Nic stretched as he walked into Starbucks, inhaling the scent of perfectly brewed coffee. The was the way he judged coffee places, was the smell of the beans that filled the air, as if you knew what to smell, you could easily tell the difference between beans that were roasted to perfection and the the ones that were burned.
With an easy smile, he approached the counter and ordered a caffè Americano with a cinnamon swirl on the side. Taking his tray, he looked around, spotted an empty table over by the wall and walked over. Placing the tray on the table, he set his bag on the floor between the chair and the wall and sat down. Opening the bag, he took his tablet from the bag and set it on the table, as he would use the small break he had taken for himself as a chance to look over his emails and see if anything needed his attention more than others. Breaking a bit off the pastry, he dipped it into his drink before popping it into his mouth, enjoying the mixture of flavours.
