He grew up well off, but not filthy rich. As the youngest of three children, Gideon felt like he had to prove himself. While his parents showed equal love, he saw his siblings as competition for the family business – knowing full well that he could lose it after his parents passed. His oldest sibling followed their dad’s interest and the middle followed their mother, Gideon forced himself to become into both interests. At first, it was out of spite to prove himself better, but he ended up falling in love. Beekeeping to Gideon was the calm after the storm of jewelry making. The silence of watching the hives, balanced out the insanity of custom design deadlines. Being in school was another competitive aspect for Gideon, clawing for high grades – making a lot of his relationships, romance and friendship, suffer. This behavior has since changed after university but he hasn’t had the best time fixing these relations. He gained a few former friends but struggles to make new, meaningful relationships. After graduation, he traveled with his father around the world a bit to understand the gem trade and to see the wonders of the natural world. Gideon returned to Hickstead at twenty-five, settling into helping people at his parent’s shop. Over the last two years – Gideon has amassed quite a profile of clientele, from varying social classes. He lives by himself in Willow Bridge but enjoys going to Hickstead to tend his hives and enjoy the small town. It reminds him of a few Hallmark movie towns.
