elicity was thankful her coworkers got China ready for her after she put Jasper away in his private stallion pen. She had agreed to ride an extra horse for that said coworker, which led to the young chestnut mare being ready in a free cross tie. "Thank you for doing this for me." She said, sliding the dressage bridle over the mare's head before doing up the various straps.
The groom simply nodded before going along their way. She double checked her tack before leading the mare towards the outdoor arena. As it was September, the crisp Fall air was among them, but that didn't bother either of them. China only had a few rides under her belt, but so far she was coming along nicely. She led the mare towards the arena, waving at other riders she passed along the way.
Quickly arriving at the arena, Felicity tightened the dressage girth, rolled down her stirrups and got on gently. The mare took a step forward before she was completely in the saddle - causing the rider to shake her head. She jumped off the back of the mare and backed her up. The blonde let out a sigh before trying again - the mare standing still this time. Feli reached into her pocket and pulled out a mint, giving it to the mare before allowing her to walk forward once her weight was in the saddle.
"That's what I want." Her hand reached down and gave the mare a scratch with her gloved hand.
Huntley Llewellyn had finished up in the indoor arena, putting away jumping fences and poles off to the corner as his three young riders bid him farewell to go take care of their horses. No longer did they need him to hold their hands through untacking and brushing down their horses. He dropped one final pole down over in the side of the arena, and then glanced at his wrist, noticing the time. How did it get away from him? Granted, Huntley supposed that happened often if one were to ask a family member, even Esther had caught him checked out once or twice in his own thoughts.
"Might as well go pull Monty," he muttered to himself, brushing his hands free of the dirt before heading off to the pastures. He had no students for the next two hours, it was time for him to just enjoy some time with his horse. Time with Monty lately had felt few and far in-between with the fall shows. Thankfully, they were starting to slow down for the winter, but Huntley had never thought that getting a teaching job at Blue Arces would have eaten into his personal time quite as it did. Reaching the pastures, he gave as whistle, and Monty came storming up to the fence now, ears forward and happy to see his human.
A smile rested on his lips, whispering sweet nothings to cobb friesian cross, slipping the halter over his head and leading Monty out now. Figuring they would take a good stroll around the property before to the cross ties, the pair went a non traditional route back to the main arena. Passing by the arena, green eyes caught sight of a horse and rider pair now practicing what looked like the mounting block. Huntley paused, staring intently now as Monty idled standing besides him. After a moment, Huntley called out, "You're the new girl, aren't you?!" Well, at least he wasn't the lowest on the teacher totem pole anymore.
the stars are pointing my way from quarter of the globe away and yet I feel so astray - how did I get so lost?
