”Sounds like a good sister” he told her as he looked around, still peckish after everything he had already eaten but dinner last night had been as much as a sandwich because it was easier than sitting down with everyone. This time of year was just hard. Nash smiled when Emma asked if acting wasn’t enough of a workout. It was hard work but not many people often thought of it that way since there didn’t seem much of a sport aspect to it. ”Yea, it can be challenging” he smirked
Nash shook his head, ”Nah, Stephen is at Oxford. Or well, was…he came back after…stuff” the words trailed, this wasn’t about all of that. ”Jace, Link and Crev are around our school though, your siblings around our halls as well?” God, he really had no idea, he should start paying more attention to things. ”We’re doing Hamlet, feel free to come see it, no idea which part I’m playing yet.” Of course he was hoping for the lead but Mr. Gallagher had been pretty evasive about it all. He laughed as the girl told him he may need a lesson or hundred more before he flew over, ”That may be good advice, do you go back often? Or at all?”
”Crev is the youngest, I have the honour of not being anything special” Okay, that was a low blow towards himself and he didn’t mean it. Nash Breckah had ways to make himself get noticed. ”I don’t do favorite teachers” he smirked, who would ever admit to liking teachers anyways. ”Do you have any?”
Emma shook her head - being good was something she had always been, even right after her trauma with her parents. "Yeah, yeah. You'd think that because I'm the youngest sibling that it wouldn't be the case, right?" It seemed to be a stereotype about the youngest sibling. Being an only child for the first bit of her life, made having siblings a huge adjustment.
"That's cool. It's a challenge from what I can tell. How do you manage to memorize your lines anyway?" She could guess that it was similar to memorizing things for a test, though again it was something different. There was a certain tone needed for different dialogue depending on the scene. "Did he get in trouble or something? Oxford isn't easy to get into from what I've heard." Cara had told her all about the special Universities. There were tests that students needed to pass to get in.
She waved off his comment - her siblings were a bit too old to be around the secondary school. "No, I'm the only one. My siblings are too old to be at secondary school." There was quite a big age gap between the three children, but they all got along well enough. Emma nodded - she would have to see if she could drag one of her friends to come with her. "So you haven't auditioned yet? Do those start soon?" She wouldn't keep her hopes up - in case Nash didn't get a part.
"I've been back three times now. I left when I was quite young so there isn't much of home I remember." She opted to play dumb, not really wanting to go into bonding over trauma - it was usually saved for those who were true friends. "Wow you really are man to yourself. There must be something special about you?" She had heard about some parents playing favorites when it came to their children.
Emma nodded, it was hard for her to decide which teacher is her favorite. "I don't know either, maybe Mr. Stonehouse? He seems nice enough."
