clementine had made a one of the worst mistakes you could make when studying - forgetting her headphones in her dorm. there was absolutely no way she’d be walking back just to get them, her focus was easily distracted and she was meant to start editing bits of her dissertation today. getting a phd was not easy, and at times she debated on whether or not it was worth it. she had gotten this far and had spent almost five years studying and did not want it going to waste. sure, there were psych jobs she could do with her masters, but getting the last two years out of the way now in her mind is the best way to go. two of those semesters would be spent doing an internship at a practice of her choosing which definitely seemed daunting, but the dissertation was the current hurdle to get through.

without her headphones clem knew she’d have to find somewhere quiet, which can be difficult on campus this time of day. her first thought was the library, which had too many people in it and would definitely make her skin crawl. then she tried the west corner of the second floor, usually pretty quiet but unfortunately full of theater students practicing boisterously. that lead her to the grounds. she was lucky the sun decided to come out today, warming her up from the inside out.

spotting a small pavilion with not many people around, she sat down on the cold bench, pulling her notes and laptop out of her bag. the pavilion was emptier than she would think, just a few potential stoners loitering about and people passing through. clementine wouldn’t be surprised if anyone else sought a quiet study spot and ended up here, unless there were some random curse or potential cheese touch moment at the campus she had yet to hear of. clementine laughs at her thought process quietly, pulling herself together to get to work.
