Georgia felt the sun, well…as much as the English sky allowed, on her face. It made her shrivel a bit but she adjusted her hat and put on her sunglasses. Her guardians picked her up from the airport and the two exchanged friendly chit-chat. Thankfully, the drive to the place where Georgie would be staying – it wasn’t far. She didn’t know if her sister would judge her for not living on campus, but it was agreed upon that it would be safer for her to be in a place that wouldn’t hinder her health.
When the car stopped, Georgia felt herself feeling nervous. It was all new. A new house, a new life, and she didn’t know how she was going to handle it. The last time she moved, it was a horrible experience. But she was older now, and it was a fresh new start.
After having her luggage carried inside, Georgia texted Wynter that she was at the house and would happily enjoy a familiar face. Even if they hadn’t seen each other since Wynter was last home, and their relationship not the best – a feeling of familiarity would always be welcomed.
Wynter Moriarty still remembered when her little sister told her that she was joining her at Hickstead University and she had to feign some excitement. But behind her Georgie's back, Wynnie had asked her parents if it had been a good idea to send the seventeen year old across the pond to the United Kingdom. They swore to her that she was a changed girl, and between Wynnie and these family friends of her theirs, Georgie would be just fine. But the young woman had her own reservations, mainly because of her own chaos that she had sowed at the University - would her sister be walking in with a big fat bullseye on her forehead?
Her lips twisted at the thought as she walked down the street - having had the cab drop her off at the hill mainly so she could stew in her thoughts, "What a fucking horrible sister I am," she muttered to herself, knowing that a normal sister would have been thrilled at the idea of their kid sister joining them for another adventure. She supposed she could frame this like the move from California to Virginia, one that Wynnie had enjoyed. But her mood soured at the remembrance that her sister's enjoyment at first had all been an act. Well, if there was one thing a Moriarty was good at, it was proving people around.
She marched up to the house now, its familiar cottage core vibe like the rest of the old english neighborhood. She had visited enough to just promptly shove the door open to let herself in, not bothering to announce herself. Not like crime really happened in the area. Hazel eyes looked over the foyer and entry way for a moment, as she heard weight shifting on the floorboards above her. Ah, so that's where the guest bedroom was. Hurrying up stairs, Wynnie found herself what she assumed would be her sister's new safe haven, and sure enough, her sister as well, "GEORGIE!" And without a second though, invaded the young woman's personal space and greeted her in a hug.
