Emma Marie Brown was starting fresh. She was on her own for the first time. She had money burning a hole in her pocket and the first thing she decided to do was find a place to live in the horse-ridden town of Hickstead. She didn’t know how long she’d be here and wasn’t ready to set down deep roots just yet. Because of this, Emma had decided to go for a nice flat instead.
Emma pulled up to the building and the first thing she did was make sure her key worked. She slowly strode through her freshly-painted two-bed / one-bath apartment, taking note of any nicks or tarnishes for the landlord’s inventory. She made sure all the lights and fixtures worked and couldn’t help but twirl and squeal when she realized that this place was hers. This was her bathroom, her closet, her front door… For the first time in her life, this was all hers. Yes, it was rented, but still… hers.
Emma literally skipped to her truck. She didn’t have a lot but what she had was hers and she was so excited to start this adventure. She pulled out her extra-large feed bucket that had electronics inside. In moments like this, a girl needed her portable speaker. She bounced back to her new place, set the bucket down, and plugged in her speaker. While Emma was a big country music fan, as soon as the bluetooth connected, she found her oldies playlist and couldn’t help but smile as she put on the song she was looking for: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough…
Emma started shaking her hips, singing loudly and joyfully jamming out as she pranced around having the time of her life with her door and windows wide open…
