eing dragged along to yet another party by Harper and Gwyn was something he was finally getting used to. The Lounge was hosting a Halloween party, which both of them insisted he go to. After the party with his class, he really just wanted a night to himself. He had forgotten how draining it was on him, but he also needed a night to let go and have fun.
It had been awhile since Harper and himself had hung out with Gwyn, so it was also time for a catchup session. He got himself ready after work and headed out the door, agreeing with both Harper and Gwyn that he would meet them there. He had made himself their DD, knowing that he wasn't going to drink much. Ever since his hard core partying days were over, alcohol didn't taste the same. His costume was something he came up with while shopping at the store - glad he had someone younger to help him out.
Once he arrived, he pushed the door open. The music was already going strong as he glanced around for either Harper or Gwyn. It wasn't long before he recognized Harper's bright hair and he headed over to her. "Hello, looks like everyone started without me. How's it going here so far? Gwyn shouldn't be too much longer." He had gotten a text from her before he left saying that she was late leaving her place.
It was funny. Growing up, Gwyn Knight had never thought much of Halloween. She always thought it was just a silly American tradition. That, and quite frankly, the fun police at her household wouldn't allow such things because it 'encouraged bad behavior', but now, the young woman loved it. The idea of dressing up and being someone else for a night, or at least, dress wildly for a night, always had a fun ring to it. And who better than to spend it with than her two best friends Aaron Stonehouse and Harper Jones? Plus, it was at the R&R Nightclub, which meant discount drinks thanks to not one but two bar tenders - Harper herself and Chris White. While Gwyn didn't have herself a date, Harley was busy with mid exams, that wouldn't stop the young woman from having fun.
She was all dressed up now in a mermaid dress, equipped with a red wig and a crab shaped purse. As always, Gwyn was running late, but it had become her specialty now and thankfully, both of her best friends just expected that. Wishing her uncle a good night, and confirming that he didn't need her for anything else, the young woman headed out the door and grabbed a cab. In the car, Gwyn sent a qucik text that she was on her way. No small talk was made inside of the car, and that was perfectly fine with her, as they went from Oldaker to Downtown Hickstead, and it wasn't long before R&R came into view and it's fucking line, "Ughs," she muttered under her breath, as she paid the cabbie.
Thankfully, one of the bouncers recognized her, or perhaps, Harper or Chris had put in a notice. Either way, she got to skip the crowd and headed inside. The music was already pounding, and people were either dancing or mingling. Gwyn knew exactly where her friends were though, and she made a beeline to the bar now where sure enough, Harper and Aaron resided, "This Little Mermaid got to skip the line, so I thank thee for whomever put in the good word for me." She said with a grin now, "And you two are looking quite sharp yourselves if I do say so myself."
Harper was looking forward to being out tonight. She wasn’t working, but she still would be at work. It was a shame that she couldn’t exactly escape it, but it was hard to avoid when they had some of the best parties out there. Plus, Harper was meeting her friends there. They hadn’t seen each other for a bit due to work. Things had begun getting busier and busier.
She didn’t quite know what to dress up as, as there wasn’t exactly a theme. Halloween was a free for all, but the nightclub wasn’t like the lounge. Esther had an elegant thing going on, while the club was more about showing up in whatever and having fun.
It took her a bit, but she managed to find something suitable to pull together. The color palette was a bit more pale than she usually did, but it fit her skin and the theme. After making sure she was dressed and ready, Harper was quick to find her group. She shortly found out that she was the first one and grabbed a spot.
Aaron had come first, then Gwyn. “Hello, Ghouls!” Harper grinned. “I got us some lemon drops to start. My treat.” It did help that she had a solid discount, after all. “Look at us. A menagerie of fun, huh? I hope y’all are ready for the monster mash!”
