Even with lessons off, Jameson 'Jamie' Hughs never missed a day at the barn. One, he generally loved being there with the smell of hay and manure along with the quiet wicker of the horses. Two, the young man knew his mother expected him to spend almost every living second with Fiver after she had purchased him for Jaime. It actually prompted him to get his part time job at Clover Lane Sheep Job, since Shelby Thomas said surprising him with the horse was the only cost she'd ever cover. His mother had been true to her word, and given she was helping with University, Jamie figured the least he could do was spend as much time with Fiver - a sacrifice he was always willing to make.
He found his gypsy vanner waiting for him in his stall, in preparations to keep the horses inside and cool during the day time summer heat before they were allowed back out to pasture to romp around, "Hey Fiver, let's get you out of that stall, shall we?" While he know that they should go out and practice some things that their coach, Aurora Sky, had requested of them, Jamie knew he had other ideas - specifically going for a hack. It was going to be far too hot to work in either arena, or so he told himself, and the idea of a nice jaunt through the forests sounded better. He placed in his last show, so he was fine, right? In the back of his nagging mind, the young man knew that wasn't enough, he knew better, but for today, he was feeling rebellious even with no friends or brother to encourage him.
After a quick brush and clean of Fiver's hooves, Jamie had him saddled up in his gear. Grabbing his helmet, he lead the horse out to the stationary mounting block for those who wanted to take on the trails and left. He was thankful that the competition between Blue Arces and Seven Oaks mostly died down, since it had opened up the trail access to everyone. Jamie didn't care to go back to those days either, and while he could get into the competitive spirit, it was always of friendly nature. It came no where near the hijinks of what some of the other riders had gotten into. The fact that it took an unsolved barn fire and horses nearly getting injured to kill it certainly had something.
Cool air hit the horse and rider now as they entered the forest path now, a welcome relief from the open fields where the sun could beat its rays down on them. Jamie half way allowed Fiver his head so that he could stretch out, but still kept his guard up. Jamie had learned the hard way one time that just because one was on a trail, that didn't meant that you could trust your horse and take a back seat. His fall had ended him in the hospital with a broken arm and plenty of time to study trail videos and read up on articles after that from Clinton Anderson. Horses always had to be working, even on trails. And speaking of working, it would appear that they were not the only ones on the trail today from Blue Arces.
Up ahead, he spotted a lesson horse he knew well enough from just hanging out at the barn: Sandman the Selle Français. However, he was fairy certain that was not the owner: Angél Petit. From his angle, he wasn't sure who was on him though, so he simply called out, "Hello! Fine day for a hack, right?" As the rider shifted in her saddle now, Jamie caught sight of her face: Dylan Williams. He actually didn't know much about her, other than seeing her in passing and knowing her name. She was cute, not the sort of cute that would make him stumble through his words thankfully, but cute none the less. He squeezed Fiver so they could ride up along aside the pair now, "It's Dylan, right? Dylan Williams? I'm Jamie, we both ride at the same barn."

It had been a long day, but Jameson "Jamie" Hughs had been pleased with it. Between placing fourth in his dressage class and doing two Gymkhana classes for shits and giggles, both he and Fiver were well warn out and there was still time to kill until it was time to trailer up and go. As far as he knew, his family hadn't come out to cheer him on from the crowds, but that that had been fine with him. They had their own lives and while the young man and his horse always appreciated the support, this had simply been a friendly show and didn't qualify towards rankings. Plus, with a few fumbles during all three of his classes, Jamie secretly had been thankful they hadn't been around to witness it, even if some of his fellow friends and riders had been.
"What do you say, Fiver? Time to head back to the trailer to relax and some well deserved hay?" he asked his gypsy vanner horse, who was always perfectly content to do just about anything, although this endless supply of grass had been hard to give him. Still, a gentle tug, and Fiver was ready to roll. They slowly made their way back to Blue Arce's hub of trailers, and Jamie could not help himself but to keep an eye out for the Kita-Ledor sisters. While only one competed, the other usually came to support, and he found that if you could find one, you could find the other. But he had no such luck, and buried whatever feelings he had on the matter.
He glanced at the time, certain that after he settled Fiver down with his hay, he might be able to convince somebody to keep his horse company while he caught the last classes for the day to support his fellow dressage riders as well his coach. One of Blue Arces, Molly Mac'Intosh, was passing by him on the way to the arena, and while they didn't ride in the same disciplines, "Good luck to you and Luna, Molly!" He called out, almost catching her off guard but she smiled at him nonetheless, "Thanks! OH! Someone's at the hub waiting for you!" She called out, before the teenager and her mare went on their way. Well, that startled Jamie, "Who could be waiting for us, Fiver?" Could it be whom he had been hoping to see earlier? Well, there was only one way to find out.
The Blue Arces Hub was approaching fast, and Jamie did his best to speed his plodding horse. When they got to their specific trailer, the young man almost did a double take. It was not a girl waiting for him, but a man. Nothing could have prepared him though for seeing this man though at one of his horse shows, "Dad?!" He stopped dead in his tracks, Fiver not taking the hint and kept on walking, snorting in annoyance as the direction suddenly changed as he was forced to pull inside. The look that the Gypsy Vanner somehow managed to pull off snapped Jamie back to reality as he approached the trailer to tie Fiver up, blue eyes curiously looking at his father, "What are you doing here?"

Face Claim Suggestions: Alex Aiono, Matthew Sato, and Chase Mana Kai are the suggested face claims, but Jac and I are flexiable
Personality: Rough and Tumble sort, but honestly, its completely open
Background: Oliver is the older brother to Jamenson aka Jamie. He is actually a half brother, but neither boy realizes that Jamie is the product of an affair on their mother's side since birth he has been passed off as Roman's son. Oliver and Jamie are close even though they have different personalities. Oliver, like Jamie, hasn't known Roman very well as he has been an absentee father for a majority of his life due ot being in the British Army then Special Forces.
Now, Roman, medically and honorably discharged from the Military, is easing himself back into the civilian life and trying to make amends by getting to know his sons. It is awkward has heck for both sons and father. Roman doesn't seem to get them and is trying too hard to bond, the sons are at a loss on how to bond and the forced feeling of the matter feels like a turn off.
How Oliver feels about all of this is up to you! He's ripe for family drama between dad and if the bombshell discovery of the affair ever happens. He is also allowed to have his own life and drama outside of the family though as you see fit =D
Feel free to DM me, Forever, or BlackJack on the SOS DISCORD should you be interested in Oliver.

the appearance
face claim• Jonah Hauer-King
identifying features• Still boyish looking and starkly taking after his mother, Jameson stands roughly at 6 foot 1 inches, putting him roughly two inches under his dad, much to his dismay. He jokes that his mother caused him to get some short genes. He tends to be a little bit on the paler side, but thanks to sun screen and time spent outside, he can rightfully call himself tan. He has a mop of curly dark brown hair, which he has been known to shave down to the skull in the summer time depending if the helmet sweat causes him to loose concentration in the arena. Jameson's blue eyes are a stark contrast against his skin and hair, therefore he claims they are his best features. He's not always the cleanest shaven when he's busy with school work or show work, but he does his best to keep the facial shadows in check. He's lean, unable to achieve the beefcake look that his dad has going on much to his annoyance. Whatever, the ladies like a lean guy.

Mainly because he feels like it he's some sort of push over or destined forever to be a friend zoned kind of guy. Despite that though, Jameson finds it hard to argue with the term. He is very kind, a trait that he uses both with animals and people, and tends to have a rather strong moral compass which he stays true to. Jameson supposes that makes him a 'sensitive soul'. He believes in being kind to everyone, except when it means being top student or rider, then well, any challenge thrown at him will be accepted with a fiery brand of niceness. Jameson often feels very passionate about things he loves, whether its animals, his studies, or brain teasers, he likes to find joy. He's also very keen on exploring and experimenting with situations, whether its studying, riding, or simply a game of strategy, Jameson believes trial and error will always bring out the best situation rather than simply studying one way for hours. Jameson is observant to a degree, he feels like he has to be if he wants to work with animals, and tries to hone that skill as he moves through University. He can have a rebellious streak, mainly when it comes to his parents, siblings, or girls that he likes although he does his best to keep it in check. Jameson isn't a fan of his parents being in the same room together, and one on one time tends to be hard as well, especially when his brother isn't around. The ins and outs of his father in his life has made him awkward with Roman, and Shelby doesn't help, but Jameson is old enough to understand that not everyone or everything is perfect. He acknowledges that his dad is making an effort to get to know him, but sometimes it feels forced or faked, which then puts Jameson off of hanging out.
the history
father • Aiden Christian Wellington, 37, Personal Trainer (Biological Father); Roman Aleksandr Hughs , 38, Ex British Special Forces (Raised as Own; Both Father and Son do not know they’re not related) mother • Shelby Nadine Thomas, 37, Personal Trainer & Nutritionist siblings • Oliver Hughs, 19 important people • Sabrina Kita-Ledor, 18, Student (Rival (Potential Crush) – Horse Shows & Vet Classes) hometown • Hickstead, England, UK overall history • Jamenson's life unfortunately began before he was born, when one Shelby Thomas was frustrated with her then fiancé, Roman Hughs, over his intention to join the British Army. She knew that her future father-in-law didn't respect her and wanted Roman to leave her, and Shelby was growing heated that she was losing her grip on keeping him in Hickstead. Everyone could see it, even if Shelby and Roman pretended to be oblivious to it. She hit her breaking point one night though after months of an emotional affair with one of her closest confidants and coworkers. Aiden Wellington told her how much he cared for her and that it wasn't fair that a woman like herself was being put through her situation. Shelby gave into her loneliness and yearnings one night while late at work and Roman was watching their first born, Oliver.
Unfortunately for Shelby, it didn't stop there, and it wasn't long before after two months of her affair with Aiden, did she discover that she was pregnant. She decided to do what was best for herself and inform Roman that it was his child, and left Aiden out of it, not wanting to further complicate her situation. In the back of her mind, Shelby hoped that this second child would convince Roman to stay and not leave. However, it did the opposite and only furthered her fiancé's resolve that he should in fact, join British Army for the money, which simply lead to more arguing. Both adults too prideful to give in, but Shelby lost in the end, not by her giving up but by Roman giving in to pleasing his father - a man that Shelby never cared for anyways. Knowing fully where she stood in Roman's life when he left, she vowed that when she next saw him, they would be done.
And so that happened, not without the surprise of Roman actually showing up for Jameson's birth (and as a small dig, named after his biological father's favorite whisky), but Roman's presence could not change Shelby's mind. Her affair would no longer be an affair in her mind, and she was done being second fiddle to Roman's father and the toll that the Army would place on their family. She explained it as such to her now ex-fiancé, her words being he clearly loved the concept of wanting to die" and that he "had to give that ring to Death". She wasn't so cruel as to not allowing him to see their children though, Shelby would allow it if he wanted it and explained it as such, but little did she know that it would be a long time before that became a reality.
Shelby kept her involvement with Aiden quiet, though now legitimate, it was hard to deny as Jameson grew that he had nothing of Roman Hughs in him. Yes, Shelby said that her genetics had been strong with her second son, and technically, it was not a lie. Even when Aiden would bring it up, she would deny it, but as the kids grew older, she allowed him into their home as Mum's 'special friend'. Jameson grew up with his brother hardly knowing his father, there were letters and gifts on occasion, and his mother did her best to explain why he wasn't around without seeming bitter, although it was hard to shake it from her voice. Jameson grew accustomed to the absence though. He had his mum and older brother, and on occasion, Aiden. There was little more than he needed.
From a young age, Jameson had always been the sweet one of the two boys. He loved animals, the sounds they made being their first words over Mum-Mum or Oli or Aiden. Jameson was always fascinated by them. He wanted to pet every dog and cat he saw, even the geese (although that never ended well). His life in Hickstead eventually lead to ponies and then horses as well. He was also clever, always wanting to sort things out on his own. Refusing help from everyone in his life, and if they tried to help, well, that's when the tantrums started. When he wasn't obsession over animals or doing activities with them, he was playing with a rubix cube or building puzzles. Shelby truthfully thought like most boys, he'd grow out of these things and become the rough and tumble sort like his brother, but he never did. Jameson remained both sweet and an animal lover.
The few times when younger he spent with Roman felt awkward, and it only became more awkward the less frequent they became. And as he grew older and into his looks, it became more apparent every time he saw Roman that he looked nothing like him, just his mum. Oliver teased him that maybe Aiden was his father instead, jokingly of course, mainly because he loved the appalled look Jamenson always got on his face before being told to 'fuck off' and 'dad was his dad', neverminded the two of them could hardly hold a conversation with their dad. Years came and went, Jameson got into competition locally in Hickstead (and doing well whenever Sabrina Kita-Ledor isn't around) and graduated secondary, getting into the local pre-vet program at Hickstead University. Everything seemed to be going his way.
Shockingly though, recently, his father started showing back up in his life. 'Retired' from the Army, with some new scars to boot. Que the awkwardness again, and the weird reminder on how he doesn't look like his father. Despite this, Jameson secretly appreciated Roman attempting to get to know him and Oliver again, even though it proves to be painful for the both of them every time they meet up.
