HEY THERE! my name is Cara and i'm 20 something years old.
i'm a wiminz and i've been roleplaying for too many years.
but enough about me, here's my character. =]

markings: blaze and four stockings, plus tobiano markings

height: 16hh

breed: Gypsy Vanner

sire and dam: dam: Hidden Dream; sire: Tonka’s Stallion

siblings: Unknown

brief history: Ash’s parents were chosen for both their bloodlines and their temperament and the mare’s owners were pleased when the filly arrived, as she had her dam’s colouring and it seemed that she had their gentle disposition, which made handling her and training her super easy.

Hoping for another easy foal, they put Ash to a stallion, a lot like her dam, at two years of age. Sadly, the mare miscarried early in the pregnancy. As soon as the vet said it was alright, they put her to the same stallion again, this time the mare carried the foal to full term, however she birthed a still born colt. At their wits end, the owners put the mare up for sale, advertising her as a foster mare, as she was lactating and they didn’t have any friends who needed a nurse-mare.

Her dam was an eventer and her sire a hunter jumper, so there is a chance that Ash could follow in their footsteps.

Storms – she hates thunder and lightning (more so the lightning)

Hangs over her stall door and flaps her lips
Will step over a puddle rather then walking through it
Digs up her bedding "remaking" the bed.

overall personality:
Ash isn't a very touchy-feely kind of horse, she enjoys the odd pat or rub, but if you over-do it, she’ll be the first to let you know. She won’t bite or kick, but has found that giving people a good flick with her tail gives them the hint if stepping away doesn't tell them. She sometimes has the habit of treating her rider as though the person on her back is her baby, if you fall off, she will do everything in her power not to step on them. She loves the rain, but she loves to be clean, so you don’t have to worry about her rolling in mud puddles, and because she likes to stay clean, this makes her easy to groom. When released in the pasture, there is never worry about catching her, as she will canter right up to her person as soon as she sees them – which can be a little daunting at first – but she always stops before she collides with them. All in all, she’s a little sweetie, she will do anything for her rider, and will try her hardest to so whatever is being asked of her. [/font][/ul]

age: seven (15th March 2007)

gender: gelding

colour: homozygous bay tobiano

markings: blaze and tobiano markings

height: 16.3

breed: Dutch Warmblood

sire and dam: Congarie(dam), Dorn(sire)

siblings: Peak (half brother), Kiawa (sister), Merietta (half-sister)

owned by: Bruce Ropata

brief history: Fain was born at a well established Dutch Warmblood stud farm. He was handled from birth, and remained at his dam's side until he was weaned at seven months. His training went pretty straight forward, though he had always been a pretty tall baby, as was routine at the farm, he was worked on the ground until he was four, then was started under the saddle, a year later he was sold, gelded, and his life as a show horse began.

Fain seemed to shine in the arena, but his real passion seemed to be in cross country, though he was trained as an eventer so that is what his owners' daughter did with him, though she had more arguments with the gelding than she had nice rides, as she had always been taught to do the thinking for the horse, and while Fain liked to do his own thinking, they quite often clashed.

It was after she was thrown at a large show that the family decided it was time to say farewell to the gelding. [/ul]

[/font]:[/b] Oreos, water, hacking, rolling once he's been braided up for a show, vet, ponies, cross country

dislikes: lightning, flashing lights, farrier,

strengths: can think for himself, respectful,

weaknesses: resentful when his rider thinks that they know better then Fain, stubborn

fears: cellophane, plastic or anything else that makes weird crackle noises.

habits: tosses his head a lot (because he can), dunks his hay in water when eating in his stall (again, because he can), will let his handler get within touching distance in the pasture before taking off.

overall personality: Fain comes across as the perfect first horse, he seems to be as bombproof as can be, he doesn't need a rider who has to do all the thinking, though it's when you get under the surface that you realised that this horse needs a person who knows what they are doing, both in the saddle and on the ground.

When being ridden he needs a rider who will trust the gelding's judgement as well as offer their own input (he prefers a partnership). On the ground, while respectful, he can be a little headstrong at times, comes from being gelded after being a stallion for two years.

When all is said and done though, Fain is a lovely horse. He is happier to be grazed with ponies ('cause he's so small), keeping to himself if put out with larger horses. Though it can seem that he is watching you while being groomed and trying to work out the reason why you think you have to be doing it.[/ul][/font]
