But this is how Harper likes to live her life, as sitting for too many hours doing nothing - is scary for her. There's a lot of self-doubt about her abilities and dreams. If anything, her family forces her to relax on the weekends - just so she's not a mile a minute. Harper is a sweet girl who's battling her people-pleaser skills. She wants the best for everyone and has a hard time prioritizing her own needs - something that has changed drastically since therapy. The siblings grew close in a tight-knit family. There was the usual teasing, but nothing severe and uncomfortable. As Harper grew, she and Jackson grew apart. Nothing malicious happened, but they separated ways via interests. Harper became hyper-focused on her schooling and interests, often unintentionally locking people out. She didn’t come out of her cocoon until the family adopted, Sam. Harper took to him like a moth to a flame. She adores him and teases him like her own brother. They’re close enough, people see them as Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss. Soon enough, the family grew– as a baby girl was introduced. Kiara was born, which made Harper slam the breaks again. This event made Harper’s issues flare, especially with time management and making her mother happy. Therapy has helped her realize what she needed to prioritize and explain how she felt with words and not just her face. Since her breakthrough, Harper has been able to help Kiara on her own terms and make sure her boundaries are respected. Harper is continuing her education and hopes to explore more of herself as she continues therapy.
