Ah the summer fair. Tiffany Matthew had been looking forward to attending the summer's long even ever since the posters started popping up - half 4H and half renaissance, it was pretty hard to go wrong. She made sure that her parents were good to go with her absence for the next few hours, everything was set up for them - vials, labels, her dad already hooked up to the chemo - before they shooed her out. Taking the mini cooper out, a mere forty minutes later, Tiffany was parking the car and she was getting out. It already looked packed as she made her way through the fields of cars, brown eyes keep a look out for any familiar vehicles.
Tickets in hand though, she was let through the entrance and back into time. Tiffany felt a bit out of place with her shorts and Budweiser shirt, hardly fitting the theme that the merchants and several participants appeared to be sporting. The young woman supposed that didn't mind though, who cared what she looked like as long as she spent her hard earned english pounds on beer and turkey legs? Tiffany was on a mission now as she made her way over to Pirate's Bounty, snagging herself both a turkey leg and a lager. With one in each hand, she began to wander.
Although it wasn't too long before she spotted a familiar face. At first, Tiffany beamed as she ran over, doing her best to not slog her beer everywhere, "Steph! Steph! How are--" And then one look of her face made her switch sentences almost immediately, "Okay - what's wrong? Do I need to go beat someone up?"
Stephanie sat in her car, sniffling back tears. She couldn't cry in front of her friend. It was just about a stupid boy anyway - she was realizing why her relationships weren't working out. She pulled out a tissue, dabbing her under eye area gently as she bottled her emotions up again. This was meant to be an enjoyable outing - a distraction if you will.
She checked her facial expression, practicing her usual smile a few times before heading out of the car, locking it behind her as she headed towards the Summer Fair. It didn't take her long to find Tiffany, who already had a beer in her hand. The woman gave her friend a small smile, usually be laughing at the sight. "Hey you. Getting drunk without me are we?" She tried mustering up her usual tone of voice, but it was clear that Tiffany could tell something was up.
"Please don't beat him up. I've just come to a realization, that's all. Have you had that feeling of having a crush on someone you know but you know a relationship won't ever happen?" She knew it wasn't worth hiding, though the fact it was her friend's brother made it more awkward.
"You may want to finish that Beer before you drop it in shock or something." She chuckled, glad she was smiling for the first time all day. Her students even commented at her mood, though she was able to brush them off. "Let's go get some food though too. I haven't really felt like eating all day." The woman gave her friend a half hug, wanting to avoid getting beer on her outfit.
