He hadn't had a good ruck since the United States, but today Jax had been determined to change that despite Hughes being unavailable for the day and he wasn't about to go as Ember - his new acquaintance - mainly because asking a pregnant girl to go on a hike seemed rather selfish. So Jax had ventured off on his own with a gps, a camel, and his fit bit to get lost for the day. Surprisingly, Hickstead had quite a number of trails to offer as long as you kept a look out for a horse and rider passing through. While most of the trails seemed to be owned by a local stables - they didn't seem to give any mind to people using them as long as you didn't disturb their riders.
It was funny seeing how much people loved horses here and he was from the South. But there was just something different about this quaint little town. Maybe that's why Dad ran off here, he thought darkly to himself as he walked along. Attempting to banish the thought, he detracted from thinking and put his mind to work with the trail. He knew which way he wanted to go and he was pretty certain that he knew how to get there. There was some interesting mountain trails that he had heard about since moving here and they had one keyword that Jax loved: Advanced. Which meant that it would be a challenge, something that he needed to take his mind off of stuff and to keep himself in shape.
The locals hadn't been lying though, because as soon as he hit it, Jax found himself scrambling around all sorts of terrain. Grass. Rock. Steep Hills. It seemed to have it all, and the male made a mental note to himself that once his wrangler made it through - he would be coming back here again. But Jax wouldn't leave without making it to the top of one of these baby mountains, or at least get high enough to take in the view - which had to be spectacular. So away he went. Time seemed to not move as he made his way up, every move taking full concentration for safety and his body before he found himself where he wanted to be. And it would also appear, that he wasn't the only one that had these thoughts, "Sorry, hope I am not interrupting your-" but he cut himself off, staring at the man before recognition hit him, "Cottonmouth Kenny?"

Muscles flexed as Lindsay trekked the trail ahead of him. The winter weather could make a blue square a black diamond. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case. The trail was icy and still steep, but it made the trek more enjoyable. While there was a bit more focus, there was a rush of excitement. He had done these routes a few times and it was always different somehow.
As Lindsay was making his way past a boulder and working on finding his next step – he heard a voice next to him. “Yee-haw, buckaroo,” he smiled. “I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised if someone recognized me in these parts,” Lindsay laughed. “A lot sooner than I thought actually!”
The pause that fell between the two men had been utterly deafening to Jax, and it had been long enough to think that the hike had been tougher than he thought and he was hallucinating. But then, the other man spoke, and confirmed his thoughts. Thankfully, Lindsay Walsh didn't appear too annoyed by the encounter and even humored him with that famous tv greeting.
Laughter escaped Jax, as he bashfully ran a hand through his hair, "Sorry about that. It kinda just came out." He supposed that the other man was used to it, but that didn't mean he had to be subjected to every annoying fan encounter ever, "I'm Jax by the way," he said with a smile now, shaking the awe off, "I have to say, I didn't expect to see you either, but I am meeting all sorts of expats in Hickstead it would seem." And that was certainly the truth. Still, he couldn't help but to ask, "Is there some wrestling tour or some fan convention in town that brought you out of retirement? Or are you just hear to enjoy sunny England?"
And yes, that last bit had been a joke.

“Nah, it’s all good – mate. I like it when people approach me. Better than people taking a sneaky picture and running away.” There were times, of course, when Lindsay had some weird interaction with fans. But that tended to be only in the states. WWE felt quite niche, but he was still recognizable in the smaller wrestling world of locals internationally. “Nice to meet you, Jax! I moved here a bit ago,” he grinned. “Though I do have a convention coming up in London. Guess old management pinged my location and insisted I go.” Lindsay was looking forward to it, actually. As much as he loved his current job – the wrestling side still needed to come out sometimes. “Still a nightmare to find decent greens here though…”
Jax found it a little funny that people would actually try and do the ole sneak attack photo with a WWE wrestler, but maybe he was just too old by now to understand. Laughter escaped him, "Ah, well, as long as they don't disturb your piece and quiet." Kinda felt like that was why Jax was out here himself, even with all the inheritance and Navy drama going on. He liked to think he was doing better though, if even just a little bit.
At least he hadn't been awkward enough to cause Lindsay Walsh to just flat out run away from him. It looked like they would be sharing this piece of scenery for a bit now - which Jax didn't mind. He had been enjoying his time in Hickstead so far, but with Hughs off the grid, he felt like he had done nothing but socialize with the opposite sex lately. Obviously, not a bad thing, but after three sisters, sometimes, Jax just wanted a bro, "I'm sure a convention will be fun though. Crowds of doting fans and all." It would be tempting to go, but the second he thought about crowds, he thought better about it as a chill ran over his spine.
Hazel eyes glanced over at him curiously for a moment at the greens mention, "I can't tell if you're talking about the scenery before us or a lack of spinach and salad in England." He said jokingly now, "So what does a retired wrestler do around the country side of England to pass the time? I don't think even your wikipedia page says where you ran off too after retiring."
