Elliot Scott had been annoyed when his father had delegated work at Blue Arces Stables to his cousin, Tempe Scott. He felt like that had been happening a lot lately, and he understood why, and while Elliot would never be petty about it, it still annoyed him and it annoyed him even more because he wasn't sure if it had been a work order that Shecanna Auten had put in or not. Still, Tempe must have sensed his annoyance with his father, since she had gracefully handed the job off to him and that was how he found himself in the Blue Arces pastures on an unusually hot September day.
It hadn't been Shecanna who had greeted him when he had arrived, it had been Nat Williams, and while Elliot's face had remained blank and stoic as ever, the man had found himself disappointed. While he hardly knew the beautiful blonde, and they had only exchanged a handful of texts since she had recently reached out to him on her own accord, Elliot had found himself enamored. Yes, as of right now, it was purely sexual attraction, and he would deny any suggestions that he wanted to have fun in the sheets with her even if it were a lie, but Elliot wouldn't mind getting to know her.
But he supposed that would be saved for another day. Elliot finally hammered in one last nail, and got up, taking a step back to admire his work on the first section of the fence. Still, he had a few more fixes to go. The sun was beating down on him though, his beading sweat reminded him of that. Certain that he was alone, all except for a few curious horses staring at him across the way, Elliot stripped his shirt off and simply threw it to the side, before getting back to work - completely unaware that the woman who had been haunting this thoughts lately was approaching.

Shecanan swore all the fencing would be done by now, but what did she know? There seemed to be a forever-growing list of things to do during spring into fall. Winter wasn’t that easy, either – just annoying with everything freezing. But working in the blazing sun felt better than freezing her real leg off.
She was busy elsewhere with Dublin, having Nat show the overhire where to head. Shecanna didn’t know who it was, but secretly hoped it was Tempe’s very attractive cousin. While she didn’t know what Elliot’s work ethic was, Shecanna didn’t have a doubt that he was also a hard worker. The Scott family was known for their good work.
After some grueling hours, she told everyone on her team to take a break. Dublin offered to break the overhire, but Shecanna insisted she would do it herself since she was headed that way anyway. She caught that glance that Dublin had given her. Though she kind of gave him the same back when he said he was headed to the main office.
Shecanna grabbed extra water and snacks and headed out towards the fence line. She was surprised and pleasantly turned on by the figure she saw ahead of her. Glistening muscles, dripping in sweat. Shecanna felt a bit naughty, thinking she should pay Elliot for the show he was unintentionally giving her.
“It’s me, Shecanna,” she announced approaching him from behind him. “If I had known it was you helping us out, I would’ve made sure I was here to supervise,” she added with a flirtatious smile. “We’re on break now. I brought some extra water and snacks if you’d like some.”
Elliot had no idea he had an audience in that moment as gloved hands grabbed hold of a rotten piece of fencing and pulled, the board plying off with brute strength alone. As he tossed it to the side, it was only then did he realize he was not alone: “It’s me, Shecanna.” Glancing over his shoulder now, piercing blue eyes fell on the beautiful blonde now, and he couldn't help but to offer a small smile, "I can see that." He turned to face her now, unperturbed by the fact that he was half naked in front of her, Elliot didn't mind, and from what he could see, she did not seem to mind either.
Laughter actually escaped him at her comment about supervising him, "You don't strike me as particularly bossy enough to supervise," he teased back now, removing his gloves to stuff them in his back pocket, figuring that this was going to be a nice break, "Admittingly, I was a little disappointed when some lanky kid showed me where to get started instead of you." Elliot supposed that didn't matter now though, given it was Shecanna standing before him instead of Nat. Her offer of extra snacks and water though was most welcome, "I wont say no to provisions."
Gently, he took them from her before leaning up against a good part of the fence he just fixed, snapping the lid off the water, pouring a little into his hand, before splashing it on to his face and neck to cool off. He eyed her curiously now before asking with a smile, "So are you going to supervise me on my break now since you missed the opportunity to supervise me this morning?"

“Oh? Well, I’ll try not to disappoint you the next time,” she smiled, handing him a bottle of water and snacks. The way he washed his face, Shecanna felt like a teenage girl. The way the water dribbled down his chin. It was like one of those 90s posters of the attractive men she used to gush over.
She opened her water bottle and took a sip. Knowing full well she wasn’t exactly looking for sex pot. But, Shecanna knew the man probably had an imagination for that sort of thing. At least her arms were exposed, so there was some kind of definition that was there. If Elliot was into that kind of thing.
“Only if you’d like me to,” Shecanna replied, a bit cheekily. “I’m sure my employees would be happy to have their freedom from me, anyway,” she added, opening up a small packet of Oreo cookies. Call her child, but she needed that sugar kick. “But I will happily bug you later with a cold beer if you’d prefer?” That was probably the most brave Shecanna had been with any kind of offer. But she couldn’t help but shoot her shot.
He smiled wryly at Shecanna's cheeky comeback, if one could call it, "Thanks. I appreciate it." Once again, drifting back to being a man a few words. Sometimes, it was hard to tell if it was a curse or not. Perhaps it depended on the situation. For non commitment flings, it had never been an issue, but every serious relationship he had, well, Elliot's personality had burned him one too many times. Only time would tell on how Shecanna Auten may fair with him, but the man honestly was willing to give it a shot.
Elliot could feel her eyes on him now, and he purposely gave her a show, but hardly an obvious one. To be honest, it happened to have been fate that the woman had stumbled upon him. He had beginning to think that he would go the entire work day without seeing her. Blue eyes fell back on her once he finished, watching her as she drank. Shecanna was certainly dressed for a work day, but that didn't detract from her beauty.
The man made a face at her comment, "Why would anyone want a break from you? Do you drive a hard bargain?" He asked now, breaking into a protien bar now. Oreos would come later, when he knew he was crashing near the end of the day and needed that last minute jolt to drive him forward. Speaking of forward, Shecanna's beer comment felt that way. He arched an eyebrow, but smiled, "Beer with you sounds great. Although I can't imagine you bugging me."
