"That, I can do as long as you'll allow me conversation in the mean time?" He responded smoothly, tilting his head, "I'm Dei."
Her smile didn't waver as she nodded to his request, "I can certainly allow you some conversation in the mean time, though you'll have to forgive how boring I am."
It wasn't a lie either - Molly knew how limited her conversation pallete was on the best of days, and frankly, she wasn't sure how she managed to be as social as she was at the best of times with such a limited spectrum of things to talk about.
"I'm Molly."
She studied his face as she sipped her drink - and found, even with the cute little smile, he was handsome. Why was such a good looking guy talking to her, of all people? Maybe she should've worn something a little more flashy or something, but now she felt a little to casual. But maybe that was good right? She'd have to talk to Ama about stuff like this, she'd have more of an idea right?
"So tell me what you do for work?"
She regretted the words the moment she spoke - how stupid was that question?
The morning had been slightly erratic from the moment she woke up almost thirty minutes late. Her alarm hadn't gone off, so she was rushing about like a mad woman trying to claw back the time she'd lost. It didn't help that she'd had that three am video call to Danny that lasted until five before she went back to bed to nap, only to wake at seven-thirty.
So she was behind, almost missed her bus and apologized to the driver before taking her seat. She then had to race into the college to hand in an assessment paper for English before running all the way down to the hospital and hazardously managed her way into her uniform once she reached the staff room. From there, the morning had slowed, but she remained somehow busy.
Thankfully with lunch, she promised to get Mal something to eat and drink since she'd forgotten her own lunch at home. Now with two coffees and a few choice snacks, she moved into the office space and carefully set the trays down before sitting down in her own chair with a sigh.
"Good morning Mal," she breathed, shutting her eyes, "Got you a coffee and stuff for us to eat... I hope you don't mind the less than healthy route today."
It didn't take too long for her to start wondering why she'd even bothered coming out. There was just something about sitting at a bar alone that felt ridiculously depressing and stupid.
"I would ask you if you'd like a drink but..." He looked pointedly at her full drink. "How about a shot instead? Your choice." He offered.
She looked up, curious at the voice that spoke - taking a moment to register that it was her being addressed. She took in his face - gods he was handsome - and smiled back politely.
"How about you hold onto that drink for a few moments while I finish mine?" she replied, trying and failing to rein in her bubbly personality a bit.
Her friends had always said she could be too much to handle straight away, and that was probably why she hadn't found a guy. She wasn't entirely sure if that was the whole truth of the matter, but she tried all the same to not be an instant light-bulb of happiness.
Drinking wasn't usually Molly's thing. Really, she only went out on occasion - most often on Danny's birthday when he wasn't home to celebrate it, or after a mildly stressful day managing incoming and out going patients at the hospital. She loved her job, she wouldn't trade it in for the world, but some days it ran her to the floor.
She had texted her friends to see if they were willing to come out and have a drink with her, but she got no reply so she shrugged it off and decided to go on her own for once. It wasn't something she did normally, but she'd been to the clubs enough that she felt mostly safe attending one on her own. She might just meet one of her friends there already three parts wasted and see the other side of them. Not that she would stop being their friend, not by a long chalk.
She made her way in once she showed her ID and made it up to the bar and waited her turn before she was served, asking for a Gin and Tonic to start off her night. She sat and waited, looking a little out of place off to the side of some bikers who were talking loudly about something she couldn't make out. She didn't mind, after all, this was a club. Not everywhere could be church quiet. With her drink in front of her, she sipped at her drink, paying vague attention to what was playing on the speakers around her. It wasn't her sort of music, but that wasn't why she was in.

the history

Her mother was unaware of the fact that she was pregnant until she got terrible cramps during a wedding service for her best friend. One moment all was fine and the next an unexpected child born at the venue. To say that it was an eventful wedding would never be lost on Molly over the years. Helen and Brian were made to be her god parents, since Molly had crashed their wedding with her arrival, but the pair were more than happy to take that role.
Growing up, Molly was very attached to her brother, looking up to him at every turn and followed him around like a lost puppy. Though it was not always smooth sailing between the siblings, having their share of squabbles when she tried to join the boys. With age, she got better, but her bond with her older brother grew tighter even if they weren't joined at the hip. He was there to defend her when others picked on her, there to chase away the boys that pulled on her pony tail of red hair, there to play video games after school and read Harry Potter together before bed.
All through school, she was a good student, earning her share of awards both for her academics and sporting achievements - making soccer captain multiple times and even winning the finals with her school. Entering her teenage years, Danny shooed off a lot of other boys that expressed their interest in Molly and it did cause some fighting, but Danny explained to her that they weren't being kind, and that she had to wait for the right person to win over her heart. He made her promise not to do anything she regretted, and she held true to her promise.
Things were running smoothly, only rocked when her brother finally launched himself into the army. Beyond annoyed, Molly tried to stop Danny doing something so dangerous, but he sat down and explained that it was his dream and what he wanted, promising that he wouldn't take any unnecessary risks whilst he was away. From the moment he was gone, Molly found herself lost without her brother to shadow around the house, her parents both noticed how she was a lot more anxious and fretted, withdrawing from her naturally sociable behaviors to stay in her room more. With the help of their local GP, she was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, given pills to take and her parents decided to let her get her first pet to aid with keeping her busy.
Shelby proved to be the best thing for her throughout the rest of her education, keeping her busy and getting her out more. She even took to participating in local dog obedience and agility shows, and even though she didn't win at any events, she had a blast doing them anyway. Finishing up College, she immediately looked for a job, landing a gig as a receptionist at the doctor's office. After a three months trial, she was give a full time job there and after a year, she moved out of home into her own small flat. She doesn't have a lot, but she's grateful for what she does have, and tries to give where she can.
She still talks to her brother regularly, keeping a clock dedicated to the time zone he's in so she can say good morning or night regardless if he calls her or not.
Trivia; - Whilst having her brother's call sign on her left shoulder, Danny made up his own for Molly and has 'Mike Hotel Romeo' on his right shoulder. Molly and Danny are really close, and she worries about him all the time. She'll purposely stay awake late and set alarms so she can talk to him since he's out of the country on tour.
- She also has a Rough Collie called Shelby to help her with her day to day life. She only called her dog Shelby after Thomas Shelby from the TV show Peaky Blinders.
- She's also handy with a needle and thread - she stitched a cut on Danny's left hand after he cut it scaling a fence and didn't want their parents to know. A quick search on youtube and google followed by thirty minutes of Danny cursing her saw the wound stitched and dealt with. He still has the scar from it.
