"People do get cold feet you know, brother. Perhaps you weren't satisfying enough for her." His brows furrowed and he shook his head in thought. He'd know if she'd gotten cold feet. His ex wasn't the type of girl to hide her feelings. If she wasn't feeling something, she would tell him. He bit his tongue, holding back the retort he'd usually make if the person standing in front of him wasn't his sister. "Nope that definitely wasn't the issue, trust me." He said, saying no more on his ability to please women.
A sly smile worked its way onto his face as he managed to land a jab to her ribs, only for her to retaliate - which he had expected. He ran a hand over the spot on his arm that her fist had connected with as his smirk widened. ”Watch it. She left you, Dante, time to get over it and realize her for the bitch she was." His eyes narrowed and the smile dropped from his face. "She isn't a bitch." He huffed in annoyance. She may have been his sister but he still wouldn't stand anyone bad mouthing his ex. She had been the love of his life after all. He still felt a sense of loyalty to the woman for some stupid reason. "What are your plans for the rest of the day?"

She rolled her eyes at his expression, clearly unable to accept what had happened with her. She got it - in theory - people got under your skin, got into your head. Not that she could speak from experience with romance, hers were flings and to scratch an itch, not someone to form emotional connections with and talk about starting families; gross. "Nope that definitely wasn't the issue, trust me." Zira quirked a brow but also left the topic alone, they were a relatively open family but she still had her limits; even if she didn't mind the odd joke and all that. She didn't make a further comment, she was going to twang that nerve of his like a guitar string if she wasn't careful, and she wasn't in the mood for a falling out or a brawl.
Zira smirked in response to the rub of his arm, served him right, he earned that one. His huff though made her smirk widen, despite the flash of annoyance she felt at his ridiculous loyalty to the woman who had broken his stupid soft heart. Her brother might be harder on the outside than Gael - who was a stupid cream centered cinnamon roll - but he was just as soft deep deep down. If anything, Zira felt she might be the least emotional of them all; fancy that. "She isn't a bitch." She pulled a face at that. "She is. A stupid one." She gave him a pointed look. "Family first, her loyalty was clearly tested and she bailed." Zira shrugged, "Not worth the tears, bro, or the loyalty." She said firmly. "What are your plans for the rest of the day?" Zahira tilted her head as she thought on her plans. "Depends, are you going to follow me about for the rest of the day? Or do you have other things to attend to?" She shot him a sly look, hiding her smile.
Dante clenched his fist and crossed his arms across his chest to keep his hands busy. His sister was starting to flare his temper and he didn’t want to snap. "She is. A stupid one." His eyes narrowed at her sentence. "Family first, her loyalty was clearly tested and she bailed. Not worth the tears, bro, or the loyalty." His lips tightened his anger bubbled under the surface. Zira may have believed what she was saying but he didn’t and wouldn’t. "Depends, are you going to follow me about for the rest of the day? Or do you have other things to attend to?" As his temper dispersed, he let his arms drop back to his sides, smirking slightly. ”Nah I’m done stalking you for the day. . I have some things that need seeing to.”

She recognised the signs in him, she'd grown up with him after all, and fought with him many times. "She is. A stupid one." Zira raised a brow at the effort it clearly took him to spit out the words and she rolled her eyes, looking away from him. It grated that he still felt that loyalty to someone outside the family, who had clearly abandoned him. "Don't panic, you won't burst into flames for it." as if the woman was some sort of Saint. She hoped her brother could move on soon, it was only going to hurt him if he didn't. The family would be expecting him to find a new match at some point and start adding to the family. They'd expect the same from her too at some point, but they'd be waiting a long ass time. She'd already come to blows with her parents about that too, among the hundreds of other things.
She'd really wound him up now, but oddly enough Zahira didn't care, especially not to even remotely apologise. He needed to get over her and over himself. People left. It only proved who was worth their loyalty and love and who wasn't. Being in the family wasn't an easy task, if she bailed on the first scare she'd never have made it past the first anniversary, let alone down the damn isle. Prissy little thing. ”Nah I’m done stalking you for the day. . I have some things that need seeing to.” Zahira snorted and glanced at him, somewhat a little haughtily. "Well thank fuck for that, babysitting duties are done. Have fun with your 'important crap'" She tossed her hair and spun around to begin walking in the other direction, she had her own shit to deal with for the day that didn't involve her brother's watchful gaze.
