lennon was born and raised in bakewell to parents who were clearly in love. Her mother had met her father at the age of 21 whilst on holiday for the summer in Turkey and they'd hit it off straight away. A summer romance turned into a full on relationship when her dad gave up his life in Turkey to be with her mother in england. Two years after she was born, her brother came along and they had a good childhood. Up until they both went to school, their mother was a stay at home mum before getting a part time job as a receptionist. They were a typical working class family but she loved it.
She met the man she was going to marry when she was 9yrs old. She'd been at the park playing football with her brother when a boy came over with his friends. He'd tackled the ball from them to look cool in front of his mates, which had been a big mistake. She'd stormed over and clocked him straight in the eye. She'd been taught to stand up for herself. The boy - clearly stunned, had apologised and she invited them all to play football. Turned out he was in the same year as her at school, just different classes. From that moment on, they became inseparable and began dating at fourteen. She fell head over heels with him and didn't even glance in anybody else's direction. When Adam enrolled into the navy at eighteen, he proposed and she quickly accepted, wanting to be his wife before he left.
Adjusting to life without Adam was hard at first, after being in each others pockets for over seven years, it was like a part of her was missing without him. She'd become co-dependant on him and it was time to re-connect with herself. Lennon scraped together as much of her savings as she could and went backpacking for six months through europe and southeast asia, where she fell in love with yoga and pilates. While in thailand, she trained to be a yoga/pilates instructor, having found the career she wanted to pursue at home. At twenty-one she fell pregnant with her son which put her career on hold and while adam was away with the navy, she was essentially a young single mother. Not wanting to admit see she was struggling, she refused to ask anyone for help, ultimately going through a phase of post-partum depression. She eventually got help after an accident with emmerson scared the life out of her. She'd been struggling with sleep deprivation and had bathing the six month old when she closed her eyes briefly - but that's all it took. When she opened her eyes, Emmerson had slipped under the water - only for a few seconds. From that moment, she called her mother and got the help she needed.
She grew to love being a mother over the next few years, getting used to it being the two of them as Adam's leave became more sporadic when he began going on deployments all over the world, not just the UK. She fell pregnant again after one of her husbands short visits, leaving her slightly panicked at the prospect of screwing up again. This pregnancy felt different though, she was older, understood her emotions more and most importantly, let people in and asked for help. She gave birth to her daughter at 25 and was able to enjoy being the mother of a newborn this time around. Once caeylen was old enough to go to nursery, she took some time to focus back on her career whilst raising two children under the age of five. She loved being a mum to her kids but she needed something for herself too.
Time passed and she found herself growing more distant from her husband. As her kids got older and were able to talk, whenever adam would call, she would put him on the phone for them. They missed him and she knew it was killing him to be away from his kids. Their conversations became less frequent and mostly revolved around emmerson & caeylen. When Adam was home on leave, he spent his time showering the kids with love and always had some activity planned with them. How could she be mad at him for that? She loved that he made up for his absence by spending all of his time with the kids, they needed it. But at the same time, she was hurting. She'd faded into the background long before the kids had came along.
It took everything in her to pull Adam aside one day to give him divorce papers - she was leaving him. It wasn't a decision she'd made lightly. She was still in love with the man but she wasn't happy and it was time to move on with her life. she couldn't keep living in the past, expecting the boy she fell in love with to walk back through the door. Wanting a fresh start, she moved down south to willow bridge city. She'd been to visit her sister and brother in law a few times in Hickstead and had always liked the look of the city. Bakewell had been a cute town but she wanted something more lively, somewhere her pilates gym could take off and where her children could have plenty of opportunities while growing up. Six months later she heard Adam had finally resigned from the navy, something which made her heart hurt. Too little to late. However she was happy when he moved nearby, wanting to share custody of the kids so he'd be able to spend more time with them.
