She gave a small laugh as he grinned at her in response - he had such a cheeky smile it was impossible to be mad at him. Or at least, she couldn't stay mad at him when he grinned like that. She watched the woman selecting their chosen treats and bagging them in those white paper bags that always made you lose half of your icing. It caught her by surprise when he pecked her cheek but she smiled, easily pleased by such a small, sweet gesture.
Jake took the package once it was all ready to go. "Shall we go back to the flat or take a walk and find somewhere nice to eat?" She didn't even need to think about it. "Let's take a walk," She took a lungful of the fresh mid morning air, "It's a beautiful day," She knew they'd wind up back at the flat at some point, unable to help themselves - she swore she'd never been into a guy as much as she was Jack, it was mad - but she wanted to try and soak up some rays and pretend they could be normal. She sighed and chewed the inside of her cheek before she said it, not wanting to ruin the moment. "I hate this Jack, not getting to be normal with you." She glanced up at him. "I don't want to keep looking over our shoulders." She hesitated, "I think I should tell the uni... or quit." She didn't want to quit, she wanted to be a teacher, but.. she loved Jack more, and she wanted a normal life.
She grinned back at him, a cheeky glint to her eyes, she couldn't help but want all of it - even worse that she was hungry - she wondered what would happen to her once the cravings hit. That was a terrifying thought and she wasn't sure she was ready to face it, but she knew that some people wanted weird things when they were pregnant. She stepped up beside him as he ordered, letting him take point and wondering what'd he'd chosen. "Two coffees, two pain au chocolat, one iced danish and a round of toast please." She grinned, good choice, and went to get her phone out to pay but he beat her to it. "Jack, you should have let me," She protested, it was sweet of him, but she was the one with the full paying job, she didn't want him to think he needed to splash cash; it wasn't much, sure, but it would add up eventually. God knew what would happen when the baby arrived. "But thank you," her smile softened as she looked up at him.
”well there’s always later. .” She laughed and gave his sleeve a gentle tug, but she knew they would probably be falling into bed together again this evening; she just couldn't get enough of him, and she tried not to think about it too hard. She peered up at the blue skies and smiled softly as the warmth of the sun touched her face, reveling in the heat. She couldn't wait until Summer - it had been too long since long summer days. She linked her fingers through Jack's and ducked her chin slightly as he kissed her hand, enjoying the simplicity of dating - Jack could be surprisingly sweet when he wanted to be.
She entered the bakery before him, hit with the scent of freshly baked goods, she licked her lips. Damn she was hungry, her eyes were drawn to the lit up glass counter, displaying the many tasty options. ”it all looks amazing. .what do you fancy?” She shook her head in wonder, still deliberating between about five different options. "All of it?" She joked but then pointed towards one of the pastries, "Pain au chocolat?" She asked, they looked glorious, and she could already taste the melted chocoalte.
”well we did work up an appetite last night. .” Heat curled in Jade's stomach as he reminded her of their evening, and her expression darkened slightly. "Shame we don't have time this morning," She wasn't exactly old but in comparison to the older guys she'd dated, Jack had a hell of a load more energy and stamina - it was partly him but she was pretty sure his age came into play a fair bit too. She felt him pull her back when she kissed him, melting against him for a moment as she put her feelings into the kiss. Damn it that they had to leave right then.
”okay now I’m ready.” She felt flushed as she pulled back and stepped out of their bubble into the real world, locking the door behind them. "I don't think I am." She teased, slipping her hand into his as they headed to the elevator and down to the ground floor. It was risky every time they stepped out the flat, and she knew she was playing with her life just by holding his hand, but she didn't want to walk down the street like a stranger. It was unlikely they'd run into someone but not impossible, she felt like she couldn't relax, but being with Jack would lull her into that false sense of security.
She caught Jack's grin and tried to ignore the swooping in her stomach, and failed. She'd never felt this before, this all consuming, confusing mix of heat and sweetness - passion and affection. She'd never had so much fire with someone, Jack was flirty and charming and sexy and she couldn't get enough of him... but he was also sweet and caring and he looked after her, and it caught her by surprise, and she knew this sweet feeling was something way beyond sexual attraction; it was terrifying. She finishing getting dressed and applied a little make-up; not much as they were just heading out for breakfast, but she wanted to make some kind of effort, this felt a little like some kind of breakfast date.
"I know. .I mean we could deliver from somewhere else but hazel's croissants are just" She laughed at his gesture and nodded, he was right - Hazel's was made fresh every day and by a local, there was something she put in the baking that just made it that much better than mass produced. "shall we walk? doesn't seem that cold out" Jade nodded, glancing out the window to check the weather before she agreed. "Sure," She grabbed a coat from the hook on the back of her door and pulled it on. "Ready to go? I'm starving!" She grinned, rising onto her tip toes to kiss his nose. She knew they would need to be careful once they left the safety and privacy of her flat, which sucked - time to soak up all the affection now whilst she could.
She yawned and reluctantly let him go as he slipped out from beneath the covers, stretching out across the entirety of the bed once he'd vacated it. She heard the shower running and contemplated going in to join him - it would save water and time if they showered together, but she knew they would end up doing more than showering and then that would not be saving time. Still tempting... but her stomach growled loudly and she sighed - food first. Sitting up, she pushed her long hair back from her face and glanced at the wardrobe, wondering if she should forgoe the shower - but she felt a little sticky from cuddling with Jack whilst she slept and it would help her feel refreshed, she knew that.
"bathrooms free." Well she figured she may as well use it. Getting out of bed, she scurried past him, unable to stop herself appreciating his half naked-ness - it was right there. She pressed her lips together and paused so she could skate her fingers along his abs - damn it - but then she forced herself to keep walking and hopped in the shower. She didn't take long either - just enough to wash her hair, brushing it in the shower and leaving it down to dry, she wrapped her towel around herself and stepped back into the room, grabbing some clothes from her wardrobe; a warm jumper and a pair of jeans. "I wish they delivered."
She felt him smile against her lips, and she couldn't help but respond with one of her own, snuggling into his warmth and trying to forget the world outside of the pile of blankets and pillows. "morning beautiful. . like a baby, you?" She stretched a little, enjoying the way her muscles pulled then loosened, sinking into the soft mattress. "Mmm slept like the dead," She agreed, feeling somewhat refreshed for the good nights sleep. She wasn't sure if he had to work or get to class this morning or if they had free time, but she assumed they had at least a few hours when he suggested, "Fancy breakfast from Hazel's?" Jade laughed when his stomach rumbled, and she nodded, reluctantly releasing him from her hold. "Definitely breakfast," She agreed, going to sit up and stretch properly.
She felt him stir beneath her arm, and she hid a smile against his back, tucking her chin down to cuddle into him. It was nice being big spoon once in a while, and she wasn't ready to get him yet. She felt his hand rest onto of hers and relaxed further, sinking into her pillows. She wasn't working until this afternoon, where she'd be sitting in on a professors class to make notes. This morning was free, and she intended to make the most of it. She didn't sleep in very often anymore, but it didn't mean she had to leave her bedroom. Pastries for breakfast sounded good though, if only they did home deliveries - she didn't want to get dressed and go out into the cold just yet.
Jade felt the change in Jack as he woke up properly, rolling over to face her. She moved her arm so that he could move, and then cuddled into him again, not wanting to face the cold outside the duvet. "morning. ." She smiled softly and kissed him gently, way past caring about morning breath these days. "Good morning, sleep well?"
What was she doing? This was the most stupid thing she'd ever done. She was jeopardising everything, her entire life, for this. Was it even worth it? She didn't want to think too hard on that question, because the answer should be no. It was just sex, it shouldn't be worth anything. Whether it was good or not (obviously the former), did not matter, it didn't factor into the equation. She could find that elsewhere, but the horrifying part was she didn't want to examine that question, because she couldn't honestly say no. And that was a problem. A huge one. Okay, on the one hand, he was only a couple years her junior, he was in university, and she was only in her training years of teaching. She wasn't his teacher, it was a fluke she'd taught him in the first place and it shouldn't happen again - but it could.
Technicalities. If she was caught she'd at least be fired, probably lose out on any possibility of finishing her degree and becoming a fully fledged professor. She was jeoparadising everything. And yet... She looked down at the innocent boyish face of the young man in her bed and sighed quietly. He looked so sweet when he slept - probably because his big mouth was shut and he couldn't talk his way into trouble. She carefully lay back against the pillows, her soft smile falling as she tucked an arm over him for comfort. She was screwed really, either way. Damn Jackson.

two sides of an apple, on the one hand she can be quite sweet, likes a romance, likes to feel needed and cared for, hides behind a sarcastic nature, people often make the mistake of thinking she's not bright - lets people play on that, enjoys being girlie, doesn't take crap from anybody, doesn't care about peoples opinions - they can say what they like but it bounces right off, not nasty or bitchy, reasonably open minded, knows what she wants out of life, loyal friend, trustworthy, a good laugh, adventurous, fun to be around, don't annoy her too much or she'll stop giving you the time of day, has some insecurities - wants to be looked after and to be able to rely on someone, because of her past she's a bit defensive, nice person but don't be played by the breeze-past-you first impression.

they used to be quite a happy family, living in the middle of london as children wasn't easy but they went to the park often and went to a nice school and all. their parents adored josh and jade, who happened to be twins, josh being two minutes younger than his sister which jade never let him forget. however their parents just weren't happy with their lives - their jobs really. they didn't want to be stuck inside at desks their whole lives, and yet with two young children at the age of four they couldn't travel half way around the world. at first they tried, they took their two children travelling around england and a few other places with them to begin with, but it wasn't fair on them, and their education soon came to lack in places, and so when the twins turned eleven their parents decided it was time to drop them off at their aunt and uncle's whilst they went off to explore the world.
they sent regular cards and letters and presents and called a lot. at first they came home practically every week but soon it became every two weeks, then every three until sometimes they were gone for months at a time. the two children never felt a connection to their aunt and uncle, both were quite strict and old-fashioned christians who just didn't care enough about the two, and so life at home was often tense. josh and jade stuck together throughout it, but as they grew older josh began to resent their parents lack of interest in them both. whenever they rang there was a tension that never used to be there, they were drifting from their parents - they were strangers with their own flesh and blood. even their aunt became more a mother than their own mum, and their uncle more their father despite their strict-ness they still became kinder and more loving toward the two twins.
the last time they spoke to their parents they were both seventeen. they'd received a call from them that they were going to be going to japan for a few months, that they'd call a few days later. the problem was that a few days passed and there was nothing - at first that was normal, they'd gotten out of practice of sticking to deadlines anyway, but when a few weeks and then months passed..and suddenly it was a year the kids knew something was up. it was then discovered that something had happened to their plane, and as their bodies hadn't been found they were told they were classified as missing. several others on the plane had turned up alive hence why the authorities were holding out hope, but as soon as they found out josh declared their parents were dead and that was that. jade still holds out hope but it's been four years now, and there's been no sign.
after college, she decided she wanted to become a teacher - having a particular love of physics and psychology, and so she went to university in london for a year before obtaining a placement - preferring to learn on the job instead of sit in a classroom and watch someone lecture at her. she's actually quite the little genius, finishing her schools with the top grades. she could have gone anywhere and done anything, but she wanted a modest place to work, and a modest job. she chose the hickstead university because in all honesty, living in london wasn't her thing, especially after an incident that happened to her when she was nineteen. she'd been walking home late from her friend's one evening, and she'd headed down a road she walked all the time that wasn't quite one of the mains. someone followed her, and then that someone suddenly had a friend and before she knew it she was cornered. they mugged her, luckily the worst they did was take her stuff and knock her around a little, one of them had had a knife but when she'd given her bag up voluntarily they hadn't stabbed her, and she'd gotten off with a few cuts and bruises, but after that london scared her and moving away made her feel better whilst josh split and went up north to study instead.
