ADALIA LAUREN HERONDALE has come forward as a witness after believing she saw someone skulking around the back of the barn late at night the week of the fire. She claims they were scared off when she gave a shout, whether she saw anything of use, who knows.
Kendra was informed that it was her turn to interrogate a suspect. It seemed like sometime had passed after the barn fire, but the investigation itself was still going on.
She let out a sigh, hoping she got stuck with someone who didn't act like they were a brick wall during the questioning. The blonde twisted the length of her hair before putting it up in a clip - it was something she often did when she was called into doing a questioning.
The officer opened the door to the questioning room, closing the door behind her while holding a clipboard with questions and a pen. She was old school in the fact that she didn't use a laptop in a situation like this. Computers had problems and she wanted to see the initial facial expression of the suspect while they answered - she was good at telling if the person was lying or not.
"Adalia Herondale? I do appreciate you coming in. Did you happen to be at the barn before the fire happened?" She pulled out her own chair and sat down before quietly bringing her chair close to the table. The officer set her clipboard on the hard surface in front of her before writing down the name and the date of the interrogation.
Though Adalia had come forward herself of her own accord, and hadn't ever been in a situation where she was in trouble to the extent of police intervention, it still felt uncomfortable being in the station. She shifted in her seat as she waited, one leg crossed over the other, and then changing legs and folding her arms. It was a little cold, and she hadn't brought a thick enough jumper - she disliked how long she'd had to wait given that she'd been told it wouldn't be long, and her eyes darted to the clock. How suspects could come into these rooms and not give away the game she didn't know.
"Adalia Herondale? I do appreciate you coming in. Did you happen to be at the barn before the fire happened?"She relaxed a little at the sight of the officer - unable to help but feel more at ease that she was female. She nodded, a little too quickly but the anxiety hadn't yet gone completely. "No problem, I felt it only right to come forward with what I saw - even if it doesn't really help," She bit her lip, knowing that probably sounded stupid, but she was still in shock that someone could do what they did, and angry that they thought they could get away with it. "I was there before the fire started but not by the barn, so I didn't see anything then - but a couple of nights before that, I did catch someone out the back who looked like they were doing something odd, and then when I shouted to them, they ran off. It seems liket oo much of a coincidence..." She had wondered since then if she'd stopped them lighting the fire that night - only for it to be lit the next night anyway.
