time) • doesn’t do drugs due to being serious about his future career and wanting to keep his body as healthy as possible. It will be hard to tempt him into having a drink but he may cave when he doesn't have a competition coming up or maybe one after a competition but he’s far from legal yet so it’s very rare. weaknesses • stubborn • hot headed when he’s trying to win and things aren’t going his way • his dyslexia • his dad’s success and not wanting to outshine the man eventually dreams • becoming a very successful professional skateboarder fears • his dyslexia holding him back in every aspect of his life overall personality • at first glance the blonde fifteen year old is a carefree, mellow and open skater boy who does nothing but laugh with just about anyone all day long. Almost the typical boy next door. There is a flip side to it all though, the deck revealing a little rougher side. boyd likes winning. period. and even now as he grows out of being a young child, he finds himself being intensely frustrated by a loss no matter what area of life. flipping over board games and stomping off after losing a round, or messing up a particularly skating trick, happens more frequently than they should. his parents try to work with him on it, and he’s got it in check..sometimes…more or less. other times, it’s still a problem. the teen puts a lot of pressure on himself and sinks his teeth into anything he does. he doesn’t give up until he’s mastered whatever the hell it is that needs mastering. even if it takes all night. dreams don't come easy and boyd knows maintaining his physical strength and mental health while being on that board and trying to make his way up is going to take hard work. giving things time is something he needs to put slightly more effort into. he gives it his everything but it does take a toll on his social life at times and while his grades are slipping at times (he solely blames his learning difficulty) he is still determined to chase his dream of going pro someday even if it’s going to be one bumpy ride. he knows he IS more, so he WANTS more. the history father • Percy Reid, 50, skate park builder/skate shop owner mother • Sarah Reid, 43 siblings • HUNTER TAYLOR REID , 23, (cousin turned sibling) —-- Reid, 18 important people • friends, his skateboarding competitors hometown • Willow Bridge overall history • ‘The story of success comes in only when you rehearse it in the ink of failure.’ Failure. Pfft. That was for losers. Skateboarding was his outlet. His dream. He had been all of four years old when he tried to follow his father and Boyd was an active kid and he leaned into that, hard. Willow Bridge wasn't a terrible place for that. There were always places to go play, goof off and ride his board but kicks really started to settle in when he realized he wasn’t afraid to try new things and had a knack for keeping his feet glued to the board. He had never expected skateboarding to become more than a social event for him, and his parents hadn't seen that one coming either. (Okay, so maybe his dad had.) He was aware of Hunter’s situation but has no idea what the boy actually went through. Never in his life seen the older boy as a cousin, he had always been his brother. Boyd had been lucky to enjoy a carefree childhood with a supporting family, nothing like Hunter had before he came to live with them. Nope, he had always been protected and sheltered from the moment he was born even if he didn't see that himself. People had no idea what the hardships were when you came in freakin’ second on nationals. “Boyd. With a ‘y’& ‘d’” just like his mum had told others over the years whenever she had signed him up anywhere. Not that it mattered to him how they wrote it down since he was dyslexic as hell. Dyslexics have more nuf anyways. It truly was his one obstacle in life though. That particular ramp difficulty rating went through the roof. Oh! he also knew how to jump off the roof with his board but that wasn’t always appreciated anyhow, just as calling the referee at his last competition a ‘fucking jerk’ only to get disqualified. Lame. Next up: UK National Skateboard Championships. the role player |
