Welcome to Hickstead, home to both Seven Oak Stables, and Blue Acre - two rival stables. Both offer opportunities for their clients to reach the highest level of excellence. Each stable differs from the other, so choose wisely and never forget, loyalty is everything... Meanwhile as the stables battle it out, there's trouble brewing at the university. Be careful, if you don't pick a side you may get caught in the cross-fire...

Todd was not the least bit phased by the stable, ultimately glad to get off the truck and away from the dark space. He immediately making all sorts of noise as he was led into the barn and put into the cross ties. He just looked about, eyes wide as he called out, spotting other horses not too far from where he was.
His blanket slid off and before he knew it he was being groomed and his mane untangled. He relaxed then, resting a hind foot as the people around him fussed and did their thing. It was a nice feeling really, one that Todd could've easily fallen asleep to, but not so much today given that the stable was all very new and the people were different.
He'd gotten used to the smaller stable he'd been in, known what to expect and when, but now he was here in this new place and he was at the very least curious to meet the people and all the horses he could smell. He offered a little resistance at first to his feet being moved, but he gave him and let his foot come up off the floor.
Once the grooms were happy, they undid the ties and led him to a fresh stall and turned him into it to wait, allowing him to look about and check out all that was in his new box.
today was the day. he knew it was a bit silly but he felt more excited about today than he had since he could remember. his horse was being delivered today. not another boarders horse, not another lesson horse but his own horse. one he could call his own. he wasn't anything amazing but he was perfect for him. something he could grow with, learn with and maybe even train a little with naomi's instruction or the instruction of the other trainers at the barn. he'd skipped breakfast that morning, too excited to get down to the barn so he could really get to know the horse. they'd met before when casey had met the horse and decided to buy him so he wondered if todd would remember him any. if he didn't it would be fine, that's what today was for. getting him settled and getting him used to being around casey. he'd introduce him to cleo at some point, when the dog was out of the doghouse after her escapade out to seven oaks.
he'd pretty much run down to the barn from the house but he was walking by the time he got to the barn. while his leg had healed it still ached a bit sometimes and he had promised naomi that he'd take it easy. he'd been given the all clear to ride and play sports a while ago but it was better to be safe than sorry, or so he'd been told. he grabbed some of the different treats from the feed room and he stuck them into his pockets as he walked over to the stall that had been picked out for the new arrival. he walked to the door and he leaned down on it gently, wondering slightly what the best way to get his attention was. he didn't want to spook him because he couldn't hear him, so he thought for now the best way would be to stand there until todd noticed him and then he'd do some research on the best way to communicate with a deaf horse would be.
Todd was investigating his space, putting his nose to everything and smelling it. Getting to know what was around him, where the hay net was, where the water was. That he had a neighbor even though he couldn't see them, the smell was there. He churned up some of the bedding, before turning around to spot a human at the gate. His curious nicker was very quiet as he went over, letting himself reach over and bump his nose against the young man's arms.
The smell was somewhat familiar, his ears flickering around on his head for several seconds before they were contently perked forward. He liked people! He poked at the young man gently, making soft noises of curiosity as he made his inspection. Todd pulled on the fabric of the boy's clothes, before resting his head on his shoulder with a snort. A perfect resting post!
