Danny reclined back into the park bench and watched the world walk on by him. He hadn't reached out to Molly yet, nor any of his family really, to inform them that he was back in the country. That he was home. He knew that he should've done that the moment he was on that plane heading home. He just wasn't quite ready to reach out and he wasn't sure what it was that was stopping him from making those calls. He wanted to see everyone and give his sister the biggest hug possible, and yet here was was, sitting and staring blankly at his surroundings with his phone within reach not making a move.
He'd been told coming back into a civil lifestyle could be jarring, but he hadn't expected it to hit him as much as it was. Maybe that was the reason why he wasn't all there, not quite ready to reach out and launch himself back into that constant connection with his family. It was frustrating, but at the same time, tiring. He was sure he would be able to shrug his way out of the slump he was in, or maybe someone would give him a little push to get him going again.
Leaning forward, he rested his elbows on his knees and held his head with a sigh. So many thoughts, so many wishes and there was no one wish that stood out enough to act upon. He just needed to get himself together, pull his brain back into the present and get over whatever it was that holding him back from acting on what needed to be acted upon.

Serenity walked between the trees at the park, enjoying the feeling of the changing seasons. There was still the firm grasp of winter everywhere, but there was the odd sign of spring all around the place too; the new leaves budding on the trees, the few that were already out in full blossom, and the birdsong had changed to match the coming season too.
She closed her eyes as she drew in a calming breath, allowing the healing energy from the trees to embrace her and help cleanse her of any tensions from work. She smiled as the wind picked up slightly, and she spread her arms as the breeze danced around her, the childish thoughts of wishing she could control the movements of the air like characters in books and movies could. Her smile slipped away though as the breeze brought with it the energy of people around her and there was something there that caught her attention.
Lowering her arms, she opened her eyes and stepped out of the safety of the trees, her eyes moving around the area in front of her. She had looked over the man sitting on the park bench before actually studying him, her brows dipping at the confusion that seemed to surround him like a grey cloud, wondering if it was as suffocating as it looked. As much as there was a voice telling her to mind her own business, the empath in her couldn't ignore it, and she walked over to him. "Is everything alright?"
How long was he going to sit here before he was actually present enough to get in the car and go back to his flat? How long had he already spent sat here? Probably too long.
"Is everything alright?"
Danny looked up at the voice, something alerting him to a memory long since buried under more recent memory caches. He studied the face, a young woman, pretty enough. He frowned, trying to find his voice to respond.
"Yeah, yeah," he nodded, rubbing his face and yawning, "Just lost inside my head. Which is nothing new anymore."
