He needed to apologize. Ever since he'd flown off the handle at Jasper, hitting the man - he'd not been on speaking terms with his older sister. It wasn't the fact that she was giving him the cold shoulder over the incident, but more so the fact that the longer he stewed and thought about it the more and more it became apparent he was the asshole. It was undeniable. He'd stuck his nose in his sister's business and without thinking, cut his nose off to spite himself.
So that was why he was sat on the top of the stairs, head in his hands, trying to mentally gear himself up to swallow his pride - what little remained - and to actually get down the stairs. He'd already spent forty minutes just trying to get his stomach to settle and stop his racing thoughts. Some how despite it all, the prospect of Kara firing off was slightly more frightening than going back to the army...
Slowly he peeled himself off the stairs, hugging the wall as he went down, breathing deep with every step. Then he went searching for her - he was fairly certain she was home somewhere, and not upstairs either, he'd been there a while and not heard a thing behind him. Didn't mean much, maybe was the master of stealth, he had no clue. All because he stopped talking to family, stopped trying to be apart of the day to day. Being an ass.
"Kara?" he called out, "Can... Can we talk?"
