Ama didn’t know who was more excited, her or Molly. Her young cousin had finally moved out of her parent's home and was looking to furnish her flat. The older woman had a few items that fit nicely in Molly’s flat – but there were a few things that needed to be updated desperately. Mainly the couch and things in the kitchen. Ama was able to afford to give her cousin some nice things. It made life a bit less stressful. She knew her aunt and uncle were fully capable of helping, but Ama wanted to do it. Work had been busy, and she needed some retail therapy that wasn’t just for her or the kiddos.
The triplets were home with Kyler, most likely bugging their uncle to go swimming in the new saltwater pool that was just built.
Ama picked up Molly at her flat and drove them to a midscale shop. It was a place that had a good mix of affordable to expensive, and there was a thrift area attached. For those like Ama who liked luxury with a hint of a dead old lady. “Okay, Molly,” Ama smiled, pulling out her notepad. “What do you want to shop for first? Other than a couch,” Ama asked, ready to write whatever Molly told her.
It was exciting, finally getting out of her parents place. It was finally time to move on out of her tiny room that she'd grown up in and give it back to her parents. Who knew who would claim the room for their own, but she didn't mind it. She'd just made them promise her that they didn't touch Danny's room whatsoever.
As much as he was older and likely not going to crash long at home when he eventually came back, she couldn't let them disturb what she had of her brother. She was glad though, that Ama was prepared to help her out. She loved it when she got to spend time with Ama. She understood that her cousin was busy with her own things, so they didn't get to hang out as much as Molly would've liked, but she understood that you couldn't have everything in life.
“Okay, Molly,” Ama smiled, pulling out her notepad. “What do you want to shop for first? Other than a couch,” Ama asked, ready to write whatever Molly told her.
Looking over, she noticed that they had finally arrived and that Ama was waiting on her.
"Oh, right! Um... Aside from a couch, maybe a small coffee table? I haven't given this much thought if I'm honest," she laughed, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly, "Maybe some small storage so I put Shelby's things away? A lamp too, would prove to be useful for when I decide sit and read. What do you think I need?"
Ama looked and smiled. “I understand, it is a bit overhauling, isn’t it?” Ama remembered when she was living on her own for the first time. There was a lot of decision-making about what was needed or not. She had dwindled a lot after buying so much in the first round. Despite coming from wealth, Ama made her own way. Her parents didn’t help with costs, something she knew many people her age that came from wealth didn’t really do. If anything, it made Ama have better respect for her financials.
“How about we start with the couch first? We can build a collection off of that since it’s considered a centerpiece. Mainly, if you feel a bit put together, you know? A solid place to rest and relax, I think is very important. Mainly creature comforts.”

Molly nodded, "It's a lot overwhelming. Guess I was a little too confident I had what I needed."

"Yeah, sounds like a solid plan." She agreed as she pushed her hair back out of her face. "Honestly though, thank you for coming with me to do this. I would be super lost without someone to help keep me on track. I'd have probably walked out of the building out of sheer indecisiveness."
She didn't like her inability to pick what she liked on the spot, and hated admitting it, but alas, it was good to know. At least, she told herself it was good to know her own flaws.
“You aren’t the only one, trust me. When Christian and I moved into our current home, it was a massive decision. Granted, it led us to make it custom – as a lot of the current homes didn’t fit our needs.” It wasn’t every day that a home contained immediate and in-laws. Plus, with Paige possibly coming back and renting the cottage – there needed to be a lot of space for people. Ama was probably the only person she knew of that had two laundry rooms.
“You know I love seeing you. Plus, I enjoy shopping. Even if it’s for someone else.” Maybe it was because she was always shopping for work. Looking at other designers and all that. It made Ama have an eye for certain things, that often could annoy people. It’s one of the reasons why she had a lot of custom work in her home. While she could appear pushy, she never forced anyone else to have her views. Shopping with family, it was all questions. Making sure they were truly comfortable with it.
“Is a color or…texture you want? Velvet? Suede..?”

Molly nodded in understanding, "Yeah... I don't know why I thought moving out of home was going to be simple, wishful thinking I guess."
“You know I love seeing you. Plus, I enjoy shopping. Even if it’s for someone else.”
"I don't know about that Ama, I can be a right pain in the butt at the best of times," she laughed, "I'm a walking dysfunction."
And it wasn't far from the truth either, she struggled a lot in her day to day, having to make sure that the whole month was planned out so that there were no unexpected surprises.
“Is a color or…texture you want? Velvet? Suede..?”
At that she made a face, "Something neutral, maybe a grey suede?"
“Well, we’re still talking to each other, aren’t we?” she asked. It was rare that Ama didn’t get along with almost everyone in her family. So far, the only thing that has been bothering people was the fact she wasn’t married yet. On occasion, there was some weird comment on how she raised her children – but that was that.
“Sure!” Ama made her way through the store, knowing a bit too well the layout of the place. She found the area of the grey, as the store itself was kind of set up by color stories. Eyes scanned and landed on a sofa. It wasn’t suede, but the fabric had a nice touch to it. “What do you think? The shape is a bit more mid-century mod, but those are often quite comfortable.”
