overall personality • Grayson is the self-depreciating, hard working butt of all jokes. He accepts what is handed out to him, and rarely forgets a face, name or place - holding grudges or promises for as long as needed. He's a hard worker that stands out like a sore thumb, never changing. He's a soft soul under the dark humor and mischievous grin that longs for a good hug and for someone to understand that he's not the person they first meet. Whilst in strong denial of himself, it doesn't mean he won't take a good time when he finds it. Grayson can often be found at the Seven Oaks stables with his horses, at a bar or locked in his dorm room as he studies.

Grayson was dumped on Michal days after his birth, his mother claiming that the child was the result of the one night stand she'd had with him and because of her desire to leave the country, had no time to raise a child as she chased her future. Unquestioning, Michal took the child under his wing and raised him as his own.
Growing up in the outback of Australia, Grayson grew up on horse back and in the back of pickups. It was an interesting time as the young boy was raised with seasoned Jackaroos, schooled via the radio in the stations and only ever had the company of older men. Grayson was a faster learner, nimble and always ready to race out in the pastures with the other men to drive the cattle to new pastures. At the age of seven he was allowed to go out hunting down the feral pests of the outback, learning how to live off the land and navigate without communications.
He was confident and bold, a risk taker like no other but was not above slaving under the sun to repair fences and do other hard work around the farm. He was eleven however when things tore Grayson's life apart. A new shipment of bulls had arrived and they were to be moved into the working yards for tagging and vaccinations following their quarantine period. The bulls were particularly hot tempered, resisting the older men that were trying to move them when one turned on Michal. Grayson watched in horror as his father was trampled by the beast, yelling out and went to dive into the fray, only to be held back by a senior man called Barnes. It took three rounds to kill the bull mauling the fallen man, spooking the other bulls into moving.
Escaping Barnes' hold, Gray rushed in and dove down into the dirt beside his father, but it was too late. The young lad had to be pried away from his father's side, screaming murder at the cops, but he was pulled aside anyway and ushered into the arms of his fellow jackaroos who were like uncles to him. It was a bitter affair, with Gray taking his possession of his father's belongings, intending to keep the man close, ready to throw down with the cattle again but social workers were brought onto the scene. Now that Michal was dead and buried, the socials had gotten into contact with Michal's remaining relative, a brother in England who agreed to take Gray on.
Barnes and other men all tried to appeal, to openly adopt Gray as their own, but it was in vain as Grayson was plucked up out of what he knew and was handed over to a stranger. Barnes saw him off to the airport, promising to send over the rest of his belongings as soon as the young man had an address, gave him his number and with many tears shared, ushered the young man on board the one way flight.
Upon reaching London England, Grayson immediately hated it. Too loud, too noisy, far too many people, not a speck of country to be seen. He stood out like a sore thumb in his clothes and hat, and when he met his uncle, he glared at him and told him off. He was dreadfully home sick following his arrival into the country, and soon enough brushed off into public schooling. It was so strange to him after years of going to school over the radio. He was bullied almost immediately for how he walked, dressed, spoke - nothing was good enough to make friends. He picked fights and had issues adjusting to life. His uncle tried to allow for the huge change of circumstances, a boy from another country living a roving lifestyle now confined to the city where grass was only found in parkland.
Even Luke's fiancee tried to be open and welcoming, but she found herself getting yelled at and told off in colourful words. Grayson broke after eight months, when Abby washed the battered Akubra hat whilst Grayson was at school. His father's hat. He flew into a rage, beating Abby with Luke having to break it off and lock Grayson into a room to cool off. Following that, everything was strained and Grayson refused to apologise for his actions, and with more hateful words, Abby left Luke. What came after the break up Grayson paid for in regular beatings; his uncle, a man he already hated let out any and all anger out on the young boy.
Immediately he reached out to Barnes, telling the other man what was going on in his life and what he'd done, begging to come home but his uncle came into his room and smashed the phone, erasing another connection he had to his home and his father. Grayson never settled, every day a test to see what triggered his uncle into a new fit of rage. Over the years Grayson fought back every time his uncle brought fists in the picture, sometimes winning but most times losing.
He scraped by into college at seventeen, still wearing every belting on his skin, isolated. By the age of eighteen, he had at least one friend who introduced him to another world and found that between the two of them, they made substantial money by late night entertaining people. With the money they made, they both moved out of their homes and set up their own private dorms whilst they studied, deciding to take fate into their own hands.
Now, even at 22, Grayson has very little self-respect or self-love. He does what he does to earn money, going as far as denying his own sexuality and dissociating from the real world more often than not, exchanging and changing personalities without warning or cause. Between studying, camming and competing in western horse sports with his Mule - Jed - and Quarter horse - Red, there is little to say that Grayson isn't always on the move. He has long since given up trying to go home, yet still clings to the distant desire to return.
