"I mean, I'm starved so I could eat for five," She nodded in agreement and listened as Cassie listed off the mouth-watering food she’d made for them, already unsure of what to try first. Seeing Adalia reach for the hummus, she followed suit, grabbing a cucumber and dunking it into the dip. “I haven’t had a chance to try this one. One of my friends back home sent it to me.” She looked at the wine and read the label. She hadn’t heard of the name before but it looked good. “I also made a cake from scratch.” Zoe looked at her and lifted a brow. ”Seriously? Do you want a wife?” She joked. She wasn’t the best cook herself but she did enough to get by. She could make a mean batch of cookies which went down well with ice cream. "Client's have been somewhat demanding this week but I'm so glad for this evening, I've been looking forward to it." She smiled and rolled her eyes ”Ugh tell me about it, they’ve been so needy this week.” Zoe took the wine glass from the blonde and took a long sip. “Anyone really terrible either of you would like to gossip about?” She let out a soft laugh and shook her head ”Not that I can think of right now, what about you guys?”
"Oh really? That sounds like fun! Was he trying to upskill the team for robbers or bad customers?" Zoe snorted, trying not to spill her drink as she took another sip. ”I wish, it was for ‘team building’ – not that we need it but yeah it was really fun, we did a smash room as well which was thrilling” She said with a grin, her eyes lighting up at the memory. "I wish it were that simple that I could just flip sides.. whilst I can appreciate a pretty woman, I don't want to date one." She gave her friend a playful wink ”Well if you ever change your mind, I’ll show you the ropes.” She joked with a grin. As much as she loved the girl, the idea of dating her best friend felt wrong. Adalia was like the sister she never had. Zoe got up off the couch, disappearing momentarily to get the ice cream from the freezer. ”So, anything new with your love life?” She called. She grabbed two spoons from the draw and walked back into the lounge, handing the brunette a spoon as she sat back down on the couch, placing the ice cream in the middle of them.

"If only it were so easy to crush them," She laughed and shook her head. ”If only! Moses had us axe throwing the other day, that could work” She joked. She knew violence wasn’t the answer, even if it felt right at the time. Although, she wouldn’t be opposed to keying his car if she ever saw it again. "So how in the hell are you supposed to find a good one?" She snorted and shrugged. Lost for words for a moment. ”No idea! I’d say try batting for the other team like me but girls are just as hard” She said, rolling her eyes with a grin. Girls were different to men but they came with their own complications which was one of the reasons she just avoided relationships all together.

The brunette glanced around the apartment as she walked inside, following the blonde to the kitchen which she figured was in the same place hers was. She heard Adalia and grinned ”Late as usual herondale!” She teased as she placed the wine in the fridge. “I probably have enough food to feed an army but I can divide it up between the three of us.”” She smiled and moved aside so the woman could get into the fridge to grab the food. ”No worries, I brought my appetite.” The food looked delicious. "Where's the wine?? “Do you two want to start with white wine? Or I’ve got red as well” Zoe glanced at Adalia then back to the blonde, taking a second to decide. ”I’ll take a white please!” She didn’t mind red but she preferred white when given the option. “I’ve got a baked brie in the oven to start off with and a vegetable tray with hummus to start off. Please, make yourselves at home. How have your weeks been?” Zoe smiled at the host ”Not to bad, pretty busy actually! How’s yours been?”
"They'll always find a way to creep back in when they want something." She nodded and rolled her eyes. ”Like cockroaches.” She muttered as she grabbed her own handful of crisps. She popped a couple into her mouth as she listened to her friend, appreciating somebody to rant too. "Why do men never seem to understand that 'no' word? I mean, it's just too letters, not difficult to understand, almost the same in every fucking language." Zoe snorted and shook her head ”Because they got spoiled by their mothers and didn’t learn the word no as a child and probably because society stroke their damn egos too much” Of course it wasn’t ‘all men’ but it was the fair majority. "Could you get his number blocked? Or is he contacting you with different numbers? They never bloody change, don't know how some girls can fall for that crap." She brushed off her hands as she finished the crisp then picked up her wine glass, taking a sip. ”Yeah he’s ringing from burner phones the creep. Cause they’re slime balls that say what girls want to hear” She’d been young and naïve enough to believe all his crap but not anymore.

Zoe placed down a bowl of cat food next to the automatic water dispenser then gave her cat a quick scratch behind the ears. "Be good Rufio. . don't do anything your mother wouldn't" She said with a grin, knowing there probably wasn't much she wouldn't do. She grabbed the bottle of wine she'd set down beside her and stood up to leave the apartment, locking the door behind her before heading towards the stairs rather than the lift. She was only going down a couple of floors and didn't mind the short walk. It was pretty handy making friends with people who lived in the same building. It meant she could drink and walk home. No faffing about for a taxi. She usually spent most of her wine nights with Adalia - when she wasn't with the work gang but they'd both kept bumping into the same girl during their to and fro from home and she'd seemed nice, inviting them around for some food and drinks. When she reached the girl's flat number, she rang the bell on the door, a smile appearing on her face as it opened. "Hey Cassie! I know you said you had everything handled but I couldn't not bring something so I've brought some rose" She held up the bottle before moving into the flat.
A grin crossed her pink lips, nudging the brunette with her foot. "Please, I need you in my life too much to kill you." She said, batting her eyelashes. she couldn't imagine adalia not being in her life. she let out a soft laugh and nodded in agreement. "Yeah. . or a girl, they're drama too. .mhmm, I could be down for being single for life with wine." She said, drinking some more. She could still sleep with people and be single, win-win situation. She ran a hand through her hair and rolled her eyes, sitting back against the couch. "I don't even know how the asshole got my number." She'd had to change it a number of times during the year she'd broken up with him.
Things had been quiet for the last couple of years and she thought she'd got rid of him for good but clearly not. "Apparently he's been in jail for the past couple of years. .aggravated assault, shocker." She said, rolling her eyes once more. "Wanted me to know he stills loves me, he's a changed man, blah blah blah." She scoffed, forcing herself not to roll her eyes again, fearing they'd actually get stuck one day. She downed the rest of her wine and placed the glass on the table. "ughh now i'm going to have to change my number again. .I love this one as well, it's so easy to remember" She grumbled, pouting slightly.
Zoe snorted and looked at her with a playful smirk "if I was going to murder you, an axe wouldn't be my weapon of choice." she stated. She smiled at the brunette's response to the ice cream, it was a blessing and a curse that they both shared a love for cookie dough ice cream. good because, one of them always had one in the freezer but annoying because it meant they finished it twice as quickly. she took the wine glass and and took a bigger mouthful than she probably should have but it was well and truly needed. "of course." she said, clinking her own glass to Adalia's. "Me and wine have a very special relationship. .might as well be my other half." she joked before taking another sip. She made her way into the living room and plopped herself down on the couch, slipping off her shoes and curling her legs around her. After living with the girl in university, it was like second nature to Zoe to feel right at home in Adalia's flat. She chewed her lip lightly turned so she was facing the other girl. "Connor called today. ."
zoe walked out of her flat, locking the door behind her before heading on the short walk to adalia's building. they were having a much needed girly night in and she couldn't wait. pizza and wine. what more did a girl need. she was desperate for a night of relaxing, she'd been working at the club every night this week besides doing shoots in the day and she was overdue a break. thankfully her flat was only round the corner from her besties house which was perfect because it meant she didn't have to get a taxi home after a drink. if anyone saw her walking at the moment they'd probably think she'd just rolled out of bed, seeing as she was dressed in sweatpants, a tank top, shirt and sliders.
Reaching the apartment, she pressed the buzzer and entered the building when the door clicked open. she made her way into adalia's flat, closing the door behind her with a grin. "I could have been an axe murderer or anything for all you know" she said, bringing attention to the fact her friend had just buzzed her up without asking who it was. she stepped into the kitchen and gave the other girl a hug before putting the cookie dough ice cream she'd brought with her into the freezer. pizza and wine was great but pizza, wine and ice cream was a match made in heave. smiling, she turned to the wine glasses. "ugh wine. .how i love thee."

Zoe grew up as a only child with two lovely parents in Chelsea. She got into photography at a young age and was always taking pictures whenever she could, entering and winning competitions throughout high school. When she left school at sixteen, she went to college to do a photography course in the college nearby, her parents not wanting her to leave home just yet. After finishing the course, she got into a university in london, progressing onto a degree in photography. She started dating a guy from the university that her parents didn't approve of. He was a little rough around the edges, bad boy type. Her parents told her to stop dating him but she wouldn't. The more they told her to, the closer she got to him. Tired of her parents trying to end their relationship, she moved out into her boyfriends apartment. At first things were great, they spent more time together and fell for each other more but after six months of living with each other, they started to argue, just about little things at first. Then the arguments got bigger, louder, more frequent, always about where the other was going or what they were doing. They'd always had a volatile relationship, they were both easily jealous but he started to become paranoid. He was always on her case, he would text her a million times asking where she was and if she didn't reply with proof, he'd punish her by staying out all night or send her screenshots of conversations he was having with other girls which just pissed her off but that was what he wanted. He started trying to control her, he wouldn't let her go many places on her own and would always find some reason for him to go with her.
One night she went to a party without him. When she got home, she was met by a round of punches. That was the first time he had raised a hand to her. Like the stubborn cow she was, she tried to fight back. It was a vicious circle, whenever he hit her, she retaliated, always ending up worse of than him but she wasn't going to let him win. She was young, stupid and thought she was in love with him, so she stayed. Their toxic relationship eventually ended when zoe was nineteen. She was about six weeks pregnant when her and her boyfriend were having another one of their arguments. As usual things got physical. He threw her down the stairs, unaware of her pregnancy but she wouldn't have put it past him to do it even if he knew. Some serious cramping and a trip to the hospital told her she'd lost the baby and gained a few broken ribs as well as a knock to the head. she moved back home for a few weeks before she grew tired of her parents 'I told you so's', she left home again, moving in with a friend from university. While at university, zoe experimented with her sexuality. She had flings with both guys and girls, ultimately deciding that girls where easier to get along with and were less possessive than guys. Once university was finished, not wanting to go back home, she moved to Hickstead to start fresh.
