She loves meeting new people and chatting, especially at the tack store.
Though Vi has a feminine face, she can be a force of nature if her buttons are pushed right. Her lithe and strong frame does well in a fight or handling cattle. If anything was to become physical, Vi would rather have an arm wrestle than a fist.
the history
father • Richard Olson, 48, former Air Force LT. - works at the AirPort mother • Lydia Olson, 47, rancher siblings • none important people • the family's three cattle dogs, Huey, Luey and Duey hometown • Luke Air Force Base, AZ overall history • Violet is the daughter of an Assiniboine woman and a Caucasian air force lieutenant. Her parents, Lydia and Richard met in New Mexico when Richard was two years in the service. Liking the idea of a chance to get out of her small town, Lydia followed Richard. It was a true love story, of two young people following their dreams.
Vi was born in Arizona on Luke Air Force Base. She grew up in an interesting world of being an air force kid but also ranching. Her mother was raised on ranching and horse riding, passing her knowledge to her daughter. While Richard was on base, Lydia took Violet on her job helping the local ranches that were close to wherever they traveled.
Even though Violet was never in a place for more than two years, she enjoyed traveling. While making friends was difficult, and the constant moving a bit tiring – there was plenty of adventure and she kept busy.
When she hit her teens, the Olson's landed in Dublin. While beautiful, Violet couldn’t get that much of the ranch itch she wanted. She did, however, pick up a bit of sheep herding – which kept her occupied. The family managed to stay in Ireland for six years before Richard was honorably discharged after 30 years of service.
Lydia and Richard settled on a place called Hickstead. Violet took to the town like a fly to honey. Horses and cattle herding were abundant, and it finally felt like home after nineteen years of travel. Violet found a job at the local tack store and is assisting at Diesel ranch with their herd.
Even after a year, she finds it a bit difficult to settle down. All the years of relocating have made her feel like she must uproot again, even though she knows Hickstead will be her final station. At least, for now.
