That guilt feeling was gnawing at Perry. Yeah, it was clawing now – drawing blood and if it was real, Perry knew he would’ve been dead with blood loss. He stayed silent, hoping that the sound of him chewing his lip wouldn’t be heard. Perry was about to say something before the sound of rain pattering on the water could be heard.
“The staff here will do our best to reach out to him.” Perry wanted to promise, but he knew better. “If you could please hold, I will get someone to try and radio. And we will attempt to use the telescope to spot him. He should be visible by now.” The young man didn’t even bother to let the man named Eli say yes or no. He put the office phone on hold faster than a teen boy found his dad’s adult magazines.
“Hey, Christian!” Perry called, visible panic on his face. “Can you try and get boss on the radio? The weather just-“ A loud crack of thunder shattered through the air. “Fuck, fuck!” Perry wavered, fumbling to find a telescope. But he knew. He knew he wouldn’t be able to see anything.
Perry had almost began falling asleep at work. He was on shift with Christian since their boss had went and did the run of materials for Perkin. Perry almost volunteered himself but staying warm felt more important than avoiding people.
Did Cal leave him something to do? What was it? Oh, right, call this dude named Eli to let him know where he was going. Perry didn't know what that meant and why he had to do it, but whatever. Perry knew reception on the water wasn't ideal.
Perry picked up the phone and dialed the phone number Cal left him. His boss usually had a good wits about him but he appeared to be in a rush. Almost too rushed. The phone rang and Perry just hoped the person wouldn't pick up. He was better at leaving a message.
But when the call was answered, Perry bit his lip. "HI, This is Perry from the Marina. I have a message for Eli Acres from Caleb Dorsey. He had to do a supply run to Perkin. He should be back by-" He stopped to look at the time. Fuck, he screwed up. This message was supposed to happen hours ago. "Roughly 13:00 hours (1 pm)." That was an hour away. For once, Perry felt guilty. He didn't know why, but he had a feeling that he rarely ever felt. His natural reaction was ro hang up, but he stayed on the line - wanting to hear if he even had the right person.

Emily is the unknown mother to Elodie and Perry. When she fell pregnant with them, she wanted to keep the children. Her parents refused, as their daughter's professional ballet career was more important to them.
She continued her parent's dream and became a principal at the Royal Ballet company. She retired as a professional dancer at 35 and began a DNA trail to search for her kids. Hoping that they were still in Hicsktead, Emily moved back to her hometown and opened a dance studio in hopes to reconnect.

Patrick is the deadbeat dad of Perry and Elodie. He got his friend, Emily, pregnant after a drunk night party. Emily fought for the kids - but her parents refused, leaving Patrick with the twins. He left his kids in the care of his mother, as he bounced as a father figure. The reason why he left Hickstead is completely open. Same with the reason he came back.
His occupation is open, as is much of his background.

Elodie is Perry's twin sister. She's a feisty gal, who is more open about her true self than her brother. Unlike Perry, she doesn't strive for their dad's approval - as she gave up on him years ago.
She works part-time at the family craft store but can be a student or have another job as well.

the history
father • Patrick, 40, alive - location unknown mother • unknown siblings • Elodie Whitlock, 21 important people • Marina Whitlock, 62, Grandma hometown • Hickstead, UK overall history • Perry and Elodie were born to Patrick and an unknown woman. Patrick, never took the fatherly role, leaving his children to be taken care of by his mother, Marina. Growing up, Perry tried his best to connect with his dad, often leading him to steal things to get the approval of his father. It never worked. Birthdays were always missed, and Perry was left disappointed.
Elodie got over the fact that her father was never around, but Perry still yearns for that fatherly connection. While he loves his grandmother, Perry wants a male figure in his life. It’s destroyed a lot of relationships, as he’s never felt grounded. The reality that his father never loved him, didn’t hit him until Patrick left Hickstead without a goodbye when the children were twelve. Patrick left two letters, pretty much saying he was disappointed in his kids and that Perry and Elodie would never be upstanding people in society.
Life went on, and Perry struggled through high school. While he sought comfort in crafting and voice acting, things he picked up from his grandma and her sisters – he never shows that to the outside world. The trauma of Patrick telling him he’ll never be good enough haunts him to this day. He decided against the university as he was conflicted on subjects.
He only got the job repairing sails when a friend of his grandma’s brought up a job at the docks. Viewing it as a manly man’s job, Perry took it. While the job is sewing, it was a different kind of sewing. Something that gave him callouses, not simple needle pricks to his fingers.
Perry continues to work on the docks and will stock the shelves at his grandma’s craft store. Out of sight that is. His grandma and Elodie think it’s ridiculous for him to hide such amazing talents, but Perry just shrugs their comments off.
Maybe one day, he’ll accept that he’ll never need his deadbeat dad’s approval.
