Welcome to Hickstead, home to both Seven Oak Stables, and Blue Acre - two rival stables. Both offer opportunities for their clients to reach the highest level of excellence. Each stable differs from the other, so choose wisely and never forget, loyalty is everything... Meanwhile as the stables battle it out, there's trouble brewing at the university. Be careful, if you don't pick a side you may get caught in the cross-fire...

Cora had to admit she had gone in a little bit blind with buying Capulet. She was fooling herself if she was thinking that her parents didn't know she was here. She wasn't stupid enough to think that her bodyguards weren't firmly on her parents side despite the hefty sum she'd given them to keep her location private; if only for a short while. Maybe they had to start with, but they weren't under her employment, nor were they under her loyalty - not really. She had been given a little peace, and so far nobody had come to try and drag her back to her Princessly duties but it was only a matter of time. She was appeasing her parents by keeping out of the headlines and not doing anything stupid, and she was working on a fundraiser for her newest charity, but she hadn't spoken with them - nor them her - she hadn't been home, hadn't spoken with her siblings or been involved in anything royalty related for a little while. It was nice, but it made her feel like an ostrich; at some point she'd have to pull her head out the sand.
But they hadn't bothered her - that was the main thing - and even after purchasing her new horse - nobody had questioned it, or stopped payment. She might have her own bank accounts but she wasn't stupid enough to think that her parent's wouldn't keep tabs on her spending - what and where. It felt like having someone standing behind your shoulder, all the. damn. time. Painful. She hadn't been able to get away from her guards since the other night - and she was starting to go stir crazy. She wanted to go out and drink, but as she'd escaped them last week, they had not been quite so easy to escape. Even now she knew they were there, just out of sight, just on the edge of her vision - but she could never quite catch sight of them. Her horse was one of the few things keeping her sane. She missed her horses from home, but she didn't want to move them, so she'd gone and brought a new horse - money and all that. She had thrown herself at the horse and keeping busy with him alongside her charity function - but it wasn't quite enough.
She had looked into local farrier's, but one of the other stable liveries had been the one to suggest she contact the Blue Acre farrier - apparently Naomi hired him to do the lesson horses and her own private one's, so Cora figured he had to have some decent reputation if she allowed him to come back. Naomi seemed particular - she liked that about her. So she'd sent the guy a text. She'd meant to ring, and she would have normally, but she'd kept getting busy and she needed to make sure someone was able to come and check out Capulet before his feet got too long. He was meant to be good to do but she wanted to be here in case he was difficult, and to make sure she met the farrier and liked him. Capulet was half dozing, resting a back hoof as she hovered by his stable for the farrier to arrive, and she glanced at her phone to check the time - again. One minute away from being late...

Cora lived a rather uneventful life... well, no that's a life, but she wished it could be true. She was born to royalty - her father was the third eldest of five sons born as Grandson to the Queen of England. For him, it meant he was highly unlikely to be picking up the crown any time soon, but it did mean he grew up heavily in the public eye. He was arranged to marry Charlotte, who was deemed an appropriate enough union, becoming a Princess in her own right through the marriage. Together they had four children - two boys, and two girls, with Cora being the third of the bunch. She grew up barely knowing her parents, other than for lessons in royalty and discipline, she rarely felt affection from them. Her care was generally left to the household nannies, who had aided in the bringing up of all the siblings. Her young life was spent learning the difficulties and formalities that came with her title of 'Lady'; and the movies make it much more fun than it was. From lessons on conduct and etiquette in amgonst the hours of 'general' schooling, Cora grew up an incredibly intelligent and well versed young woman in all areas of knowledge; fluent in four languages, excelled at Maths, Geography, history and culture etc.
The issue was that Cora never wanted to be royalty. Whilst she never lacked for anything, and did not miss out on a childhood exactly, she never got to be normal. She didn't make many friends, the only other children she met being her siblings or the other royal children, and her parents were always busy, rarely seen except for occasions and meal times - most of the time. She hated the constraints of her life, never able to go anywhere without body guards, if her schedule would have even allowed her to go anyway that wasn't already authorised by her parents. She hated all the standing and waving, feeling that her life was spent being prim, proper and just something pretty to look at - useless. She was able to get off to university at Cambridge, and briefly enjoyed some sort of freedom, though she didn't get to pick her own topics - law, politics and languages would not have been her top choices but she came away with a first in all regardless.
Back at home following her less-than-wild time at uni, Cora began to push back. She hated being back under the thumb, and the fact that she couldn't even step out to go shopping without shadows, without paparazzi following, without her parents slapping her on the wrist for every time she even breathed wrong. In order to try and distance herself and give herself a little room, she got into charity work. She liked helping people, and would splash the every flowing cash extravagantly to help any cause she could get her hands on - throwing fundraising balls and galas, giving healthy donations to struggling charities. It even managed to allow her to get out to other countries and get her hands dirty - putting up shelters, buildings, fresh water to third world countries. But she was dragged home every time eventually to fore-fill her duties in the family. More recently, her parents have been discussing finding her a match for marriage - with both her brothers now married off, she has no excuse to hide behind. Trying to find a way to escape before they could force her down the isle, Cora found a smaller cause for interest and took off to Hickstead - home of the horse people - where she might be able to help following the catastrophic barn fire.
