Beth loved her job! She had been a little unsure when she had first applied for the job, as she would be teaching children that would be the same age as her daughter, but this was so much better than just sitting around at home, trying to fill in her time.
She fixed her ponytail after she set her laptop onto her desk at the front of the room, and then walked over to clear off the whiteboard so that the centre section was completely clear for the power point she would project onto it. Walking back to her desk she opened up the laptop and brought up what she wanted the students to do that day, and connected with the projector so that the image appeared on the whiteboard.
She smiled in greeting to each student as they walked into the not, not at all bothered if they didn't smile back or continued on the conversation they were already having with their friends.
"Good morning." She greeted after the bell had sounded to announce the start of class. "Can you please pass your homework from last night forward, and we'll get started." She collected the papers from the tables in the front row. "As you can see from the board, we're going to do a little creative writing to kick things off today." Her eyes moved around the room, taking in the reaction from the students, at least with only ten-words, that should keep the profanity to a minimum. "I'll give you fifteen minutes to complete the exercise." Which would give her time to go over what had been handed in.
The thing Angél liked the most about this school was that the classes were mixed ages. There were times it made it a challenge, as some of the tasks required a little more brain power than others, but she was never one to turn down a challenge, and she also had two adults at home that were more than happy to help when she asked for it, even if that was a last ditch resort.
She returned the teacher's smile as she walked into the classroom, and sat in her normal seat near the middle of the room. Close enough to the front that she wouldn't be accused of trying to hide, yet far enough away that she wouldn't be seen as trying to be a teacher's pet. As she took her English folder and pencil case from her bag, she looked at the board.
She passed forward her homework from the night before and listened as Ms Bones went through what they were starting with. It all sounded easy enough and she selected two pens from her case before she looked at the board again, finding the first two words she could and started writing
Ten-Word Challenge Words found: Misty and Night ...She walkedThe gnarled woods were stood silent on that cold misty night.
She bit her lip as she placed her pens down, reading over what she had written, nodding as she was pleased with it, even if it hadn't been as easy as she had expected. And, it had nothing to do with horses, or fairies!
