It was nice to just spend a quiet moment away from the craziness of his life, sat with a book, leaning against a tree and Echo grazing just a short distance away in the shade. There was just something appealling to the life that for just a spare moment, Eryx could genuinely relax. Here, there was just the sounds of song birds and horses and the occassional rider or hand talking in the distance. Calm. Serene. Beautiful.
"Echo! Hey!"
Of course, the sound of his horse's name being called broke that peace as he leaned forward a touch to watch a young lady at the fence. He raised a brow at this, and at the way his horse looked up from his mouthful of grass and nickered curiously. And then with no grace whatsoever, she fell into the pasture. He smiled a little before standing up, tucking his book under his arm and cued Echo to follow him over.
He tilted his head slightly as he reached the fenceline where the young woman had fallen in, that small amused smile still present.
"Apparently, gravity and yourself don't quite seem to agree," he mused before offering her a hand to stand up, "But ever more curious is how my horse has reacted to you - he normally wouldn't have even glanced at another person's call."
He didn't stop Echo from reaching out to the young lady as he sniffed at her hair curiously, ever the gentleman.
At that, he raised a brow, amused, "Why the defense?"
"It was just a question."
"Right, just a question. So, since you are on tone - why so abrupt?"
He poured his shot and downed it in one smooth, well practiced movement. And just like that, he was partially staring and observing the younger man's face, trying to get a clearer read on him. What was up his nose this evening?
"I see, not one to procrastinate then."
"Never," Eryx replied, his tone genuine, "But then again, serving time in the army does tend to lend that sort of quality. I've always remained on top of my game, always doing what needs to be done - bigger picture and all that. And if I was to have a guess, you're likely of similiar mind."
He smiled, almost a smirk really - dropping a little bit of bait to see if he would take at it this time.
"It's a coincidence, you're of no importance to me, for me to miss."
"Uh-huh, right," he smiled and signalled the bar for his usual order.
"Where have you been?"
Eryx tilted his head slightly to the side and watched Tobias, eyes roving over every square inch of his face, "Do I need to account myself to you, on the basis that I am of no importance to you?"
He nodded politely as the Vodka and shot glass arrived in front of him, and he made a measured show of taking his time, pouring the liquid into the glass before throwing it back and set the glass down.
"But to humor you," he chuckled, "A couple of meetings ran later than expected, and as a result, things got pushed back further and further. Rather unavoidable, nothing could wait until morning."
So to go with this international player who likes to balance the powers that be, this is a man who has his share of men who do just as shady tasks as their boss. With their skill sets, they are intimidating killers that know how to blend in. So here are just some of the men that would be fun to fill out and have around, there is plenty of wiggle room though some might have more requirements than others. All should come from some form of corrupted or twisted background in some way. All face-claims that have been suggested are OPEN/UNCLAIMED. Everything is a suggestion, and open to discussion if you are looking to alter things.
If you are interested in claiming a character, it's best to hit me on Discord [BlackJack] - because I am more often available there and am liable to miss comments here.

His meetings ran later than he'd wanted them to, having grown used to having the same routine for weeks now. The same space at the club, the same curious conversations that he'd have with that ever curious boy. He wasn't even sure what was it was that allowed him to continue to entertain the young man, but was it was an enigma in itself and he prided himself on unraveling oddities like that. What he might find, what truths he might uncover were relatively meaningless in the end, for he knew it couldn't be that bad - not compared to himself. Not compared to the bad he knew existed, the things he saw and did.
Walking into the club, he immediately looked to the bar, frowning when he noticed that his case was not there at the bar looking like someone had insulted him. His expression went back to neutral just as quick, signalling the bar before he began to move over to his booth. His brow rose a little bit as he noticed someone sitting there before he registered the form. Oh. He was here. How interesting.
Moving over, he leaned on the edge of the booth, arms folded over his chest, the faintest hint of a smirk on his face.
"So, did you miss me?" he asked, the smirk becoming more pronounced as he moved to his usual space to sit down, "Or is this just some coincidence that you are sitting here?"

the history
father • Bruno Vassiades - Deceased mother • Lanna Vassiades - Deceased siblings • ----- important people • --- hometown • London, England overall history •
Despite being born in England, Eryx was raised abroad without a stable home to call his own. His father was constantly on the move which took him and his mother all over the world.
He was Privately Schooled by Tutors and by His Father who was insistent that would take over the family business when he was old enough.
As he grew up he was very quickly desensitized against the harshness of the world he was being brought up. By the age of 7, he was able to track, shoot, dispatch, process and assess his own food before cooking it himself.
His mother was very much unnerved by the lack of humanity behind his dark eyes and Eryx knew it. He tried to be better, but his father was quick to punish him for showing vulnerabilities.
As a teen, he was sent to a private boarding school for a time before he was brought back into the fold of the family business. His father even forced him to fight with an Army for a few years.
He studied and went to college, getting his degrees whilst abroad, never having to step foot into classrooms. And all the while behind the polite, false smiles he forced, he was attending to business on his father's behalf.
He was a merciless young man, very strongly rooted into his father's business. His mother's pleas to escape the life fell on deaf ears.
He was 20 when his parents were taken out by a group who were opposed to the way his family handled things, how they ensured the tables stayed balanced. Enraged by their audacity, his hand forced, he very casually wiped out every single member that associated with the group in question.
Eryx continued to work, traveling about and continuing to uphold a law unto his own decree - always ahead of the various forces of the world that would always seek to put an end to him.
Now he resides in Hickstead, running a Bookies and several other businesses to move his money around. He still keeps a very firm hold on the underbellies of the world and has turned his eyes to England to keep things in check.
Notes;
- He is an insomiac; he manages about six-seven hours of sleep through out the week in the form of power naps when and where he can.
- He does not like to talk about what he's done; he can see that his life is nothing shy of screwed up, but it is what it is and he cannot change his nature and training.
- He has a very heavy, dangerous presence when he's in a room, and very few people like to share the same space as him.
