It certainly had been a busy morning for Harlow Alenko with back to back lessons with John Ryan for her two show horses. Between riding and then cool down, one look at her watch informed her that she was running out of time before she needed to get to her blow out appointment. Was a blow out necessary post ride? Possibly not, but was it necessary for a girls date downtown at Bel Amour? Abso-fucking-lutely. Naturally, Claudia VanderBeek - that bitch - had stolen Ty Webber for her horse and mount, leaving Harlow to take care of brushing down and cooling off her second horse, Beamer, before passing him off to Porter. She didn't even have time this morning to partake in one of her favorite pass times of annoying Ivan Park for the sheer joy. An utter disappointment.
Harlow whisked herself off to a quick pit stop at her house to shower down her body, get dressed, and apply skin care, make up, and perfume before heading off to Color Me Crazy for Scout Oliver to take care of her hair, giving her a proper blow out before pulling it up into the young woman's favorite signature style - a high pony tail. She made sure to ooo and awh over Scout's work, after all, the hair stylist had never let her down before, and promptly left after paying and leaving a hefty tip. As always, Harlow appeared to be running fashionably late, but as far as she was concerned, Natalie St. Croix and Kennedy Pietrangleo would live. They were used to her antics by now, and as, well, what where they? Friends? High end acquaintances? People who tolerated her? Anyways, they knew better than to fault her.
She pulled up to her parents' hotel now, stepping out and chucking the keys of her sports car to the Valet before heading up the stairs with purpose. Shockingly, in the lobby, the young woman spotted a familiar face, "Why, hello Kennedy. Guess I am not the only one running late." She clocked her friend's outfit, and realized that, for once, she might be the one who underdressed with her oversized shirt dress and white sneakers. However, if she was trying on dresses all day, Harlow preferred the ease of getting in and out of clothing fast - besides, she was still fucking adorable. Stepping into the elevator with Kennedy, she merely shrugged, "Knowing Nat, she was on time." And sure enough, as the doors opened to reveal the pent house and one Natalie St. Croix as well, playfully complaining about waiting.
Harlow rolled her dark brown eyes, a smirk dancing across her lips as she replied in good jest, "And yet, Nat, I see you have made herself quite at home. I hope Wendy didn't give you any shit upon your arrival." She clapped her hands, beckoning her friend to get up, "As for the blow out, you do not want to see my hair after two hours of hard riding. It looks like bed head, and not the sexy kind. But enough small talk. What's this about a ball you're attending?"
Harlow wasn't entirely sure when the other young woman claimed that her stallion was quite calm save for when he was on his own at Blue Arces, "I see." It certainly hadn't looked that way on the beach, and as the thought crossed her mind, she used some inside leg and outside rein to move Alpha out a bit more, and allowing Rosso more room despite appearing perfectly fine. With that said and done, Harlow relaxed a bit more as her brown gaze followed down the beach as their conversation carry on, "Precious cargo, and trucks and trailers are just bulky. I prefer to drive my sports car." Her gaze flicked to Kennedy now, "And you? You're telling me you trailered Rosso here yourself?" Truthfully, she doubted it. Harlow heard the Pietrangleos' had their own butler to take care of their daughter.
She made a huffy sound at the insinuation that her boyfriend was too busy to hang out with her, "Well, sometimes he is. Ty is one of John Ryan's grooms. But when he's not with John, he's with me." Okay, well, maybe he was with her a little bit less than that, but, semantics. Besides, Ty was her's and her's alone, and Harlow wanted to make that absolutely clear that he wasn't up for grabs. The young woman hated when other girls asked her about Ty, it always brought up a sense of paranoia in her - like they were out to steal her boyfriend from her. She welcomed the change in conversation now, "I ride Alpha and Beamer six times a week, and Aristocrat four times. I'm sure you ride just as much." And then, Kennedy's next statement caused her to raise an eyebrow, "Oh? How do you not have time? Don't tell me...you work?"
What had been off to a pleasant start in conversation between the two young women seemed to spiral a little, the both of them serving up some attitude with each other. But it couldn't be helped, at least, that's what Harlow thought. She didn't quite like how Kennedy Pietrangleo scoffed at her words, although, the other woman could probably say the same of Harlow, "I don't need to prove anything to you." She replied coolly now, below her, Alpha was now picking up on the attitude of his owner, making his own ears swivel and cause the warmblood cross to wonder if he should be sparking some of his own attitude. Harlow could sense it as well, but didn't quite correct him, not yet at least. As Kennedy claimed that she had heard her name at Blue Arces, she couldn't help but to roll her eyes, "Oh. I'm sure you've heard nothing but good things about me." The words came out biting and sarcastic, another sour point for Harlow, she knew people didn't like her, and that often bothered her, even though she'd never change her attitude.
Guess she wasn't the only one who used daddy's money to buy horses. That was the moral of the story of how Kennedy came to own an Olympic jumper, "Ah. I'm sure he'll take you beyond Hickstead circuits then. Maybe I'll see you on the road." And then, a thought occurred to her, "Who on earth do you train with then? I certainly don't see you at John's."

The follow up to 'Harlsburg' did nothing but cause a rather dramatic sigh to escape her lips. She was going to loose this game of banter fast, it's not as if she had much on her mop of a baby brother, "Well, I am a lady after all," Harlow replied now, doing her best impression of Marie from cats, rolling shoulder and snooty look included. It was perhaps one of the few moments that she was willing to show to her youngest sibling that she wasn't always a villain, but those moments were for him alone - their sister was never lucky, but that was also because Harlow thought her a backstabbing bitch thanks to how their parents raised their pair of daughters.
Dark brown eyes merely watched Wendell type away now at the computer now, and it took everything to not roll her eyes at such a move. The young woman never understood why he took this little job seriously, she doubted her parents did. Speaking of parents though, that next comment caused Harlow to raise a perfectly manicured eyebrow, "Why am I not surprised that even Daddy would call the clientele here 'common' folk when really the only common folk are the help." Still, the young woman glanced casually over her shoulder now to take a gander at the folks in the lobby - each and every face she knew from Hickstead or the magazines, their only crime to being 'common' was that they ranked lower than the Alenkos on Forbes.
She returned her attention to Wendell now, who merely shrugged at her speculation over their parents fighting. Harlow couldn't help but to frown now, dark brown eyes studying him closely. Did he know something that she didn't? As his hazel eyes looked at her, Wendell seemed to show indifference to her once more that he didn't care if she stayed around or not. It was funny, her baby brother could think he was better than the rest of them all he wanted, but he had that cold, indifferent Alenko attitude and air down to a pinch, "I won't keep you from your silly job." She replied, watching as her cup of tea was placed in front of her now before the hands disappeared once more. Now that there was no one to eavesdrop, Harlow once more rounded on her baby brother, "Wendell," yes, she meant business, "Do you know what's going on with our parents? Did you hear something they don't want us to know?"
show name • A Gentleman's Legacy owner • HARLOW FREYA ALENKO barn • Blue Arces age • Nineteen breed • English Warmblood Cross height • 17 hands discipline • Show Jumping gender • Stallion likes • Long Grooming Sessions, Falling Asleep in Cross Ties, Sunbathing in the Pasture, Long Hacks in Open Field, Moderate Level Jumps dislikes • Big Jumps (He's getting arthritic), Being Rushed, Young Stallions who think that they're Hot Shit, Watermellon Rines, When Harlow comes to visit strengths • Big Heart, Brave Jumper weaknesses • Lazy outside of the Arena, Doesn't care for the Stablehands fears • People Wailing on him (There's a reason why Harlow retired him instead of sold him) overall personality • Aristocrat lives up to his name and is a pure gentleman of a horse - a gentle giant. He's rather docile and polite, especially with Harlow and loves to be doted upon. When he's not with his human, Aristocrat prefers to be louging out in the field and basking underneath the sun. While he's no longer competition, he still requires some light riding - he gets depressed otherwise, and often looks forward to small to moderate jumps now, although he'll grow sour at anything bigger due to his oncoming arthritis which is managed with pain medication. Given he requires a serious rider still, and hates being wailed upon with aggressive legs or frustrated riders, Aristocrat lucked out in Harlow opting to keep him to live out his retirement days. For that, he will always make sure to give her his heart and be brave in most situations.

Harlow rolled her eyes at the use of 'Harlsburg' as a greeting. Perhaps she deserved that given that she had called him 'Wendy', but nonetheless, the young woman was still annoyed by her youngest sibling, "Can't you call me something more feminine?" she deadpanned, not bothering to hide her annoyance. While she tended to treat her baby brother just a tad better than her sister, typically she felt indifferent about Wendell, her attitude would always skew towards tempter the more often he poked the beast. While she ignored his quip about how she was burning through her allowance, Harlow couldn't help but to point out what felt like the obvious, "Yes, well, you could intern at headquarters than behind the desk the hotel like a common employee." Its not as if Wendell were like Cary Davies.
She perked up a little bit at the mentioning of their parents being in the longue, "Oh?" Brown eyes looked down the lobby towards the great doors, that was rather tempting, although something dawned on her mind, "I don't know if that would be fun. Mother and Father have seemed distracted as of lately." And she wasn't sure why, but something was going on. The young woman figured it nothing, if it were something worrisome, surely they would have informed their children. And yet, hushed whispers remained in the halls and were quickly silenced whenever she entered the room. Her attention returned to Wendell now, her brown eyes staring at him, "Maybe I'll stay with you. I've already ordered my drink anyways, and I can't imagine you want to be rid of me this early in the conversation." Actually, she could, but Harlow was inclined to be a bitch for trying to shake her that easily.
Harlow chose to ignore his attitude comment, after all, what did he know? He was just a groom, and as far as she was concerned, she didn't answer to him, she answered to John - the only man at this establishment that deserved her respect. Besides, just because the groom was cute didn't mean that he got a free pass from her. She was on top of Beamer now, settling into the saddle as the young woman motioned for Ty to take care of her stirrups. Beneath her, the grey stallion's head perked up just a bit now, rising high in the anticipation that they would be working soon. He tried to take a step forward or two, only to be reminded of the bit in his mouth which pulled him to a halt. It annoyed Harlow, but what annoyed her were the words that followed such a display from her new stallion: "Well, we will see how you two work together."
She could not help but to arch an eyebrow, "What's that suppose to mean?" She inquired now, wondering what this groom could possibly be getting at. Granted, he didn't know her - but surely John must have been saying his praises about her to him. There was no way that Ty Webber could possibly be doubting her skills as a rider. As soon as the thought passed through her mind though, the handsome redhead confirmed as much, only annoying her as he called her 'cocky'. Brown eyes rolled, and a dramatic sigh escaped her, "I'm not cocky, I am that amazing." If their genders had been reserved, Harlow might have called him 'sweetheart' to add insult to injury. She sat there stewing now as he handled her stirrups now, waiting for him to mess up even though he did so such thing. His next question caught her by surprise, "Oh. Atristocrat is still good, but getting up there in age so I want to start training his replacement. And while I love Alpha, his pedigree can only get him so far in height for me. Beamer will excel us to the next levels."
Truth be told, the young woman hadn't expected Ty to give her a serious answer to her inquiry about his new job here, but it appeared that he was more than willing to oblige her, "Derby? You're a hunter rider?" Well, that was new. She was a little surprised to hear that. But he was already trying to send her on her way, to which Harlow merely smirked, "Oh, I will. And I hope you enjoy watching." While it was tempting to watch him walk away, she wanted to see just how those breeches clinched to his assets from behind, Harlow ignored the temptation. She was here to ride. Giving Beamer a gentle squeeze, the stallion launched into a spritely walk as John called out to her, "Excellent, Harlow. I want him walking with energy without trying to break into a trot without your command. Do one lap, and then start up and down at the walk to get your body warmed up." Well that was easy enough to do. Making sure her stallion was staying close to the wall, a lap went by before Harlow started to move up and down, making sure to push her hips forward when she went up.
From the center of the arena, John stood there, blue eyes watching her and seeing Ty return to his side, "Seems like you two were getting along well," he said with a smile, little did he know what was said between the two of them. Before he could get too far into his lesson now though, John's phone buzzed. A frown met his lips, knowing that it must be serious if he was getting interrupted during a lesson - especially a Harlow Alenko lesson. Taking a peak at his phone, a sigh escaped him. Pocketing the phone once more, he called out to his student, "Harlow! I'm sorry but I have to deal with something. I'm leaving you in Ty's capable hands for now, but I'll try and be back as soon as possible." John did feel a little guilty, barely two weeks into the job and he was already throwing Ty to the wolves, "Ty, I'm leaving you in charge. Flat work for warm up, followed by jumping. No more than 80 meters. Beamer's more powerful than her other two mounts, and she's still learning how to handle that...maybe find a gentle way to work on that with her." And with that, he was running off.

Harlow understood the words coming out of the personal assistant's mouth, but for some reason, she could not possibly comprehend them. Why would John Ryan ask Ivan to reschedule her? Surely, he could not mean that. Ivan didn't know what he was talking about - she was John's star pupil after all. The young woman also didn't like that smile that Ivan had plastered across his face like it pained him to be so nice to her, it annoyed her how fake it looked compared to his words. Harlow shifted her weight from one foot to another, merely to do something with her excitable, angry energy as she flatly, and quite stubbornly, replied, "I don't believe you."
This point was only driven home when the man went on to inform her that John had an important meeting that interfered with her schedule. Once again, Harlow was certain that Ivan was speaking tongues to her. The fact that he stressed how important the meeting was just made her far more irritable, and full of denial, "I am his best rider, Ivan. He cannot simply have anything more important than me." The concept of anybody having anything more important than her was completely foreign.
He was still feigning that smile at her, and it still annoyed her. But what annoyed her even more was that the personal assistant was giving her an ultimatum. The fact that he looked at his watch made it even more annoying, like he had better things to do than argue with her. Harlow wasn't sure why, as far as she knew, he was single and had nothing better to do with his life than act like he was the ruler of Ryan Sports Hall as if John had given him the keys to the kingdom, "I am not riding with Claudia. Why don't you move her?" she demanded now, nevermind that Ty was helping Claudia tack up as they spoke, "I don't understand why she isn't the one being penalized by this 'supposed meeting'? She gets both John and Ty for the hour?"

She watched her nemesis shift a little bit as he stuck his hands into his pockets, could it be a nervous tick? Harlow searched her brain, trying to remember given it had been a while since she last saw Maddox Black in the arena - something that she still thought suspicious. It wasn't long though before that millisecond of uncertainty was wiped away from the young man and he was already scoffing at her. His words made her arch a brow in return, before sneering back, "Well, if I ride against sub-par riders, than what does that make you? Given how often we're in the same arena." And damn right, she had a crown to defend. Still, it was hard to argue over semantics when there was still the mystery of why he was here at Blue Acres.
"You say business like its an acceptable answer for me," Harlow shot back. Of course, Maddox had always been a private person, it was a trait that annoyed the young woman to death and got under her skin multiple times in their history. This interaction proved to be no different. She always wanted to know what the competition was up to. After all, she just fessed up to retiring one of her own horses, one that the other rider knew well enough from their times competition. To fill the void, she gave Aristocrat a loving pat now, just to remind the stallion that despite this conversation, she certainly hadn't forgotten about him there.
What happened next though was something Harlow Alenko had not been expecting. Mentioning retiring her stallion brought a scowl to Maddox's face. Brown eyes watched as his lips curled back to spit words at her: "So, useless is what you are saying," he replied, his tone a tad more sharp and bitter, "No point in keeping a horse like that, waste of time and money really. Dreamer hit her peak and after that, well, I put her out of her misery." There weren't many things that could make Harlow Alenko quiet, but that had certainly been one, "Excuse me?!" She could feel herself getting riled up now, "We may not get along but I don't believe for a second that you believe that. I know you loved that stupid mare - I can't imagine you put her down." Was that why he was there? Was that mare really dead and buried into the grown? Her eyes narrowed now, "And say what you want about me, but don't you dare insult my horse like he's some nag."

If this had been a group setting, Harlow probably would have rolled her eyes at such a response to being nitpicky over a compliment - the irony being that the young woman herself was just as nitpicky about compliments herself. However, like others, it was hard to fault oneself instead of others. She wasn't in a preaching mood though, and as their horses lined up and walked side by side, Harlow knew this conversation was for the long haul, and if she got tired of it, then the sass and eyerolling could come out to quickly end it. A frown sat on her lips as the stallion gave Alpha a side eye now, one her warmblood cross was more than happy to return. As a result, Harlow merely fiddled with the bit now to redirection attention, figuring circling out for now would make conversation difficult.
"Ah, well that's good," Harlow responded before musing, "I wasn't sure earlier. He looked like he was being a little hot for you." Although, the young woman supposed that was expected of most young stallions. She knew well enough to not wrap all stallions up into one box of crazy, Aristocrat himself had always been quite mellow, even before he started hitting 'senior' territory. The question prompted a shrug from Harlow now as brown eyes looked to the waves, "It's not that. It's just a lot of work. I don't mind loading and packing my horses, but I hate driving the truck and trailer. I usually make my boyfriend do it for me." Alas, Ty, had only been able to help her pack and load, leaving her to handle the drive. As for the horses, the young woman nonchalantly added, "I have three. Two show and one's retired but still requires light riding."
Brown eyes glanced back over again at Kennedy now and her stallion, who finally looked to be settling down, "Is he your only horse?" It wouldn't surprise her if that was the answer, Harlow suspected the other woman had her hands full with only the bay. For a moment, Harlow almost thought they might get along until Kennedy threw her rock comment right back in her face, "Excuse you, I do not live under a rock." She replied haughtily. It made her wonder what the girl must do if she was so convinced that one Harlow Alenko should actually know who she was. The mere thought of how Kennedy had just talked to her was getting the young woman all riled up, but in the back of her brain, she heard Ty's voice telling her to be calm and gentle, so she managed to bite her tongue before anything else came out that could be mean, "Oh? Taking the showing up a notch?"
An eyebrow arched at Kennedy's following words: "Now I've heard of you. I'm Kennedy, I ride at Blue Acres. Wait, is your retired horse Aristocrat or something?" Or something? Or something?! Aristocrat deserved far better recognition than that. The fucking nerve, "Yes. Aristocrat is mine," Harlow replied now, trying to keep herself from gritting her teeth as she started to recompose herself, not bothering to say it was nice to meet Kennedy, since she was beginning to think otherwise. Her gaze fell to the stallion once more now after his introduction, "Oh, I thought he looked familiar."And now wonder he's too much for you, she thought darkly to herself, "How did you find him?" Clearly, Harlow was not the only one here with money now.

It had been a full day of shopping in Willow Bridge City for Harlow Alenko. So full, that apparently, it was hard to shove all of the bags into her Audi TT Roadster, something that she was currently finding baffling. There was a dark overcast in the skies, giving the young woman pause on whether or not she wanted to have the car fold it's ceiling away. Looking over her bags once more, as well as the bags in her assistant's hands, Harlow frowned - something was going to have to go, and she knew exactly what: "Cordi. Put my bags in the car. You're going to have to find your own way back home." The look on Cordellia Jones' face said it all, but not a peep escaped her, causing Harlow to coolly smile.
The woman managed to get all of Harlow's bags into the Audi now, and just in time too, since raindrops started tapping away on the ground and the car. Harlow slinked on into the driver's side, ignited the engine and started to drive off. Although, she didn't make it far, the weather appeared to have other ideas as the light rain quickly turned into a torrential downpour. This was the one thing Harlow absolutely hated about driving herself. Maybe she shouldn't have left Cordellia Jones behind in the rain. Well, there was one place to seek shelter until this hopefully sputtered off.
Harlow made her way to the Silver Stag - deep into the heart of Willow Bridge City - and as she pulled up to the driveway, the hotel staff immediately recognized her car and quickly came to her beck and call once she parked under the awning. Getting out, she handed her keys over and proceeded to head inside, a few people running after her to try and grab her belongings so they could prevent the owner's daughter simply from dropping them wherever she pleased. The hotel lobby soon gave her pause, as she spotted someone she knew all too well, "Get me a London Fog,"Harlow said before making her way to the front desk now like a dangerous tiger on a prowel, "Wendy. Baby brother. You do know that you don't have to work, right?"
While Harlow didn't quite have the ugly relationship with her youngest brother as she did with her younger sister, it was still hard to not poke him simply for fun. Most of the time, she was rather indifferent to his existence, and forgot about him constantly, but every once in a while, it was like he appeared before her and she had to ask him about his weird behavior such as having a working job.
Harlow Alenko could not believe she lost track of time while some light riding with Aristocrat out in the arena. Even though he was retired, the warmblood still thrived on having work to do. Retirement suited him fine away from the big shows and the traveling, but doing nothing in a paddock did not. Harlow actually had not believed the Blue Arces barn manager until she saw the evidence herself, and after that, vowed to make sure that she gave Aristocrat the time he needed back in the arena, even if they were light jumps. She owed the warmblood that much, given he had been the young woman's first official show horse and they had been a team forever.
"Sorry boy, this is going to be it for the day. I have a date." It was hard for the young woman to not sound giddy, and thank god, there were no people around to witness it. Harlow didn't want anybody to see her being foolish over her boyfriend, Ty Webber, or see that she somehow had something resembling a soul. That showed weakness, something that her family did not approve of, and growing up in that household, neither did Harlow. Her boyfriend of two years, and sometimes her trainer John Ryan, where the only ones who got to see her with her cold steel armor off.
Hopping off, she lead Aristocrat back to the barn now. Glancing at her applewatch, Harlow knew she was going to be running late if she couldn't pawn her horse off onto some unassuming stable hand. Her brown eyes kept a sharp watch until she saw someone. A girl who vaguely looked familiar from a few years ago. Oh, what was her name? Emerald? Emmy? Emily? That sounded right, "Emily!" Harlow snapped now, hurrying over. The girl hadn't acknowledged her, much to her annoyance, Harlow tapped her on the shoulder now before practically handing her the reins, "Emily. I'm running late. I need you to take care of Aristocrat. Remember. He should get a wash, you are only allowed to use his shampoo - not Blue Arces - I have his shampoo specifically formulated to make him shine. Afterward, he gets two homemade horse cookies. Not three, not one. Two. Then you may turn him out. Got that?"

It was hard to imagine that Harlow couldn't get any more annoyed by her morning, but it soon became clear that she could, at exactly the moment that Ivan Park held his finger out to quiet her like she was some fucking five year old child. Dark brown eyes narrowed at him, her anger bubbling up now, and she made a mental note to figure out how to steal his prosthetics and make his life a living hell. If anyone had asked Harlow what the worst thing about Ryan Sports Hall, it would be the man in front of her. John Ryan had practically giving his Personal Assistant the keys to the Kingdom, and Harlow didn't like that. It meant sharing John with someone who controlled his schedule, and even worse, it meant that she couldn't control her schedule or his.
Her arms folded over her chest now, bitterly tapping her foot away in the office as she watched Ivan walk around like a hawk, hoping to bore a hole into the back of his head so she could be done with him forever. Unfortunately, reality that didn't seem to work that way, since he was still standing. Matters were made even worse when he turned around now, and simply beamed a smile at her, and that just rubbed her even more. The motherfucker knew exactly what he was doing, "What can you do?" she asked now, suddenly annoyed that she was so short and he was so tall, "You can fix your scheduling error. I am not sharing John with Claudia Vanderbeek." She should end it there, but her anger was still flaring, "I thought I made it clear to you when you arrived here that I always ride alone with John. I get private training sessions."

It seemed to take the other young woman a moment or two to realize that she and her horse were not the only ones on the beach, something that annoyed Harlow. She wasn't the greatest at waiting around to be acknowledged, in fact, she utterly hated it. Harlow hated it even more when waiting was followed up with a cool thanks that came after a correction. Still, she reigned in her bitchy girl attitude for the time being since this girl was unknown to her and this was also not Ryan Sports Hall, "Oh? What were you aiming for if not cute then?"
She inched Alpha a little closer, but not by much. Harlow merely did it so conversing would be easier and they wouldn't have to yell at each other over the waves and the wind, but she had caught that the other girl's horse was a stallion, and she wasn't about to risk anything with Alpha. The young woman seemed to have him mostly under control, but Harlow caught some form discrepancies and it was currently hard to tell with how confident the girl was feeling at the moment sitting in the saddle, and if there was one thing Harlow didn't like being around, it was a lack of confidence, "Ah. It shows," she replied now, "And no, this isn't our first time. We just haven't been here in a while." A snort escaped the haflinger warmblood cross now, as if to remind her of something, "Admittingly, I haven't been giving Alpha here enough attention...so this is our bonding time."
Dark brown eyes merely watched the girl now finick with her position. Perhaps this conversation wouldn't last long. Harlow had half of the mind to turn and leave, she could share a beach and not talk to her, but the follow up question both gave her an excuse to brag and be bitchy, "You haven't seen me before? Do you not show locally or internationally?" She asked now, her brow arching, "I'm Harlow. Harlow Alenko. I train under John Ryan at his barn, but one of my horses is retired to Blue Arces. I'm sure you've heard of them." In fact, this girl looks exactly the type who would board and ride there, "So...you are?"

There was mild chaos after the near collision, mostly from the horses. Brown eyes watched the Brunette's horse try to back up a few steps and pulling against the lead rope. Alpha himself had a moment of stupidity before settling down besides her, but now the gelding was ready to go, as if he could sense his human's rising impatience. Harlow rolled her eyes when the girl actually glanced over her shoulders to confirm who exactly she had been talking to, "Yes. I am talking to you." She snarked back now, but it became apparent that this young woman was ready to dance.
The other woman had her own outburst now, but it was built on laughter and Harlow didn't appreciate it. Hearing her call Ty a mere stable hand made Harlow want to bristle, "He's not a lowly stablehand, he's a groom," she snapped at her. One of John Ryan's groom, but given this was his stables, she doubted that she needed to distinguish that unless this girl was living under a rock. By this point, Harlow wasn't sure if she wanted to believe the girl that she hadn't been flirting with Ty, that's not what her sister's pictures made it look like, but even Harlow knew how loaded it was to bring up picture evidence.
A low whinny escaped Alpha along with a stop of his hoof, but Harlow ignored him other than to tighten her grip on his reins - whether it was annoyance at him or at this girl though, it was hard to tell, "Well. Since you're new," Harlow said in a clipped voice now, "I'll only say this once: Stay away from Ty. He's mine." And that was a bonafide fact.
