It was something Jamie had been planning for a few months now. He had spoken to Dahlia about a charity for their yearly calendar.
He had sent a text to his coworkers in their group chat about a week ago, letting them know about the calendar photo shoot. Jamie double checked with the photographer to make sure that the day and time worked for him.
Jamie arrived to the fire station early, setting up the tea and coffee station if anyone wanted something to drink. He had dropped Rosa off at the babysitters and stopped at the bakery and got a few boxes of assorted pastries.
The photographer was also already arranged. She had seemed to be eager to take the photos for them, and he was willing to pay her for it. He was surprised that everyone had agreed to having their photos taken as some people were shy about it.
He knew it was going to be a chaotic day, as most of his employees were younger than him. It was an interesting dynamic, but it was for a good cause.
The first person came through the big doors of the fire station and Jamie lifted his head to see who it was as the coffee machine began brewing a pot of coffee. “Good Morning. Hope you are ready for the chaos.” He laughed, feeling odd that he was the oldest one working there.
Maybe it seemed a bit ridiculous, but Wren was actually a little excited for the day. As far as she was concerned, this was for a good cause, she was confident in her body and she thought it'd be a bit of a laugh and fun for the team. It wasn't like they were all about to run around naked, not that she'd mind considering the looks of her co-workers.... perhaps it was best she didn't speak too much or she might get called into HR for a meeting with comments like that. As the only female firefighter of the troop though she was determined to do the women proud, and she'd already spoken with Heather - who was a lovely young woman and seemed to have good taste. She'd agreed to join the boys and be topless. Naturally, it meant something different as a woman, so she'd be taking her picture alone and with careful positioning, but she saw no harm in it.
She'd gotten herself ready at home, not wanting to hold anything up or make a mess in the station with her make up spread everywhere. She'd just gone for light, a little make up to highlight her eyes and cheekbones, but she didn't want to go overboard; it felt important to be bare. She was showered and dressed in a good pair of jeans and comfy hoodie for now whilst she waited for her turn. She strolled through the doors, surprised to find herself one of the first here. “Good Morning. Hope you are ready for the chaos.” Wren gave a laugh and a quick salute. "Morning boss, I'm not sure about chaos but I'm set. Are you oiled up already? Done your quick press up pump up?" She teased - so much for not crossing the boundaries.
Mason watched as Wren got out of his car, heading into the station while he pulled down the visor to double check his hair was still styled. He'd used enough gel to make it look like it was still wet in order to pull off a pose he had in mind for his page of the calendar. Satisfied, he pushed open the door to his car and stepped out, pulling his bag out with him. It had felt like a lifetime leading up to the shoot but it was finally here - the day of the charity photo shoot and he was pretty excited to see what ideas the photographer had. He was used to posing for clothing shoots and online campaigns but he'd never done a calendar. He'd seen a couple of other charity calendars from different countries when looking up what they'd signed up for with Wren & Jay and it seemed like fun. If anything it would be hilarious watching everyone try to strike their best pose.
He entered through the doors, not long after his blonde bestie, smirking as he heard her response to their chief. "Morning boss, I'm not sure about chaos but I'm set. Are you oiled up already? Done your quick press up pump up? He pulled out a bottle of baby oil from his bag and waved it with a grin. "I have extra if you haven't." He dumped his bag next to the table and reached out to pour himself a coffee. "Hey don't knock the pump till you've tried it lark." He'd be doing his own set before his turn in front of the camera.
Truth be told, he had thought this whole fire fighter calendar thing had been some running joke throughout the station. So when Ronan had gotten the message about a week ago that the photo shoot was going down, the young male had been floored. The past seven days had been hell on his body, he had actually went to the gym to figure out how to lift what he could in the weight section. While he didn't have any traditional training at the gym, his hauling around hay bales and other work on the farm back home apparently had at least helped him out in the ability to lift. But marvel super hero muscles don't grow in seven days, so to make up for his lack of that, he managed to convince his grandfather to lend him Muffin for the shoot because nothing said adorable like a man in uniform holding a rag doll cat.
With Muffin securely away in her mesh travel case, he borrowed his grandfather's truck and headed down to the station. Considering the time, he also hoped to god that someone put some coffee in the pot since in his nerves, he managed to forget his tumbler on the counter. Rookie move. Pulling up to the station and parking now, blue grey eyes scanned the parking lot. It was fairly empty, but he recognized the two cars there already. One belonged to the Chief, and the other belonged to Mason Oliver. So at least two people where here, three if Wren had hitched a ride, "What do you say Muffin? Should we go knock them dead with our blue steel?" The cat sat nothing, not even a mew, but he expected nothing less from her.
Grabbing the mesh carrier, he carefully slung the strap over his shoulder before gingerly getting out of the truck and shutting the door behind him. He headed inside, and sure enough, the suspects where there. When he was within ear shot of them talking about pumping, Ronan couldn't help but to roll his eyes, "Sorry Mason but fuck that," he informed his friend before nodding his hellos and making a beeline to the coffee machine. Placing the carrier gingerly on the counter, he unzipped it for the cat to poke her head out while he poured himself a cup of coffee. Inhaling the fumes, he turned around to lean against the counter to nurse his mug. Before anyone could question the cat, he then said, "This is Muffin. She will be my mate for the photo shoot. I need her to make up for my lack of muscles."

had he jumped at the chance to pose for a charity calander? not really. had he eventually given in and said yes? of course he had. because the fact it was for a good cause had worn him down. he was a little nervous though, because as much as he didn't make a big show about it, he wasn't all that much of a fan of getting his kit off in public. he was more of a 'shirt at the beach' kind of person. though with his in laws having some strange connection with the game of strip poker he'd gotten used to it, it wasn't all that much one of his favourite things to do. but he'd do it because it was a good cause, he'd agreed to it and because he'd promised logan a peek at whatever shots they got today, even the ones that didn't make it into the final product.
he sipped his coffee out of his cup as he walked into the station, having come in on his day off to shoot this thing and he grinned a little at the conversation he walked into. hair mousse and body oil? he hadn't thought that far ahead though he doubted he was going to go that far. his hair was short enough it sat fine on it's own and if anyone came near him with the body oil he was out. "i'm sure heather can make us all look fantastic in post production." he grinned as he sat on one of the tables in the room. he wasn't built badly and he had muscles from helping at the barn and what work outs he did do, but he wouldn't say they were anything close to impressive.

heather was excited for today. the calander that had been in the works for a while now was actually being shot and she had the lucky opportunity to shoot it. though she didn't think herself lucky for what most people would assume she was. she wasn't excited about what she was shooting, or who really, but the fact that it would have her name on it, hopefully people beyond hickstead saw it, she was already planning on using some of the photos for her assignment at university, if they worked at least. she hadn't seen the shots yet so she couldn't say for certain until after she'd taken them. she'd already spoken with the fire fighters about the sorts of photos they wanted, especially wren because she was the only woman in the calander, heather wanted to make sure she got what she wanted and it looked amazing for her, so she really stood out amongst the rest of the guys.
she had everything she needed set up in the room they were going to be taking the photos in, the lights were perfect, the props all ready (not that there was many of them, nothing to distract from the focus of the photos really). she double checked everything was good before she walked down the hall to where she could hear the voices coming from. "i can make anyone look as solid as popeye." she said with a smile as she walked into the room and she immediately saw the cat carrier and bent down to peer into see the cat.
Cayden double checked the time in the text message and sighed when he realized that he was going to be just a minute or two late. Oh well it wasn't like this was appearing for his shift, it was for some photoshoot that Jamie thought was a good idea. Who honestly liked these things? He wasn't entirely sure but he was told that it was for charity, so he figured he'd attend. He had already styled his hair for the day, and threw on a simple outfit before getting in his car and driving over to the station. He saw quite a bit of cars there already, so he quickly got out, locked his car, and made his way in.
"Ah now that the fun has arrived, we can all start with the chaos" he said simply before grabbing some coffee, and adding some sugar and cream before taking a drink. "How many more people are we waiting for? Are some still missing?" he asked, more towards Jamie since he texted everyone, and he was sure that he could look and see who was missing, and figure it all out himself, but he didn't want to.
