They doted on her like a little princess, and she was certain that her life would always remain that way - a 'London princess' so to speak. Unfortunately, being young, she missed out on the unhappy ques in her parents marriage. Both of her parents were power hungry and dominate, each one refusing to accepting to sacrifice their career and always schemed to try and make the other one the stay at home parent. As she got older, Gwyneth saw these cracks and began to realize that maybe her storybook life was not quite that. To distract herself from the fallout at her home, Gwyneth buried herself into friendships at school and a creative outlet at home with writing, doodling, and poetry. She became very good friends with Chloe Price, a little rugged, a smart ass outsider with a rebellious edge. They made quite the little pair throughout primary school, they even swore to each other that they were going to become animal saviors because what little girl was not obsessed with being a vet at the age of Eight? Chloe became her companion throughout everything, and was most helpful when the atomic bomb went off at her house - her mother caught cheating and had the audacity to bring that person home and her father walked in on it. Turned out, she had been doing it multiple times. Soon came the ugly divorce, and somehow, Spencer Lockwood ended up with sole custody of his daughter while her mother jetted off to NYC. Home life became lonely, but she always had Chloe. Her father got lonely too though, and started going back to church, something that he used to do as a boy and that his father, Joel Lockwood, heavily suggested to Andros that he do over the phone. After all, when he left Manchester for London, London had corrupt him. The money, the booze, his promiscuous wife that turned out unfaithful and her genetics were in their very daughter now. Andros, feeling alone and betrayed, decided to listen to his brother and return to church, to find purpose, reconstruct his life, and perhaps a more faithful wife. As luck would have it, he did. He met Mary Margert Ashely with her two children, recently widowed, and was she devout to the church. Somehow, he fell in love. Gwyn didn't understand it. This woman was dower, hardly fashionable, and strict. Unbelievably strict. Her children were no better and made Gwyn's life miserable at home. As she grew older, she took more to more with spending less time at her house, and more at school and with Chloe. Any excuse to not be around her new family. She also began to notice other changes. Some with her body, she shot up in height, began to develop curves, had to fight ache, her moods always wild, and she felt the need to tame her hair often. Her body and mood swings weren't the only changes though. Gwyn noticed that she got butterfly feelings around not boys, but girls. Especially around Chloe. It was like she couldn't concentrate, her eyes, her lips, the shape of her body. Everything was so distracting. Her stomach always felt queasy around girls, a deep fire would ignite within her that she didn't know how to let loose. Unfortunately, she also knew she could not talk about this information at home. It went against God, it went against everything in that stupid church, it went against the beliefs of the now Lockwood-Ashely combined household. Gwyn knew she had to be careful. One day, she made her move on Chloe, because she couldn't bare it any longer and to her shock, Chloe returned the kiss. They saw each other in secret, but as people in love do, they got sloppy, and much like in the fashion of her mother, Gwyn and Chloe were discovered fooling around in bed when the Lockwood-Ashley's came home unexpectant. Horrified, Chloe was thrown out and then Gwyn was thrown into her room. It soon became an uprooting of the house hold, and they moved neighborhoods to separate her from Chloe. Her smart phone was taken away, she could only have a controlled flip phone. Gwyn even got pulled out of school and stuck in a highly restrictive religious school, that supposedly would also cure her of her sinful habits. It didn't, but she faked her way through it just to get out. Right before her eighteenth birthday, Gwyn had been sneaking around with another girl and got caught again. The Lockwood-Ashely's were livid and cut ties completely, and kicked her out of the house. When she took an expensive cab to Chloe's place, she found a new family living there. Apparently the Prices had moved out of the United Kingdom. Something to do with deployment. At a loss, Gwynth remembered her Uncle Reginald Lockwood, who went by Orion Knight now, legally and everything. She knew he had been disowned by his half of the Lockwood family for similar reasons. Recently, he came back from Syria, alive but blinded. She called him up, hoping to move in with him and to act as some sort of assistant. In addition, Gwynth also needed some form of adult support if she was going to go to college, and more importantly, finish her high school diploma. Thankfully, she managed to do just that. In honor of her memory of Chloe and their dreams of saving animals, Gwyn enrolled into a veterinary program with a concentration in dogs and animals, but took additional exams and certification for pocket pets and large farm animals. She ended up loving her Uncle so much, and was forever thankful for his help, decided to move in with him permanently and become his care taker, balancing his needs as well as her own. She followed him to Hickstead and has been living with him since.
