They were ecstatic to have their first child be a son, meaning he could take over the family farm when he was old enough. It wasn’t long before he knew he was different - having two dads wasn’t something common. His love of horses came from his parents, riding and competing as soon as he was able. When he started school, he was constantly bullied over the fact that his family was so different from everyone else’s. Ty had a feeling that everyone was jealous though as it seemed the bullies came from broken homes. He pushed past them and kept to himself during school times, rather wanting to focus his energy on riding rather than giving anyone at school the time of day. At twelve years old, he realized he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps - wanting to be a professional equestrian. His fathers supported his dream, breeding and training all the horses and ponies Ty had ever ridden. He spent his weekends competing, taking his homework with him and often ended up doing it in the car on the drive there and back. Ty knew that after High School, he was done with his mandatory schooling. Graduation couldn’t come soon enough as he already had an apprenticeship lined up with working with his family, jumping at the chance to get started. He helped both his fathers and they helped him in return, happy that their family farm was finally getting recognition. Ty competed and started coaching lessons on the side. About two years, John Ryan had seen him compete with his horse, Captain. Kai was coaching him in the local jumper derby class. Ty had won the class and after the victory gallop, John offered him a job as an assistant/groom at his barn. It took him about a week to decide, but he agreed - moving his three horses as well. He started really enjoying his job from the beginning, able to show the Ryan's and their clients what he was capable of. Not too long after he started, Ryan Sport held a clinic which was taught by John. Ty helped set up the jumps and watched everyone warm up - helping put jumps up and back together when needed. John asked him to step in to teach as something came up. Thankfully he was familiar with the course for the day. He watched and coached, giving constructive yet helpful to those participating. There was one student who stood out with her fancy horse. He picked up on something while watching her warm up her horse, which translated into the same problem come jumping time. Ty called her out on it while she was jumping the course, not realizing what he had done. There was some argument back and forth and Ty was almost to the point of giving up - though Harlow gave in. Just like he thought, it made her horse jump better. After the course was finished, Harlow stormed out - passing her sweaty horse to him. He promptly looked after the horse and thought he would never see her again. Little did he know, she'd show up the next day and specifically ask for him. He spent the day doing what she wanted and easily passed off the tasks he didn't want to do to another groom. At first, he found her exhausting - always arguing back and forth. It wasn't long though before he was interested in getting to know her better. A few weeks later, one of the riders began flirting with him - to which he was oblivious to. He just thought she was being nice after he had looked after her horse the day before. Ty quickly realized it was flirting after Harlow had made her day miserable - catching the other female rider crying on her way to the car after. That same day, Harlow asked him out on a date. The rest is history and they are still happily together. the role player alias • Gabi age • younger than Betty White (RIP) other characters • more than the German World Junior Team |
