Growing up, he was always very strict in the way he worked and looked. There are times he wavers to a more relaxed fellow, but this side of him is rarely seen. While wanting to separate himself a bit from his bloodline, Griffin still wants to please his parents. He knows his disappearing the way he did cause a bit of a scandal. But the idea of them finding him, makes him wonder if he should rebel against everything he knows. Sometimes he'll allow himself to slouch, but often quickly fixes his posture - as if his former governess is over his shoulder. One of the things that he still carries with him is his strong love for proper etiquette and manners. He's a firm believer in chivalry and has a hard time understanding the common actions and lingo of his peers. Especially the idea of wearing shoes in the house, or using the same fork for everything. He values a clean and tidy space, often mucking his horse's stall more than most do. Griffin cares for his horse greatly, valuing their health over his sometimes. Growing up with a lot of children around him, child care and understanding children prepared him for his bright idea of working at a school. He was born into the luxury of never having to touch a thing, something that set him up for a few failures later in life. Home life was strict but still had love. Griffin’s parents had their children uphold an image in public, but in the privacy of their home – could they so call let loose? Which often meant ice cream for dinner and staying up to ten. How fantastic. In the middle, Griffin was the shadow of his brother and the protector of his younger sister. His attention was often split between preparing him to be the next in line or studying hard to prep him for the best education possible. Hilda, his personal Governess was the one person Griffin had that taught him the more basic things in life. Despite being cooped up – the governess did teach him street smarts, something a lot of people in his society lacked. She made things fun to understand, and he wasn’t as rigid with her. Griffin credits her for his love of literature and education. His favorite gift that he still holds from her is The Complete Tales by Beatrix Potter. Hilda moved on from him to Leona when Griffin was twelve, landing him a harsher governess. The brightness he had before was gone. He envied his sister, having Hilda as her governess. But the two still had their special moments when they could. Often having secret meetings between the shelves of the family library, or meeting at the stables to receive lessons from Hilda’s husband. When Griffin was seventeen, a girl named Lara and her family arrived at the home of Büchel. His father introduced her as his fiancée and Griffin just smiled and nodded. She was a pretty girl, but he was too young. As he was taught, Griffin was polite – but some weird waves hit him. What if he left? Knowing Hilda and her husband were moving to England after retirement, Griffin saw that as his ticket to leave. He knew all the secret passageways of his old home and bribed some guards – Griffin found himself on the train to a faraway place. It didn’t take long for the rumors and the scandal to appear. Headlines wondering if the middle child Alexi, was kidnapped. Was he secretly gay and ran away with his lover? With his knowledge of the streets, Griffin managed to lay low until Hilda spotted him a mile away in Kendal. There was a lot of confusion, but after a long heart-to-heart – Hilda dragged him to Hickstead. For his safety, and to be a home base. Documents were made with his chosen name, and he took Hilda’s last name – acting as her grandson. Griffin enrolled in the local university, as an English major – and took to the equestrian team like a moth to a flame. With his years of training and lessons from Peter, it didn’t take long for Griffin to move up as Co-Captain with his Holsteiner, Dickens. So far, Griffin has managed to stay out of any public issues. He spats a lot with team member Wynter, only because he knows he likes her. Something that he’s very confused about, as they are like water and oil. He’s hoping to survive his last semester of school, and after December 2022 – he’ll be free of education. Well, his own studies.
