Welcome to Hickstead, home to both Seven Oak Stables, and Blue Acre - two rival stables. Both offer opportunities for their clients to reach the highest level of excellence. Each stable differs from the other, so choose wisely and never forget, loyalty is everything... Meanwhile as the stables battle it out, there's trouble brewing at the university. Be careful, if you don't pick a side you may get caught in the cross-fire...

There are 5 jumps to complete, beginning with a small 85cm as the first fence, then to Number 5, the one-strided double, the first fence of which is an oxer, the second is an upright, then to number 8 which is an oxer, and then turning left to number 10, and right to number 11 - the final fence.
Jessie almost couldn't believe they'd made it to the jump off - Wildfire was such an unknown and could be a real handful on his best day. The firey chestnut made it well known he was excited for clearing his fences as he strutted about the warm up, a keen eye taking a look at everything around him as his ears pricked and he snorted loudly at every passing person. Jessie kept him moving, wanting him both to stay warm and keep focused, stay on the job - the minute he started to lose concentration would be when things went to pot, and just before she was announced back into the ring, she popped a couple of jumps, ensuring the horse felt loose and ready to go against the clock - he was fast and agile, but sometimes his giddiness got the best of him.
She figured they may as well have fun and go for speed though, given that they'd gotten this far. "Gotta risk it for a choccy biscuit, hey bud?" She murmured to Wildfire as they circled once before the bell went and she released the beast. She let him fly off at the start, a little too fast - the first jump Wildfire set off for at a blinder and jumped a bit flat, knocking the top pole. Oops. Jessie winced but carried on regardless, too late to regret it now. She spun the horse on his haunches, cutting off a corner to the next and taking out a stride for the double - she hung on and turned for the next, the horse flying beneath her, she could feel his adrenaline thrumming through him as the crowd cheered them on and they spun for the final fence. Jessie abandoned all reason and clicked the chestnut on. He responded, taking off for the fence miles away, and though his scope made it over with some room to spare, unfortunately he went just a little too flat and rolled the top pole to the ground. Grinning ear to ear, Jessie patted the boy anyway, happy with how he'd gone, having done all she'd asked.
Angél was wrapped that they had made it into the jump off, and she asked Ripple to take the jump in the warm up arena once, then keeping him at a working walk to keep him warm as they waited for their turn, but not wanting to over-tire the pony, because she wanted him to be able to go as fast as he could over the shortened course.
"You and me, together." She whispered as they entered the arena. "We got this." She asked for a canter and when the bell rang, she asked for a circle and then rode through the flags, attention already on the first fence. "Let's go!" She rose out of the saddle as the pony jumped cleanly over the upright and she was already looking to their next fence, not bothering to check the pony's speed, he had little legs and would need the speed so they didn't get any time faults, and she remained out of the saddle, keeping her legs against Ripple's sides as they went from one jump to the next, though she did ask for a half halt before the double and then let him go all out again as they completed the course and galloped through the flags.
Izzy couldn't believe she had made it to the jump off. Stephanie had given her a pep talk and coached herself and Queenie over a few warmup fences while they waited.
It wasn't long after when her name was called - brining the chocolate palomino to a trot and then a walk before heading out to the show jumping ring. Stephanie wished them good luck before the brunette and the mare headed towards the first fence. Izzy asked for a bit more canter this time, preparing the mare for a quick time.
The pair flew through the course, Izzy opening her rein to signal to the mare they were going to turn in the air. Queenie landed and turned towards the next fence every time. Queenie galloped towards fence 11 and flew up and over - leaving every fence up this time. The rider let out a sigh, glad that they had finished well. She glanced at the time clock and grinned as they saw they had the fastest time currently. Izzy used her gloved hands to give the mare a pat on the neck.
"That's the speedy Queenie I know!" Izzy said, giving the mare a loose rein as they walked out of the arena and headed to go check out the rest of the show grounds.
Jump off's were always a tricky business with Adonis. When he got excited, the big oaf tended to start running through fences instead of picking up over them. It was as if he panicked and forgot where his feet were. Lily had been working on it with him, as much as she could, but only practise would tell how much the work had paid off. She gave him a another few jumps before going back into the ring, making sure he felt warm and settled.
She felt his demeanour change with the excitement of the crowd - especially being the last to go, the pressure settled on her, heavy and impossible to ignore. She tried not to let it change her, she'd done this so many times, but she knew Adonis could feel it. She set off at a forward canter, keeping Adonis together as she approached the first, and as they cleared it, she relaxed a little. The second fence went well, and then the third. She felt herself get a little ahead of the game, trying hard not to ask too much or upset his rhythm. A clear round was plenty. Unfortunately, as they approached the last, she felt him resist a little - getting excited and trying to rush the fence. His legs dangled and he went flat, clipping the top pole. Lily smiled, a little disappointed, but patted Adonis as they crossed the line. "Well done, bud." She said softly, pleased with how he had gone all the same.
