I'd never given much though to how I would die. But dying in place of someone I love, seems like a good way to go.
An ugly heat wave seemed to be hitting the United Kingdom, and Hickstead was not spared from it. Anastasia Cavellier was dying, and the house she shared with her newfound mother was not cutting it. So instead of hanging out at home to melt, she decided to head down to the beach to cool off. While Beth seemed hesitant at first, the teenager managed to spin it in a way that it sounded safe - nevermind that she didn't know how to swim. She'd stay at the edge, and wouldn't go deep into the water. What was the worst thing that could happen? Nothing, that's what.
The beach shockingly, didn't seem too crowded, but either she had gotten there early before the rest of the crowds, or they preferred to stay inside with their ice cubes rather than find a more fun way to cool off. The fifteen year old could feel the sun already beating down upon her though, so she was quick to dump her bag and towel unceremoniously on the sand before stripping down to her bikini. For a moment, Ana felt odd, exposed. Her blue eyes darted around, where their creepy people about? Nobody seemed to be paying her any mind though, and the fifteen year old relaxed. With that, she awkwardly jogged to the water's edge now, sticking a toe in before wadding in more.
Did she look like an american baywatch babe? Or did she just look like the gangly fifteen year old that she was? Ana couldn't decide - what did she want anyways? Both sounded ideal - sexy and curvy, to be wanted, or awkward and gangly, to repel. Step by step, she went in further and further as the waves beckoned her like a siren song, and her cascading 90 kilometer a minute thoughts paid no attention to the crashing waves. There were far more important things on her mind like -- "Achk!" Seaweed wrapped her, causing her to balk at the unexpected feeling that hit her legs, causing her to topple over as a wave surged and pulled her back.
She tumbled in the strong waves, being ripped out to sea when a thought occured to Ana - she didn't know how to fucking swim. Her hands and arms waved wildly, "Help! Help! I can't-" But just like that, she was pulled back under, the waves beating her as she hit something with her head. The pain was awful, black spots danced across his eyes as she clawed at nothing but bubbles and liquid - panic seizing her even more now than before. Was she going to die? Did she literally escape her horrible father, no, wait, Dr. Robinson, and be reunited with her mother only to die in the ocean?
Elodie was looking forward to the ocean water on her skin. She was lucky to have the ocean outside of her house, literally. Her cottage was secluded enough that at night she could swim in her birthday suit. She was a strong swimmer but she wasn’t stupid. With possible hard winds in the evening, Elodie was able to find some time in the afternoon.
She drove to the docks, only because Elodie wanted to play mermaid. Her brother was on his lunch break and would be helping her get into it. Once Elodie saw Perry, she lubed up her legs and Perry helped her shimmy into her tail. After she had everything on, Elodie rolled off, plopping into the water like a seal. After Perry made sure she was out of the way of any incoming boats, Elodie swam towards the beachside.
Her swim was fun, her tail gliding her through the cooling water. As she was working on her dives – Elodie heard thrashing. Her eyes picked up someone struggling and she swam as quickly as she could, using her arms and her abs to push her forward. Ignoring the softer lines of a usual mermaid swim. Despite the water's darkness, Elodie could see through it as much as she could after years of training.
Hands grabbed under the person's armpits, and Elodie gently but quickly brought them up to the surface at an angle. Elodie took a deep breath in, using all her strength to swim the person to the shore, which wasn’t far. Her silicone tail grazed on the pebbles as she scooted up, hoping nothing was getting damaged.
