"Sorry I'm late." Flynn heard Bruce's apology and returned the kiss, and as the situation developed, she was partly glad that he was with her. It would be terrifying to be alone, and she felt protected with him at her side, feeling his warm and comforting hand on her shoulder. She was worried though, that he might be put in a position to protect her or someone else. She raised a hand up to his and squeezed it gently, a silent plea for him to stay with her as she sent out a silent prayer that everything would be okay.
"Can we let the others go, and then I'll give you everything we have." She held the cashier speak. Normally you wouldn't have heard it across the way, but it was so silent with fear, that it was easy to pick up the words. She didn't even know his name, and she felt a stab of guilt for it - didn't even know his name and he was trying to get them all out and safe. "No, You'll do as I say. Open the till, or you'll be meeting your Gods early." She could help letting out a small gasp and a flinch as the guy suddenly shoved the cashier to his knees, a knife pressed to his neck. She swallowed, trying to switch on her calm nurse's brain to avoid panicking. She didn't dare speak, not wanting to draw attention to herself or Bruce and put them into fire either.
"Nope, doesn't feel over inflated. I think I'm all good." Flynn raised her brows and paused to watch him, snorting quietly. "Who's to say that's the head it's gone to." She pressed her lips together to avoid letting out the laugh. "Call me a hopeless romantic, but doing things for you makes me happy." Well she couldn't make a joke out of that, and her expression softened. "Well, call me a hopeless romantic, because I love you for it." She had always been that dreamy, soul-mate believing kind of girl growing up, and though she'd had the huge hiccup of a marriage before, she still wanted to believe it was out there, and a part of her believed that Bruce was it.
She saw his shudder and laughed, but that shudder said he felt the same as her. "Tiana likes eating those dipped in sherbet, and she can't blame crazy pregnancy cravings on that." Flynn pulled a face of disgust, "Okay ew, that's just gross." and she wouldn't normally say she was one to talk, but at least she could blame hers on the pregnancy. "I guess we will just have to battle the cravings as they hit. I shall make sure the pantry is stocked up on chocolate though, lots of bags of those treat-sized ones." Flynn smiled slightly, looking a little hopeful as she suggested, "maybe... those chocolate covered pretzels, please? I love salty and sweet combined." She admitted; even without the cravings.
"I could surprise you one of these days." Flynn laughed as she looked up at him and then she shook her head, "Please don't, I very much love you just the way you are." She said with complete honesty. She hoped he never changed. He never made her have to guess what he was thinking or feeling, he was funny and sweet but sensible when she needed him to be, and he looked out for her and Liam, so good with her son she had no worries about him being a wonderful father. "I'm a farmer's son. What part of me did you think wouldn't be crass?" Which she should have guessed, but she pretended to be offended, "I just thought you'd think of our time together as something sweeter than that.." She was laying it on a little thick, sure he would see right through it.
"And I wouldn't change that for anything!" Flynn smiled and rested a hand briefly on her stomach, "good, or this would make for a very awkward afternoon." She teased. "Good to know." She watched him again for a moment, unable to help herself yet again, "don't worry babe, you are perfectly average." Which was a lie, he was better than in every aspect. She counted her lucky stars every morning for him being by her side. She pushed herself to a stand as he began to assemble the cot. "Can you please help balance this while I try and find the hole, you know, we have to find that right spot to put it in." She nodded as she went to take hold of the piece to keep it steady, glancing over at Bruce. "Well, there's only one hole, that's the correct hole..."
"Everything I do is for me, I just make you think that it's for you so that to think I keep my ego in check." She raised an eyebrow at that and glanced over at him, chewing on her last mouthful on bun in contemplation. "Is that so.." She mused. "I don't think it's working," She teased, though she was serious about him doing things for himself - pleasing yourself was a good way to help relationships to work, so that one person didn't feel taken advantage of, or like things were one-sided. She loved him, and his sweet gestures, but she liked to do some for him too, and wanted him to feel he could just do things he wanted to do. "But, if you tell me now, I could have the cupboards stocked up, just in case..?" She thought on it for a second, and then pulled a face, "I don't think I want pickled onions in the fridge though, right now the thought of them makes me feel ill. It's a lose-lose situation for you, my friend." She admitted with a sad smile. He made a good point, perhaps the chocolate pretzels could be possible - the peanut butter they already had but anything fresh might go to waste if she ended up not wanting it.
"I shall have to work on my poker face." Flynn laughed at the idea of it, "We both know that is never going to happen - and thank God for it too." She joked, but she did like how open he was and how easy it was for them to communicate. "Note to self, the cot needs to be plumb." She rolled her eyes but took another sip of her drink to avoid making a comment on this occasion. His laugh alerted her to her accidental innuendo and she flushed faintly with a quick grin. "Well, I can assure you that you do the last part well." She tilted her head, "What, screwing?" She teased this time, then tried to look serious. "What a crass term, and here I was thinking we were making love..." She just couldn't help herself, and she rested a hand on her stomach gently. "I guess that's what got us into this in the first place." Though she was not going to complain about the compliment. She put her drink aside and shifted closer so she could help pass him things. "Right, we need the longer screws first." Flynn raised a brow, preparing herself for whatever was about to come out of his pretty mouth. "And we all know that the length is what it's all about." She snorted, and her eyebrows rose as she met his gaze. "Actually, that's not quite correct. Girth factors into it plenty. You'll need both to be considered... impressive." She pressed her lips together to hold in a laugh as she located the screws he wanted and offered them over to him.
"I wouldn't expect anything else." She grinned in response but let it go, taking another sip of her hot chocolate instead. "I did it for me as much as for you." At that she smiled, she was glad he was still thinking of himself too - she didn't want the next several months to be all about her, as sweet as Bruce was, he still needed to think of himself and make sure that he was "Good, you should always do things for you," She reminded him, tucking into the bun and sitting back a little, straightening up. Her back ached a little from her position but she was comfortable enough. "Did you have any crazy cravings last time that I should know about?" She tilted her head as she thought back, imagining the cucumbers in peanut butter, the pickled onions by the jar full, the chocolate coated salty pretzels. She grinned slightly, "not necessarily crazy but a bit odd. I think I'll wait and surprise you with them." She teased, wondering if they would be the same this time around.
When he raised his hands in surrender she relaxed. "I didn't say a word." She nodded and made a noise of ascent, deciding to leave it as it was. "Maybe there is some truth in women being able to read minds. I might need to find my tin-foil hat." Flynn pretended to look shrewd. "Oh we can absolutely reads minds - but it's mostly because of how easy you are to read." She teased, his one look at the cot being out the bag had given it away a little. "I...I can't believe you said that! I read the instructions all the time, then I put them aside and see if I can do it better." She snorted at that, "So the baby's going to have a rocking cot? because it'll likely have unbalanced legs." She shook her head, finishing off her bun as he bowed. "Of course my dear, it was a slip of the tongue, I meant both of us putting it together. I thought I could start while you finish emptying the box." "it's fine," she promised, knowing he hadn't meant it in that way really. "I'm ready to help, I'll let you do the heavy lifting, but at least I can help pass the correct bits and do some screwing."
She heard the sound of his feet coming up the stairs and she smiled automatically; damn did this man have her heart. "I hope you used safety scissors." She rolled her eyes and gave him a look as he appeared in the doorway, "I ran around with them, holding the pointy end out first," She teased right back, returning his kiss. It might sound ridiculous, but she wouldn't actually do that anyway, but especially not now - she wasn't a complete idiot. "I bought sustenance...." She sat up a little straighter, immediately interested in what gifts he'd brought her - which seemed to be a thing at the moment, but she wasn't going to be upset about it.
"Okay, I bought straight sugar, but it's the same thing." She laughed softly at that and went to investigate, taking a sip of the hot chocolate straight away and making a hum of appreciation for the taste, and then she peered into the box. "Oh, you shouldn't have.. but thank you." She grinned, delving straight in for a bun. Her appetite had already picked up, and she'd found she had a sweeter tooth than ever thanks to her pregnancy. She knew it wouldn't be long before her brain started picking out odd things to eat too. She saw his look and she raised a brow, "Don't even..." She warned. She could move pieces of wood around without causing injury. Not only being a nurse, but having been through all this before made things easier on her - she knew her limits, she knew what was safe and what wasn't. She was careful enough. "Shall I start putting it together?" Her eyebrows shot up as he picked up the information sheet. "A man.. using instructions? Are you feeling okay?" She teased and then nodded, "We shall start putting it together..." She said pointedly. Fine, she'd let him do the damn lifting and manly things, but this was a together thing. Not a 'you can supervise' situation.
Flynn pursed her lips as she stared at the box. "Right... time to meet your maker." She bit her tongue gently in concentration as she picked up the scissors from the side table and carefully knelt down. Liam was at school, and she had a day off work. Bruce was due home any minute and she'd figured now was the perfect time to start preparing the baby's room. It was still a little early, she knew that.. but they were close to three months now, and she was feeling confident to tell people - so the idea of getting a few things on the go to avoid feeling rushed appealed to her. Bruce had typically not let her take the package upstairs, he had become almost unbearably protective, which she understood.. but at the same time she hadn't been able to help the eye rolls and occasional tuts. She'd survived pregnancy the first time round, she knew what she could and couldn't push.
She had figured scissors were okay to bring upstairs without her man's help, and she started attacking the packaging, slicing it open to reveal the new cot they had ordered. She didn't have anything from Liam's younger years left, having not had the space, she'd ended up selling or passing it on in the way. It was kind of exciting in a way, it meant that Bruce got to experience the excitement of buying new baby stuff too, which was sweet and something she was going to enjoy - the cot buying had been sweet enough. She began to pull out the pieces with care, putting the packages with the screws and such to one side, and the bigger wooden parts onto another. She had just unfolded the instructions when she heard the door. "I'm up here!" She called out, knowing he would be looking.
She was looking forward to the idea of meeting his family, at some point she knew Bruce would need to meet hers. She had been a bad child and not been home recently, so busy in life with everything going on. She made a point of calling and texting her family when she could to keep in touch, but she thought it probably was bad of her not to have taken Bruce home yet. There was no reason for it, she'd been happy in her little love bubble with him and Liam and she hadn't wanted to let anyone else in yet. But with another baby on the way, her parents would want to know and she would be proud to introduce them to Bruce - and Bruce to them. "I guess I should take you home too," She admitted with a small smile, knowing he would probably take it all in his stride as he always did.
"And I'll do the same." Flynn laughed softly, raising a brow as he looked to continue. "And by that, I don't mean arriving home with a baby animal." Then her eyes narrowed as she considering his words. "That is a very valid point..." She mused, "Well, it's not like you can't bring them home, just don't surprise me with them at the door?" Though they had already spoken about it before. She didn't mind baby animals, she just didn't like being accosted by a cute face at the door when her boyfriend came home. "I think getting called in the Whites' office would be similar to being called into the principal's office, and would be about just as enjoyable." Flynn gave a laugh at the thought and raised a brow, "It could be quite interesting, being called in like a little boy.. though why can I not imagine that Leo guy giving you a lecture?" She didn't ride but she knew enough about his work to know about his bosses and their general habits.
Flynn's eyes sparkled as she observed Bruce studying her, her lashes lowering slightly as the mood changed. "I think that sounds exactly like where we were." Flynn grinned, pleased that he agreed, and decided not to ruin the moment with more jokes. She reached for him as he did her, her hands resting on his chest, fingers curling slightly against his skin as she returned his kiss, shifting closer.
Flynn smiled in response to his grin - they were going to have to talk that through at some point, about going out to visit his family or something. She knew video calling was an option, and that was likely how he spoke to them most of the time, but she also wanted to see his childhood; where he grew up, the views he described, the beauty of the place, all the animals he talked of - and of course all family. She had time to take off work, so what better reason to take it than a family trip across the world? Liam would be beside himself with excitement, he had never been on a plane before.
"It's always good to be thrown a curveball every now and then though." Flynn laughed softly and nodded, "Alright then, I'll be sure to keep surprising you," She teased, though she really did mean it - she'd try and catch him out every now and then. They were really getting to know each other now, and she enjoyed that, loved the more that she got to know him, the more she just loved him - it was easy to love Bruce. She didn't comment further on the ring, and when he didn't either she tucked it out of her mind. That was not for now, for now the baby was enough of a surprise and a responsibility for her to handle.
She beamed at his laugh, reveling in the sound of it. "Could you imagine the scene I'd cause at work if the seams of my pants were held together with velcro?" She tilted her head as she did try to imagine the scene, "I guess you'd just have to be super careful?" Though perhaps not a good idea when around kids and all that to have worryingly easy to pull off clothing. Flynn shifted again so that he was able to lift his hips and remove his trousers; part of her was impressed by the speed and the grace of which he was able to to do it, but she decided not to comment. "Now, where were we?" Flynn gave Bruce a wolfish grin, noting that she was still a lot more dressed than Bruce and deciding to let him rectify that when he wanted. "I think you were about to kiss me," She said expectantly.
Her eyebrows raised at the laugh, wondering what was so funny about her words this time. "Wait till you meet them, your tune may change after that." Flynn grinned and shook her head. "I doubt that, I bet I'll love them all the more once I meet them." After all, they had brought Bruce up, and everything she had heard of his family, sounded like a wonderful group of people. She was looking forward to hopefully being a part of it, along with Liam. With the lack of contact from his dad, and that side of the family in general, he missed out on a lot. She would love for him to be included in the kind of life Bruce grew up with.
"Don't worry sweetheart, I know your mind is plenty dirty." Flynn grinned brightly, "Glad you know," She teased, well aware that they swapped innuendos back and forth frequently - one's that went above Liam's head for now - she enjoyed the humour of it, even when it got a bit silly. But Bruce always had a way of making her feel wanted, and she liked that. She'd been just a mum for quite a few years that she'd forgotten how to date, and what it felt like for a guy to look at her the way Bruce did. It was nice. "Maybe I should be getting a ring for your finger so that they know you aren't single."She flushed at the words, knowing Bruce was joking, but unable to help herself. They hadn't talked about marriage, and though her first one had gone horribly wrong and she'd thought before she might not want to try again, with Bruce she felt she would.
She raised a brow as he tugged at his shoulders, wondering what he was getting at - if he was about to play a game again. "And on the day I'm not wearing my Velcro shirt." She gave a soft laugh at that, shifting so that he could sit up to remove his shirt, ignoring it's trajectory across the room and feasting her eyes on her handsome boyfriend instead. She ran her hands across his chest with a grin, "And what about your trousers? Are they velcro?" She suggested, almost glad they weren't because she had a feeling Bruce would have way too much trouble with that kind of thing.
"I'm only speaking the truth." She blushed all the same. She liked to think she was a good mum but it was hard sometimes, especially if she was having a bad day and Liam was being difficult and she felt that she was getting everything wrong. She needed to hear these things, it made everything feel worth it and like she was doing something right. "Mum is going to adore you, and she'll take Liam under her wing as though he's always been part of the family." She smiled, "I really like the sound of your family, I can't wait to meet them." And she knew now that it would have to be sooner rather than later.
His innocent look wasn't quite working but she still thought it was cute. "In my defence, most of the time we're together as a family and our minds can't be in the gutter to set a good example, or we're too busy doing other things, that we don't need to have our minds in the gutter." She wrinkled her nose, "Okay, you make a good point but it's not like I've never proven to you that I have dirty thoughts!" She protested, despite being aware that he didn't think of her as some virgin Mary either. She thought it was sweet that he was so mindful in front of Liam, not many people bothered. "Is there a Doctor McStudly that I need to worry about?" Flynn chuckled, "No, just a McDreamy and McSteamy," She teased, thinking of the famous TV show she'd delved in and out of over the years. "Now I really need to keep an eye on what's under your pillow." Flynn laughed and gave him a wink, "I'll be sure to surprise you," As she thought of the weird and wonderful things she could hide under there to catch him out.
She'd been expecting more teasing, so the grin and apology were a little surprising. "I'm sorry, I'll behave. However, you're now thinking about what you want to do now, rather than worrying about things you don't need to worry about." Flynn rolled her eyes, though she was well aware that Bruce's heart was always 100% in the right place. "Well... don't behave too much," She said and then shrugged slightly, "You could have distracted me in better ways," She raised a slight eyebrow. "What can I do to... for you?" Flynn laughed softly and sat up, her hair falling over one shoulder. "No you had it right the first time. To me." She correctly. She was very much in the mindset that they were a partnership, a team, with give and take on both sides, but she was happy to be selfish every once in a while. "You can start by removing some clothing, you're not dressed appropriately."
She grinned when he kissed her. "That, my dear, is the kind of mum you are." apparently it was possible for her to blush and beam at the same time. "Thank you, you're too kind." She said softly. She turned her face slightly into the gentle caress, as always seeking out his touch. "Don't worry, they are all going to love you as much as I do." Flynn chuckled softly, "Just as much? That's quite a tall order," She teased, though she hoped he was right. She really did want to prove herself worthy of this amazing man's love and affection, and who better to prove it to than his family - the family he held in high esteem.
"Oh, I know you are quick witted. I just didn't know your mind was in the gutter as much as mine is." Flynn laughed and gave him a playful look, "you've known me how long and you didn't realise I had a dirty mind? Terrible!" She tsk'd jokingly, and made a mental note to let some more of her gutter brain out from time to time. "Don't worry hun, you're at the forefront of it most of the time." She teased again, unable to help herself. "I'll have to keep an eye on what's under your pillow." Flynn winked, wondering what things she could start hiding under there to catch him out. "Careful, you might not like what you find." She joked. "That sounds like the best way of spending a rainy weekend!" Flynn smiled brightly, pleased he was keen. When it rained heavy, as was England's go to weather, she had to admit it was nice to curl up on the sofa with her favourite boys and watch films. It sounded silly but she felt it'd be all the more special with new baby in tow. She made a mental note to make it happen the next rainy weekend.
Flynn snorted and rolled her eyes as he flopped, acting like a terrible rag doll. She tried to grab his arms to wiggle them about, "Nooo," She pouted, thinking her sexy ideas were fast being dashed away by Bruce's currently unsexy turn of humour. "I'm not at all tired, and would love to hear what you want." She sat up, looking down on him again in a considering way, "Are you going to keep playing with me or are you going to be nice now?" She asked, archng a brow as she wondered if he was going to play nice now or if she would have to go and ring up that other man she had hiding in the closet... not that there was one.
"The family dragon. She would happily take on a grizzly bear with her bare hands - not that we have them in NZ - and come out on top." Flynn grinned at the image it presented, a strong woman who could handle anything - she liked it. "That's the kind of mum I aspire to be," She admitted, knowing sometimes she was a little soft, a little scared. "Once you pass her inspection, you two will get on like a house on fire!" Her smile turned a little worried at the thought, "I really hope so." She admitted. Bruce thought highly of his family, and it was important for Flynn to get along with them. She wanted to make the best impression she could - even from overseas. Now they did have exciting news to share soon too she felt it was more important than ever she get along with them.
She grinned when he laughed, glad that his sense of humour was always so on par with hers. Besides, it was a lie anyway - she never needed anything more than Bruce. "Part of me thinks I should be offended by that comment, but the rest of me is so impressed with how quickly you came up with that reply." She gasped at that, "And now I think I should be offended that you don't recognise me as quick witted!" She teased in response. "Truce? I'll reach under the bed and end up embarrassing myself by pulling out some horse paraphernalia." Flynn grinned in triumph and then gave a slight nod, "alright, I'll allow a truce on this occasion - only because I'm not hiding anything under my pillow....right now." She admitted, so it wasn't as if she would win either.
"I was thinking more about you being intrigued on what I would do, rather than living in fear. If that's the case, if you need to wake me with a pillow smack, there will be no retaliation. Though, by all means, think of other ways to wake me that will entertain you. I am, after all, here to keep you entertained." He made it almost sound enticing - the surprise - but Flynn wasn't always good with them and she crinkled her nose. "I do like it when you remind me of that," She joked, though that was definitely not what he was there for - he was there to be beside her, not serving her. "I've been told to watch episodes four, five and six first. But if you're going to be there to explain the parts I don't understand, I'll be happy to watch them in whatever order you think is best." Flynn smiled and nodded, "They're right.. perhaps the next rainy day weekend we should all cuddle up and watch it?" She suggested, not wanting to waste the good weather but keen on the idea of it.
She grinned again when he stopped her from rolling away, returning her hands to his chest to rest. "Didn't realise I needed to put effort in, other than being here." Okay he'd caught her there, she was the one that had put him here.. but he'd offered her hours after all. "I need a little bit more than 'being here'," She rolled her eyes, "It's much more fun with an active participant... but I am looking for more than sleep which you didn't seem so interesting in a moment ago.." She reminded him, "Shall I tell you what I want right now?" She murmured, moving to go and kiss him and then pulling away before her lips could touch his.
She half expected him to try a challenge anyway, it was in his nature to be playful and to push her buttons a little - she didn't mind, she found it endearing, and most of the time funny. It was only the odd day that she wasn't in the mood for it and Bruce was good at picking up on that pretty damn fast. "Our mum was always better at that game too, so I know that you'll trump me any time." She laughed at that and gave a nod, "I can't wait to meet your mum, she sounds like one hell of a woman." And it was true - bringing up Bruce alongside his siblings must have been one hell of a handful but Bruce was a wonderful and respectful guy, and she'd like to meet the woman who helped make him who he was.
"Is that what you have under the pillow? I thought it was one of your toys." She quirked a brow at him and her lips threatened a smirk. "I mean, I've got one of those under there too." She winked. "It's always best to have one on standby for when I'm done with you." She couldn't help herself. Call it the excitement over her news and his reception to it - call it the Bruce effect. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours." Flynn straightened slightly. "Alright then, on the count of three?" She challenged, calling his bluff on this one - even with no toy or gun under her pillow. She held the pout despite his kiss. "It won't be an instant retaliation. I'd get you back at some point when you'd least expect it. If you hit me with a pillow once the baby has arrived, I'd be rolling out of the bed to see what bubs needs. And after that, you'll always be thinking 'what's he up to?'"
She hummed in consternation and then shook her head. "No dice, I'm not playing. I don't need to live in the fear, I'll find another fun way to wake you up that still entertains me." She decided, knowing that when it came to it, neither of them would be thinking much about anything other than screaming baby and how to quieten the noise. "One would have to have seen Star Wars to get the Leia reference. I've seen pictures of her in the outfit, but never seen the movies." She raised her brows, "That... we need to rectify." She was seeing a weekend marathon of Star Wars with her, Bruce and Liam cuddled on the sofa - drinks and popcorn. "I could totally see you as a naughty nurse!" She laughed, but what woman wouldn't feel that warm fuzz at those words - your man thinking of you as sexy. She'd have to see what she could do. "I'm here now, and he's not?" Flynn pressed her lips together and then went to roll away from Bruce, "It's not good enough, you're just not putting in the effort," She teased.
She watched his hang his head slightly and she hid a smile. "I see you have played the challenge game before. And from your answer, I be thinking you have won it more than I, so I shall bow out while I am ahead... or behind, as the case may be." Flynn laughed softly and patted Bruce's shoulder gently. "I have played the challenge game many a time, and I'm afraid I will beat you at it." She teased, though considering his amount of siblings and how it sounded like they might have been a bit of a handful, she figured he probably had a fair amount of tricks up his own sleeves.
"That's why I sleep on my non-dominant hand, so if anything does go bump in the night, I have my good one ready to reach for the bat under the bed!" Flynn tilted her head, "There's a bat under the bed? Damn, that almost trumps the shotgun under my pillow." She joked, having absolutely nothing of the sort. She had always been a peace-loving kind of person in life, the kind to try and mediate a fight and settle things before everything got heated. She couldn't imagine having to actually take a swing at someone, though she was sure if it was for her family she could do anything. Mother bear and cubs and all that. "I remember saying you could smack me. I don't remember saying there would be no retaliation." Flynn made a dismayed noise. "I don't think that's fair, now it doesn't sound half as fun."
Her grin slowly grew at his laugh. "It's normally the first thing that comes to mind when guys think of short skirts. Either a naughty maid or Nurse Joy from Pokémon." She burst out laughing at that, and then quickly covered her mouth to stop it so he didn't get offended. "I didn't expect a Pokemon character of all things. I was wondering Princess Leia, golden bikini." She chuckled again and shook her head. "How about...naughty nurse? With a short skirt?" She raised a brow. Not that her scrubs were naughty in any way. She was almost out of his reach when she felt him grab her arm, letting him pull her back onto the bed. "We evicted them, remember? And I'm sure I can be as indulging as you want." Flynn shifted, draping over him and resting her chin on his chest to peer at him. "Mmm I've got my guy on speed dial, and you didn't seem so interested a minute ago... how can I know this is a genuine offer?"
"And I'm here to reassure." She smiled brightly in response, "And you do it well." She promised him. "That's beginning to sound like a challenge. And I'm not one to turn down a challenge." Her expression turned wary as she looked at him. "It was definitely not a challenge, or I'll be making the challenge into something relating to 'how tidy can you be'." She warned in response, despite being aware he was playing. It reminded her somewhat of the days she could get away with 'who can keep quiet the longest' with her son. Sadly, those days didn't last long.
"Especially if either of us has pins and needles." Flynn laughed at the thought, knowing just how Bruce liked to sleep, "a great help you'd be if someone broke in," She teased, imagining him trying to hold up a dead arm to get someone out. She didn't honestly worry about those kinds of things though - the town was one of the safest she knew, especially this neighbourhood, and she knew that if something happened, Gizmo would protect them first. She narrowed her eyes at the snort and gave his arm a warning tap. "You can smack me with a pillow any time you like, but be prepared for retaliation." A finger pointed at him, "Oh no, you said I could hit you, you never said there's be rebuttal!"
She chuckled at the terrible attempt to curtsy. "Why thank you." She bowed slightly in response. "Maybe I can get you one of those naughty maid outfits..?" Flynn's eyebrows rose in surprise, "Is that what you dream about?" She teased, though honestly she had no idea with bringing his fantasies to life - especially something as easy as a cheeky outfit. She grinned as she hovered above him, drinking him in when stretched his arms above his head. "A nap is a wonderful idea! You have the best ideas!" A roll of her eyes at his joking. "Are you joining me, or are you just going to stand there?" Flynn tilted her head and then went to start moving away from the bed. "I didn't have sleeping in mind, but as you're too tired I'll go find someone else to indulge me..."
