Damn, why did Sabrina’s summer clinical land her at the place of her nemesis, also known as the most beautiful human being in the world? But she had to do what she needed to do. And that was to bare witness to a plethora of health checkups on a flock of multicolored clouds. Breeding time was coming upon the farmlands, and there was nothing better than going and going through vitals.
Clover Lane was a short ATV ride away, making Sabrina not feel super rushed. Though, it didn’t prevent her from making sure her locs were still in place before she made her way to the group of other vet students. Her eyes landed on Jameson, his perfect jawline offsetting his somewhat shagged hair. Damnit.
“Jameson,” she greeted. “Shall we see who’s able to hold a sheep down the longest?” It would be him, obviously. As he worked here. Horse and sheep strength was different after all.
Jameson 'Jamie' Hughs could not believe his luck when the clinical classes were sent out and he saw Clover Lane Farm as one of the places that class would be held. Truth be told, he had been counting down the days, mainly because it was his place of work which meant that he already had the ins and outs of the farm down, as well as dealing with sheep thanks to Kim Ryan. Yes, yes, it felt a little bit like cheating, and Jamie tended to prefer to be on even footing as everyone else, but after a heck of a summer busy with work and horse shows, not to mention his dad showing back up in Hickstead for good, the young man was thrilled to have a moment in his life where his brain could be turned off.
He was milling about with the rest of his classmates, when it suddenly occurred to him, that a certain someone was missing. Try as he might, it was hard to keep his blue eyes from looking around curiously. It became a little too obvious when Bonnie Atwater decided to ask: "Are you looking for someone in particular, Jamie?" For some reason, Jamie didn't like it when Bonnie Atwater used his preferred name - it sounded weird to him, especially when she'd bat those green eyes at him like she was after something, "What? No, I wasn't-" but the sound of an ATV roaring onto premise cut into his words, carrying the very person he told himself that he hadn't been looking for.
His gaze carried over to the ATV now, its owner parking it and cutting the engine, her curvy body still leaning over it as she pulled the keys and sat up to pull the helmet off. The scene played like slow motion, with the sunshine hitting Sabrina Kita-Ledor just right. Jamie stared, and for a moment, felt immature with this thoughts. This was his rival after all, both in class and out in the show arena, and yet, it was hard to deny just how extraordinarily beautiful she was even in shot cut overalls and wellington boots. His gaze must have lingered too long, for besides him, Bonnie Atwater let out a huffy sigh: "Earth to Jamie!" That got to him, he looked to her now and offered an apologetic smile, "Sorry Bonnie. I wanted," and he made sure to raise his voice, "To make sure Sabrina was here to witness me surpass her clinical scores."
And just like that, he pulled out his grin, the grin, as he looked over to Sabrina now, who was greeting him coolly as ever. Jamie knew he had to try and be cool too, because it would only last so long before he managed to stumble over his words and himself, "You know you can call me Jamie," he greeted, already forgetting all about Bonnie Atwater next to him, "And are you sure you want to make that bet, Brina? The odds are not in your favor." And she likely knew that too, maybe she was puffing up his ego, it might be working, "These sheep won't get the best of me unlike Moo and the water hose."

Sabrina clocked the look that Bonnie gave her and Jamie. It was cute, seeing the jealousy across her face. But she ignored the lasers that were surely burning into her neck. “Is that so? What is your wager then? A kiss?” Obviously, that was a joke, right? Yeah, exactly.
But the conversation wasn’t allowed to go past what was offered. Their teacher called everyone’s attention, and a tall – burly man was standing next to them. A thick head of hair, already sweaty biceps. “Damn, Jamie – didn’t know you had such a hot boss.” Sabrina wasn’t going to deny that Kim was a very attractive man. Gay or not, most people could appreciate a good-looking person. She also already knew what he looked like, but liked the teasing tone.
“Welcome to Clover Lane Farm!” Kim smiled. “I’m very happy to host a clinical here since I know a good chunk of you will be handling farm animals. Sheep are their own finicky creatures, but you’ll be learning how to hold them properly – as you give shots and wellness exams.”
“Please split up into teams of two,” the teacher instructed.
If there had been evil eyes in their general direction, Jamie hardly noticed, he was a little too distracted now to take to the whim of Bonnie Atwood. Blue eyes watched as Sabrina Ledor-Kita approached now, curves and all, ready to take him on. The young man hardly minded, feeling at the top of his game given that they were at Clover Lane instead of Helping Hooves: "Is that so? What is your wager then? A kiss?” Okay, well, now he wasn't feeling too cocky all of the sudden, "A what?" And just like that Jamie felt his brain and wits failing him, "A kiss?" He could feel a burning sensation on the back of his neck now, the weird feeling of bees in his stomach instead of butterflies.
Before he could make a further idiot of himself though, a loud booming voice cut through. A voice he knew from anywhere: "Damn, Jamie – didn’t know you had such a hot boss.” That took him for a loop, "Hmmm?" The young man straightened a little bit, almost feeling like Kim Ryan was suddenly his competion as he glanced over at the much older man, studying him. That square jaw, cleanly shave, sweaty with muscles, "Yeah...I guess." Gosh, he was floundering now. Was it possible to run off to behind the house and bury himself a grave to lie down in? Surely Kim and Holland wouldn't mind. His body and ego would be great fertilizer.
His brain didn't register any words that escaped Kim's mouth, Jamie just found himself staring at the older man and wondered what Kim might have in his forties that he suddenly seemed to be lacking at eighteen. Before spiraling out of control though, the teacher's voice broke through on partnering up, and Jamie made it quick to stake his claim, "What say you, Brina? Want to be partners?" He was back to all boyish smiles now, before teasing, "I can hold and you administer? Make it easy for you."

She didn’t know if it was the laser eyes to the side of her head or the sneers – but Sabrina was quick to accept his offer. “Alright, Jamie. But our wager still stands.” She had a feeling that he may have forgotten or just not comprehended. Either way, someone was getting a kiss – and that made her knees buckle at the thought. She was quite brazen for someone who feared rejection.
Sabrina, feeling oddly brave today, hooked her arm around his and began walking toward the barn – after the instructor told them to head there. Once everyone was together, Kim appeared again. The older man smiled. “Alrighty folks. A few things to know before we get started. I have already separated a few sheep, so you aren’t tasked with catching them individually. But I would like to demonstrate how to approach and brace a sheep. Then, with either me or your instructor watching, we will have you all get some practice in.” A few yes sirs were let out before Kim went through the sequence.
She watched, forgetting their arms were still linked. Sabrina was often a sponge during a demonstration, often zoning out. Thankfully, it had never landed her getting hurt. But she was curious to see how hard these sheep would be to handle. They weren’t the largest animals, but they were easily startled and were sure-footed.
“Jamie, Sabrina – I’m happy to see you both here!” Kim’s voice broke Sabrina out of her thoughts, making her realize her arm was still in Jamie’s. She quickly dropped it.
“Ah, hello – Mr. Kim!” Sabrina greeted. The older man tilted his head but seemed to look at Jamie.
“Jamie, would you like to go first – practicing your hold?”
Jamie wasn't sure where this wager was coming from: a kiss? That seemed so bold for Sabrina Ledor-Kita, but then again, it was a wager that the young man couldn't deny that he very much wanted to place a bet on. There was no need to counter it even. Jamie finally found his voice once more though, "You're on, Ledor-Kita." If she wanted to be brazen, then he would follow suit. He could only hope that it wouldn't cause him a distraction and then he'd go and embarrass himself not only in front of the class, but also his boss.
He turned to head after Kim Ryan now, ready to take on the day to get his kiss when he felt an unexpected presence by his side once more. Blue eyes glanced to see Sabrina by his side in stride, and then, she linked her arm around his, and took ahold. It was a miracle that Jamie hadn't stumbled like an idiot as he could feel some glances from their classmates now. Apparently they were just as curious as the young man as to what was going on. It certainly gave his mind a whirlwind as they followed after Kim and the rest of their classmates now.
Somehow, they ended up in front of a very familiar barn and a very familiar herd - victims who likely knew what was coming. Kim was talking, but Jamie couldn't hear words. His blue eyes just kept on staring at the dainty hand and arm wrapped around his own, questioning it. Sabrina, to her credit, looked completely unpassed as Kim spoke, no doubt soaking up everything like a sponge. Was she doing this on purpose? Distracting him from class? She was second ranked after all. God, she really was beautiful when she was concentrating. And then, Kim interrupted everything.
Jamie's head jerked to attention, and Sabrina's arm quickly dropped from his, yet it still felt like there was a phantom presence there, "What?" God, he sounded so stupid in his own 'home' per say. Kim was staring at him like an idiot, and Jamie didn't know what to do other than stare back. People were giggling or laughing, and the young man could feel his face and the back of his neck burn. A ewe was staring at him, and finally, he realized what he had missed, "Right. Hold her." Like Sabrina, his mind cockily nagged. But Jameson shoved that away, walking over and seperating an ewe out from the rest.
The ewe was distressed and angry already, Jamie couldn't blame her though. Still, he caught her, and firmly but gently held her. His biceps and triceps flexed, pushing against the fabric of his henly now. What once was loose around his arms suddenly felt tight as he tipped the ewe back towards his legs now, "Easy girl," the teenager murmured, resting her between her legs now, straddling her a little bit between. The ewe had all four feet out about her now, resting on her nail and bum as her back fell securely between Jamie's legs. What once felt like a struggle soon felt like a relaxation as the ewe flopped her head back into his thigh, staring out at the world, unaware that some girls would likely die to be in that sheep's situation suddenly.
"I think she's ready," Jamie said now, finally relaxing as a smile fell on his face, his blue eyes looking to Kim before wandering to Sabrina, locking gazes with her.
