She grew up in a household where her siblings and cousins on her father's side were always questioning her lineage and whether or not she was a true Ortega, making her hot headed and a rather aggressive. Despite this though, she managed to be raised into a true tactician who always makes quick and concrete plans before executing an action verses charging into a situation. If given the chance, Perdita is a proven leader among a group of people with no direction. She is considered an adventurer and power hungry, which was displayed when she took over the Ortega Clan after the death of her mother and Jorge Ortega. Perdita does not like to be questioned about anything, and often gets aggravated when she meets people as stubborn as her - making her a hypocrite - for she is allowed to be stubborn but other people are not. Life has made her hard and she is decidedly against making relationships outside of those of her new family connections in the Delgados and Grey Vaughn, considering such things a weakness to be exploited by her enemies. Perdita learned the hard way to not trust every one and despite her best efforts, she had not been successful in playing the Valencia's underground of Game of Thrones. She is an expert markswoman - earning her some dangerous nicknames in her home country of Spain, and dislikes heavy labor - which will may come to a shock now that she's living in Hickstead. the history father • James Aiden Vaughn, Fifty-Five, Unemployed - Birth Father; Jorge Carlos Ortega, Deceased - Adoptive Father mother • Melagra Alejandra Delgado, Deceased siblings • Grey Irah Vaughn , 31, Farrier at Blue Acres, Half Brother on Birth Father's Side Sarah Vaugh, Twenty-Nine, Unknown, Half Sister on Birth Father's Side Santiago Ortega, 32, Leader of the Ortega Family, Half Brother - via her mother and Jorge Ortega Nino Ortega, 30, Member of Ortega Underground, Half Brother - via her mother and Jorge Ortega important people • DANTE GABRIEL DELGADO - cousin ZAHIRA MIRAN DELGADO - cousin hometown • Valencia, Spain overall history • Perdita's story started before she was born, when her mother, Melagra of the Delgado Clan, foolishly fell in love with Aiden Vaughn in her travels despite the fact that she had been married off to the son of the prominent Ortega family to secure alliances. And while Jorge Ortega had been nice and charming, he hadn't been charismatic like Aiden Vaugh. Unfortunately for Melagra, she was the other woman. Their trist went on for a while until she became pregnant, and demanded Aiden leave his family and she would leave Jorge, and they would run off together. But Aiden denied her, and Melagra resigned herself to a broken heart and learn to love Jorge. She successfully managed to pass off her pregnancy as the result of her Ortega husband despite her fairer skin. Despite fooling Jorge though and Melagra had been good to hide any evidence, others of the Ortega Clan never quite accepted the lie. Perdita was the only child to have a hypenated name - the stress put on that she was both Ortega and Delgado. Extended family members questioned it, people closed to the Ortegas questioned it, and slowly, whispered ears in the young Ortega Brothers as well - for they were young enough to be manipulated behind their father's back. And while she was not the first born, she was third in line, the threat of her questionable lineage was there. The whispers behind her back often upset Perdita, for she was too young to understand family politics and her brothers teasing was ever so annoying. Despite this, she was her parents daughter through and through and they took pride in the young woman. They spoiled her, doted upon her, took her to the firing range, and at fifteen, started to include her into the family business. They harnessed her rage and anger into something deadly over the years - making her sharp, decisive, firm, and above all dangerous. Any whispers about her heritage became mute and people who questioned her it mysteriously vanished. Perdita did her best to balance the life of a normal girl and that of the daughter of one of the ruling families of the criminal underground, but it proved to be hard. Things took a turn for the worse when her parents - Jorge and Melagra died under mysterious circumstances in a terrible car accident. The hidden message there - it was no accident. Perdita wanted to get to the bottom of it, while her oldest brother - Santiago, just wanted to take over. So she did the unthinkable - she did the power play to snatch the ruling role from him and took over the family business through a fast moving plan of deceit, cunning, and use of her revolvers. She had the backing from her mother's side, and Perdita spared those - to include her brothers - who swore allegiance to her. Perdita did her best with handling the family, she tried to be like her father. Jorge ruled with love and an undertone of understanding that he should never be trifled with. Unfortunately for Perdita, marred by her questionable lineage, found that she could not afford that. If they would not love her, they would fear her and be beaten into loving her. So she did. At age twenty four, she was the sole ruler of the Ortega Clan and carried out their business. With the backing of the Delgados and her brothers - she was unstoppable along with her parents wills. Perdita had no qualms on how to run the family and how to deal with people. She still yearned for that love and acceptance though, and as people caught on to this, they played to that desire. They too - can play the long game. Seven years later, that game finally came to an end. Between mishandlings and ill-placed trust, Perdita's throne was rocked by the truth. Melagra Delgado had been good about covering her tracks - or so she thought, but being young and stupid and full of wistful romance without being caught can make a person stupid. Letters were somehow unearthed. Letters to Aiden Vaughn that were returned. Jorge himself had kept secret his own musings that Perdita was not his, but the alliance between the Orgetas and Delgados was too strong to cast issues on the subject and divorce. And so Perdita's brothers and their supporters soon betrayed their sister, cast her out and kill her like the false Ortega that she was. Although while you can cut off the wolf's head, it still had the power to bite back. Perdita managed to escape with her life, fleeing with those godforsaken letters and questioning her mother's stupidity. How could she love a man so much to still risk writing to him, demanding to be reunited and to be with his daughter? She had to leave Spain, the Delgados would not harbor her there, but two took sympathy: Manuel and Daniela Delgado. They had sent two of their children to England - her cousins Zahira and Dante Delgado. She was advised to find them and leave Spain behind for good. So against her wishes, Perdita left and found herself in England, but sadly not London, but some tiny community known as Hickstead. By doing further research though, Perdita discovered that England didn't just hold her cousins, but her half siblings on her birth father's side as well. While she was keen to exact her revenge, Perdita knew that reclaiming an empire is not something to be rushed. So instead, she will pass her time making new bonds with her cousins and perhaps a newly discovered half sibling or two. Perdita Fortuna Delgado-Ortega was dead.
